The story line had potential and parts were well done. We were told of emotion but I didn't feel it. Ron was a jerk. We were told about him accepting Jesus but I didn't feel remorse for the prior jerk behavior. The characters of Janie and Jessica were well done.
Following on with Beth n Jon's story, this continues on with their wedding where good friend Lori meets her ex Ron again at the wedding rehearsal. Janie, Ron's sister asks Lori to call by as she has something to ask her. Lori loved Janie as a sister and was concerned with what this request maybe. When told that Janie had liver cancer n not much time to live she wanted Lori to be her nurse n to get to know her daughter Jessica. Ron was the most doted uncle he could be to Jessica n he didn't want Lori anywhere near his family. Janie wanted Lori to adopt Jessica...but Jessica didn't want Lori. I related to some of the issues that happened in the marriage breakdown n Lori's doubts when their relationship became friends again.
A must read. A page turner one can not put down Mildred Colvin is an excellent author. If you have as yet not read her books. Please try them, you will not be sorry.Eileen
