Rate this book
All of her life Chesney Blake felt like a misfit with everyone in the family except her grandmother. As a popular romance writer, she keeps secret the fact that none of her inspiration comes from her own pitiful love life.
After canceling yet another wedding plan, Chesney decides that she is definitely cursed. She only attracts the cheaters, liars and jerks. So she makes a drastic life change. She needs time alone to think about pain and change and fear. She needs to leave everything familiar, from the posh apartment in Chicago to the family members who drive her bonkers to the never-ending list of loser ex-boyfriends.
With hope in her heart, Chesney lands in Bean Blossom, Indiana, where her happiest days of childhood were spent with her late grandmother. She buys back the severely neglected homestead on Chesney Ridge and vows to rebuild her heart while she breathes life back into the only place she felt peace.
When Chesney finds herself unraveling an amazing mystery about her grandmother she stops worrying so much about her bruised up heart. Somehow, a handsome handyman is linked to the mystery. And when Chesney finally uncovers the truth, she finds herself In a Moon Smile she never believed could be real.

While working for more than eight years as a journalist and humor columnist at a newspaper, I saw immediately that my readers waited for their weekly laugh. The sassier I got with material, the happier they were. But there were limits, of course, on how far I was allowed to color outside the lines.
Now that I work on my own, no one can tell me anymore where the line should be... the line that stops my thought from marching right past appropriate. And I LOVE that!
Juggling everybody's issues and rarely stopping to even remember when we last did something just for ourselves is an exhausting way to live.
My books are fun and sometimes they might seem a bit off-color, but so are we! And that's exactly what makes us amazing creastures! I want my readers to identify with at least one character every time they open my books. And I want them to take mini vacations by reading my stuff. We all deserve a good laugh.. no matter how horribly we've been hurt, we can survive it just as soon as we can laugh about it. I know this is true. I am living proof!

Sherri Coner weaves a story around believable characters that have many layers that are uncovered as the story unfolds. Chesney is the main character but the supporting cast each have a story of their own that contributes to the tale of one woman finally deciding to live on her own terms. Chesney follows her gut and discovers what really makes her happy as she reclaims the abandoned country home previously owned by her grandmother in Bean Blossom, Indiana.

With each page I see how readers can relate to the characters and the circumstances of their lives.

Coner's stories are all about women who discover they must live in their own skin and not by the rules and demands of others in order to find what makes them truly happy. And if they can do that, then there is hope that we can do that, too.

Chesney Blake is a successful romance writer. Her personal life isn't quite so successful. She leaves her surroundings behind and heads for a small town in Indiana where her grandmother lived. Her family thinks she is crazy. Along with the move Chesney begins a self awareness journey. She has a vision for her grandmothers home and with the help of a hunky handyman she makes those visions come to life. The changes that she makes in her life impact her best friend, her sister, her parents and even her grandmother's friends. A good sorry that I recommend.

This was my first book by Sherri Coner and I truely loved it! The way she devolps the characters is simply amazing. I could picture the setting, and could actually see myself there. I laughed and cried through out the entire book, and will recommend it to all my friends. It just made me feel good all over. Great job!!

I just love Sherri's style. She takes me through every emotion so by the time I'm done, I feel like I was right there with not just my nose buried in the book but my whole soul.
