SUUUUUUUUPER SLOOOOOOOOOW romance alert. Like, molasses going uphill in the dead of winter slow.
Which, considering how shy both love interests are, is realistic. It just doesn't make for really exciting or enthralling reading, at least not for me. I was never that shy, so I can't really relate to it, though others may appreciate it. Usually in shojo, one of the couple is shy and the other is extremely out-going, so this is something different at least.
This is one I will continue with, but if nothing much happens in the next volume, I may not continue. Just my personal preference. There is nothing wrong with the characters or plot, it's just the timing is a bit off for me.
3, not rocking my socks but not bad, stars.
My thanks to NetGalley and VIZ Media LLC for an eARC copy of this book to read and review.

Knock knock? Who’s there? Two really shy teens? Two really shy teens who? Two really shy teens whose relationship is progressing with silence and here I am who can’t get a date after an hour’s conversation.
Okay bad joke, don’t kill me for it. But seriously these two lovebirds, Suiren and Kawasumi are adorable and need to be protected. They are both really shy and although Suiren wants to progress their relationship, Kawasumi is still figuring out his feelings. From the feel of it, Kawasumi doesn’t talk a lot and trying to date the ‘Takane no Hana’ is a real challenge for him.
This installment may be slow for some readers and honestly, the rival, Koharu isn’t much of a rival. But I enjoy the calm growth in Suiren and Kawasumi’s relationship, it makes it feel more real and not forced. I also enjoyed how Koharu didn’t force herself on Kawasumi but made an attempt to get closer to him, although I did feel bad for her as she lost some of her confidence. Her honesty allowed Kawasumi to be honest with himself and with her which was refreshing.
We are still focusing on the main characters but a new side story of love seems to be revealing itself. I’m hoping we can see it develop more in the future volumes as the side characters are just so supportive and great that they deserve some love too.
This story is very cute and wholesome but I recommend binge reading this series. I feel it’ll have a greater impact if read consecutively, especially since our main characters talk with expressions more than words. Also, the art in this volume is simply stunning similar to the previous ones but with a bit more background. I absolutely love the character’s cute chibi forms; those cute big eyes are my enemy!
This continues to be the most wholesome shoujo fluff I have ever read!
Nothing major happens (though there definitely was some progression in this volume!), but I still end up giggling and squealing SO much!
I enjoyed seeing "Flower" slowly push herself to be more vocal. Seeing her cheer for Kawasumi is one of the most enduring things, especially when he gets all blushy and they both act embarrassed. Truly, such happy bliss and thankful that continues throughout the whole volume!
I never imagined I would feel bad for Koharu even though I don't really view her as a "villainess" in the series. However, my heart really did ache for her because despite how hard she has tried, she really didn't have a chance.
Overall, another very sweet volume! I love seeing Suiren's friends come together to cheer her on and seeing our leads so blushy and awkward. Very wholesome and wonderful read!
I’m still on the fence with this series. It’s so painful how shy and uncommunicative both Suiren and Kawasumi are being, but there was a tiny bit of progress in Suiren’s part. So I’m giving it another volume!
I'm hoping that it starts picking up soon, because a whole lot of nothing happened in this one. I trust in the mangaka duo that is Suu Morishita to not let me down.
The entire volume was sent on these two looking at each other walking away in the halls, trying to say a word to each other or even looking at each other. Yea I just can't continue to read this manga when theres so much better out there, the pace is too slow for me and no character building throughout so far. This is a pass for me.

Konnichiwa a todas, lectoras🌸
3.5 but I'm torn. This volume is pretty much just panel upon panel of them looking at each and walking away. Lots of blushing. Lots of internalizing. I can get into it and feel it, but at the same time, I can only guess what they're feeling because we aren't given enough context to really know for a good chunk of it and that's why I lowered my rating. I spent most of the volume thinking they were miserable but after reading some of the reviews here, I can see a different take on it. I think, for the reader's sake, we need something more. I still like the series enough to stay with it, but it's almost too simplistic. I thought the premise was that Suiren couldn't talk to boys, but she doesn't talk to anyone, and Kawasumi is described as a karate enthusiast who can't talk to girls. His characterization is spot on, so it bugs me that Suiren's is not. We get a little flashback into Kawasumi's childhood and learn a bit about him. I hope we get something similar for Suiren to develop her more. It's really hard to see these characters as high school students. Sakura and Li have a more mature relationship and they're in middle school (Cardcaptor).
Kawasumi date cuenta 😭😭🙏 Literalmente tienes a tu amigo mareado jagdjahd.
More people are figuring out Suiren likes Kawasumi, though fewer seem to realize he also likes her. It seems like the girls may be about willing to give up when Kawasumi's friend might have gotten through to him. Question is if this recent encounter will turn things around or if they'll just keep being awkward and ignoring each other but liking each other at school. That's without factoring in Suiren's "rival" who also likes Kawasumi and seems to be glued to him as much as she can. It would be surprising if Suiren hadn't seen them together down in the garden at some point, which most likely wouldn't help emotionally.

Like a Butterfly, vol3, picks up right where we left our characters. Suiren is still lovable but quiet, Kawasumi is still strong-headed but shy. Will they make any progress towards each other in this volume? Read and find out!
The art is still beautiful and the plot is light so far. There’s a good amount of focus on side characters in this volume so it’s nice to broaden our horizon of the world and others’ thoughts.
Remember, this is a slow burn. A slooooooooooooow slow burn. Don’t expect too much to happen just yet. That said, I'm always looking forward to the next volume.
I guess you can say the two are making progress, though it hardly feels that way. Somehow things have stalled after the fireworks festival, though that should have put them closer….
I like Koharu’s confidence and straightforward nature, but at what point is it harassment? On the one hand, she’s free to like him, even if she’s aware he likes Suiren. But not taking no for an answer makes him uncomfortable 🤷🏻♀️ And when she finally does seem to accept she has no chance, she makes him feel bad by crying, and tells him to not be nice and just go away…its not as if he told her to be so pushy!

AAAAAAAAAAAH i can't get over how good and cute is this series😭 and why is it so underrated⁉️ this should be a crime fr😩 anyways i can't wait to read the next volume, i really hope that something will happen when suiren and kawasumi will be going home together😩 i need them to be together RIGHT NOW‼️ also! i'm so proud of suiren that's she's able to speak to kawasumi now (even tho it's not much it's a really big step!) if they're not gonna end up dating soon then i hope that at least kawasumi and ryousuke will be eating on the roof with the girls again💪🏻

So cute! I feel bad for Koharu (I think her name is) that likes Kawasumi. I hope she’s able to get over him though. I’m frustrated with Surien and Kawasumi. Clearly they like each other but won’t say anything because they’re both not used to socializing. I am curious why Kawasumi likes Surien other than she’s cute. I also see why Kawasumi doesn’t want to admit that he likes Surien or go out with her because he doesn’t want to deal with the publicity he’d get as her boyfriend. I wonder what’ll end up happening.

This was another super sweet volume of this manga. In this one we see Suiren cheering for Kawasumi as he competes in a karate tournament. If you are not into slow-burn romances then this series is not for you, but for those of us who are fans, it's the best! I love watching these two characters dance around each other as they go back and forth. The will-they won't-they of the series is really cute to watch. I can't wait to see where the story goes in the next one!
Kawasumi and Suiren have gone on their official first "not date" and the two are making headway... but things are now... complicated? Kawasumi is struggling to mentally distinguish himself with the rest of Suiren's fanboys while also trying to work through his own doki-doki feelings. Suiren, on the other hand, knows she likes Kawasumi but struggles to express her feelings because of so many years of almost silence.
4.5 Stars This was a brilliant continuation, the growth in Surien's character was brilliant and how she continues to improve herself was brilliant. The way Kawasumi was pulling away was sad and heart breaking for Surien. He really needed a kick in the butt. This one really developed the character relationships and was so fun. The art was lovely and the story was so fun, it really complements the art. This was so worth the read and so brilliant of a volume.

This volume was a little frustrating because nothing happened for several chapters...just rinse and repeat of our two leads gazing at each other, not knowing how to communicate with each other, and everyone around them knowing what's going on but helpless to do much to help. Something happen already!!
Okay, I thought we were finally going to get somewhere after the fireworks. NOPE. This whole volume is pretty much just the two shy 'love' birds making eyes at each other and blushing.
Oh and a karate tournament. Where 'Flower' is able to get a few words out. Other then that. It's pretty much a whole lot of nothing.
This slow paced romance is cute but I'm not too sure it's for me. I like it, but after I read it I immediately forgot everything that happened 😅 I think this might just be more suited for a much younger audience than me
I usually enjoy slow burn romances but this one is ridiculous - their friends should've pushed them together ages ago (and pushed the other girl out). Something FINALLY happened right at the end though so I might try the next volume to see if it actually makes some progress.
