“I stare at her, my mouth impersonating a fish. Words crowd my mind, then riot down to my throat. Tears, ones that I haven’t allowed to fall in months, gather. Finally, I blurt, “I dropped my basket, Nana.”

Violet Rae Givens is about to fall apart. Escaping to the small town in the Deep South, where her nana lives is the only thing she can think of doing; a place to hide. Running just seems easier than facing all of the horrible truths of her recent past; if she can keep it together, no one will ever have to know how deep her pain runs. But Violet “Rae” can only be silent for so long, sooner or later her life has to resume…contracts to fulfill, a new member of the family, her career to save. Trouble is, she just wants to be done, be ordinary and have privacy, a normal life. So, what’s up with the cocky gentleman at the grocery store with his kid sister at the crack of dawn, acting like a jerk one second and a sweetheart the next? And why can’t she shake the thoughts of him in her mind?

“Go out with me,” I blurt, like a first-rate asshole. What am I, fourteen? “I don’t think that’s a good idea,” she says and my heart sinks. “But I might be back here, at this very spot tomorrow at eleven.” I grin, keeping the excitement all tampered down. If I don’t watch it, I’ll be doing jumpy claps while shouting ermigawd.”

Oh Cole, sweet, sexy and completely cocky Cole. I love him. He’s the town screw-off with a brother and sister to support because his druggie mother can’t seem to stay sober long enough to care for herself, much less anyone else; plus she hates him, no matter how hard he tries to help her. Cole runs the family bar and is always itching for a fight; a way to gain release from all the stress he’s under. The only other way to de-stress is sex…and he has a lot of that too. Then he meets the pixie-cut blonde with a diamond stud in her nose…

“You’re amazing.” I mean it. Nothing about my words are meant to seduce, meant to tantalize and tease. Yes I want inside her, but even more I want inside her head. I need to know this girl. What makes her tick; what she likes and dislikes. I need to know all of this, despite knowing how long she’ll stay here.”

So it begins. Rae and Cole start as friends, for totally different reasons. Her reasons: bad break-up history, she’s worried he will find out who she really is (famous of course) and what she’s done, therefore would want nothing more to do with her. That reason alone has her weary, he’s captivated her and that’s scary. Cole on the other hand will take whatever she’s willing to give to him…hoping someday it will be more than just friendship. He knows it’s a long shot and she will leave, but he still has to try.

“I have nothing to offer anyone, especially someone like Rae. Every woman past, present and future, is better off without me and my baggage. Hell, I doubt any woman wouldn’t want to handle the truth of my life, much less hear about it. But as I gaze at Rae, something sparks inside of me. “Always.”

A journey of rediscovery and trust as well as learning to let go of the past to focus on the future; leaving the guilt and pain of things that cannot be changed behind. Cole and Violet Rae each give the other something that was missing before—hope. The way their relationship developed felt very real and made me fall in love with not only them, but the author. Her pain is very real as is his. I love how they are both dealing with forms of rejection and heartbreak while forging a relationship based on honesty (mostly) with each other. This is a series I can see reading over and over again…looking forward to more!

Violet Rae givens was a popular country song singer but after a tragic accident she had to get away from everyone. She knew that the public hated her and she was no longer “sweet innocent girl” anymore in their eyes. Her parents happiness was too much for her to deal with and she went to the one person who can protect her and will not judge her – her Nana. Now there’s a hot Southern boy that she meets at Piggly Wiggly early in the morning that makes her skin tingle and she cannot get him out of her head. But being hurt and lied to makes her push him away and soon enough she needs to make a decision.

Cole wishes that he would only get one break. Running the bar with his brother, trying to raise sister Kelly is hard but it is nothing like watching your wreck-of-a-mom trying to ruin your life even more. He never felt like he deserved anything good in life and never expected anything but worse from people. But meeting Violet Rae has made him feel like a teenager and he finally feels like there is someone that understands him. Someone who can love him for who he is no matter what the situation might bring.

Wow. I have absolutely no words for this book. I did not know what I was going to expect but the intimacy and the relationships really blew me away. I had a hard time writing this review because I had to gather all of my thoughts. All I know is that I have found another favorite author to love and follow. One of the things that I really appreciated in the book was that it was never predictable. It didn’t have some crazy twists but it was definitely surprising. One of my favorite scenes was when Cole and Rae had the first time alone by the creek and I just loved how the author described the tension between them. It felt like I was actually there. Cannot wait for the second book to come out so I can have me some yummy Cole!

This was a fast paced, could be read in one sitting, dual point of view, quick drama, story.

Violet Lynn hides out at her grandma's in North Carolina over a tragic accident that has Nashville treating her like a Pariah. So she goes by Rae, which is part of her name, and changes her look. There she meets Cole. He's a real bad boy who likes to get in to fights, gets arrested a lot, runs a bar with his brother, cusses a lot, takes care of his sister, and has really horrible parents. Life has not been kind to him and after all of this, he's trying to earn a college degree. He's got the weight of the world on his shoulders and he's only 22-years-old.

At first these two hide their dirty secrets from one another until slowly they let their walls down and show their true selves. By this time, they have fallen in love with each other. Now if he can keep on to Rae, his sister, his bar and keep his life from falling apart, all will go well.

Will Nashville come calling for her? Will her parents try and warn him off and take her back? Will his secrets ruin what they have together?

Stay tuned for book two to see their story continue...

I did like the added little twist at the end.

I just have to comment that:
1. I wish these two would have talked a bit more to each other at times. They would react first and think later. Mainly Cole.
2. I felt the story needed a bit more fleshing out and more character development at times too.
3. Basically, I thought the story line was a great idea however, I felt the story needed more depth.

Live For You is a story about love, loss, and finding ones self in the midst of the vultures in this world. I have never read a story that has captivated me and kept me coming back for more. This is one of those stories I will re-read over and over again because I just could not get enough of Cole and Violet AKA Rae.

Violet is living the life of a country music star. Until one night she is partying a little to hard and she ends up in jail and her face plastered all over the tabloid magazines. When Violet gets out of jail she tries to resume her life like nothing happened but the press is not so forgiving. They stalk her and harass her so she decides she will go to her grandmother's house and hide out till the press quiets down. What she finds in Forrestville, North Carolina will change her world completely.

Cole is just trying to survive and take care of his brother and sister. His mother has checked out on drugs and just does not care about her children. So Cole runs his family bar and goes through women like no body's business. He is not looking to settle down because he has responsibilities to take of. But that changes the day a little blonde headed beauty walks into his family bar. Cole decides there is something different about Violet and wants to get to know her but will he be able to let his wall down long enough to get to know Violet and let her in before things take a turn for the worse?

Will Cole and Violet share something special or will Nashville want Violet back? What happens when love collides with secrets and past hurts that sometimes just can't go away?

Live For You was an enjoyable read for me. There are some serious issues the characters face, but I just simply had fun getting to know these characters. It's certainly a series that I will continue. Not only did I like the MC's in this book, but I loved the supporting characters and am already looking forward to seeing what will happen next in the series.

Cole Morgan...be still my heart. He rough around the edges, but he sure does have a heart of gold. This guy has had to take care of his brother and sister most of his life, because of their drug addicted mother. Sure, he gets in fights from time to time, but generally Cole is a really good guy. I loved how he interacted with his little sister, Kelly. He was so selfless to her needs. He worked hard to give her everything from food on the table to ballet lessons. Keep in mind that he's only 22. Guys his age are typically still out having fun, but Cole puts his family first. When he meets Rae, his world tilts just a bit more. She's different than the girls he usually goes for. She's got short purple hair, a nose ring, and an attitude. And he can't get enough of her.

Rae is a bit of a spitfire. I liked her. When I first met Violet Rae, I knew there was more to her story pretty fast. The reader gets bits and pieces about why she's running from Nashville and as the story unfolds, it broke my heart. I had a suspicion early on and it turned out to be right, but there was a twist to that particular part of the story that surprised me. While I did like Rae, I liked her more with Cole. I think they brought out the best in each other. They're both hiding secrets about their lives, but as they get to know each other, they learn that they actually have more in common than they ever guessed. I loved watching Rae and Cole both, learn to trust one another and their feelings. Did I mention that this book is steamy? Yep...Cole is sexy. There were more than a few scenes that made my eyes just a bit wider. I liked it. A lot.

I love series' the most when I get to know the supporting characters too. I do believe that there will be more to Cole and Rae's story, but I absolutely can't wait to see what happens with the other boys. I loved Cole's brother Parker and am curious about what he seems to be hiding. Wyatt and Lacey were pretty great too. I'm also looking forward to Beau's story. I think he has a lot to tell.

Overall, I really liked Live For You. I want to see more of Cole and Rae, because I think there were some things left unfinished in their story. Don't get me wrong, I loved the way the book ended, but there are a few things that I think will happen for them and the rest of the cast. At least that's my hope. Their lives are so intertwined that it should provide for some good drama down the road.

Favorite scene:
~Confession number one: I didn't mean to drop trou and go full monty. Sure, I let the towel dip a little, just to tease her, but the damn thing slipped out of my hand. So extra swagger--while exiting and re-entering--was required. Confession number two: I want to kiss this girl. Correction, I have to kiss this girl. -Loc 351/ARC

Live For You by Marquita Valentine tells the story of an unlikely pair that is brought together by chance. Cole Morgan is busy sustaining the family bar business as a means of providing for his little sister while his mother recovers from a substance addiction. He constantly finds himself in trouble with the law, but with the help of his brother and friends, he’s able to barely keep his head above water. Violet Lynn has recently returned to Forestville to live with her grandmother after a horrible accident and dramatic fall from grace as a Nashville singer.

When Cole and Violet collide, their relationship is marred with constant struggles, deep seeded secrets and a choice of whether being together is worth the sacrifices they will each have to pay in order to make it work.

Overall, I have to say these two characters intrigued me. They were both extremely volatile and I never knew what to expect from one scene to the next. I liked how they came together and fought to make it work. Cole’s acceptance of Violet’s mistakes was heartfelt and believable. I never doubted that he fell hard for her and she for him.

However, there were several characters that were introduced into the storyline that didn’t feel fully developed. I would have liked to learn more about Lacey and Wyatt, but I suspect they might get their own story soon. Cole’s mom and brother seemed to constantly hang by the sidelines and I was left curious about what happened to them and where they might be headed.

As far as Violet’s fall from grace, I feel I was only given surface information. There seemed to be more to that night than what was shared, and I’m curious exactly how the entire night, as well as the accident transpired. Violet’s relationship with her parents was a mystery to me as well. Being fed only tidbits of information here and there left me wondering what I might be missing.

Overall though, I liked the characters and I enjoyed the story, so a generous three stars from me.

When one night of wild partying gets out of control, Violet Lynn sees her world turned upside down and in order to escape all the drama she finds herself running back home to her grandmothers house in Forrestville, North Carolina.

Cole is handsome, charming and career oriented. What's not to like? Except the deep secrets he harbors as he tries to go on with his life.

Two broken people that by chance run into each other in the grocery story are about to find out just how much they need each other in their lives.

Wow. When I opened this book I didn't know what to expect. Honestly, with me watching Nashville lately so much, this kind of had that kind of ring to it. I found out that I liked Live For You, a lot. It was a fast paced engaging read that kept me glued to the pages. I loved the attraction between Cole and Violet, it's instantly felt and not forced and has you hooked through the rest of the book. I couldn't help but wonder how this was all going to turn out for them.

He doesn't know much about her past...

We get a glimpse of her past...

and she doesn't want him googling her when she finally tells him who she really is!

There is a lot of sexual tension, and Violet battling her emotions from the car wreck and the tabloids stories that exploded after it happened - including her break-up with her boyfriend that left her emotionally weary of man. I liked Violet, because she wasn't perfect. There was a lot going on in her life, a secret she keeps that she has a hard time with and it reflects on her and everything throughout the book.

I really loved Cole! He was so....hot hehe. The way he took care of his younger sister was so touching and heart melting. The stuff he had to deal with his drug-addict mother was heart breaking. The fact that he kept getting into bar fights amused me and the interaction between him and Violet had me giggling at times as well as holding my breath.

Wonderful emotionally dramatic read that is fast paced, and had me lured from the first chapter! Cannot wait for me from this series!

Another book I read for a challenge! This one was pretty cute, it was a simple sweet read. It would have been a solid 4 stars for me until I made it until the very end, Rae just kept crying over everything and some of it was definitely warranted but some of it was a bit gratuitous IMO. And the last line of the book!! WTF?! Everything was all tied up and then that last line just cast a shadow over everything! I'm not sure I'll read the next, I like where Rae and Cole left off. If I'm in the mood for something sweet and simple I may pick up the next.

Live for You by Marquita Valentine
(Book #1: Boys of the South Series)
Source: Author/ARC for a fair and honest review
Rating: 4½/5 stars

Bloody hell this book was hot and rather than taking this read apart bit by bit I am going to approach it in the same way the author did, character by character. Here we go boys and girls . . . .

Cole: Bloody hell is there a sexier man alive in books right now? Cole is hotness personified with his hard body, multiple tattoos (yummy!), ready to rumble (yes, I said rumble) at the drop of a hat attitude, his determination to make something more of himself and, his complete and utter devotion to his tiny little sister, Kelly.
Cole has a shit-tastic life and he is trying like hell to hold on to what he has. His father is gone, his mother is a pathetic excuse for a human being drug addict, he runs/owns a bar alongside his brother Parker, and he is trying to get through college all while raising his little sister. Cole is a bad bet for any woman right now and he knows it; too bad his heart isn’t listening to his head, huh?

Violet: Violet has run for life straight back to her Nana’s house in North Carolina and as far away from the press as she can get. Violet is America’s country music sweetheart right up until the moment she is involved in a horrific car accident that she caused as a result of driving while drunk. The press knows the basics but Violet knows the details. The press can never and will never know the details because some things are just too painful to share with anyone else let alone the whole damn world. For Violet, the only way she can process and deal with everything is to disappear to a place she knows she is safe and she is loved no matter what she has done. Violet needs to heal and she certainly doesn’t need a man complicating matters; too bad her heart isn’t listening to her head, huh?

Cole and Violet: Together these two are molten hot and from the very beginning their attraction to one another is undeniable. Logically they both know they have no business whatsoever indulging in the attraction but their hearts have totally different plans. Cole sees Violet for who she is at her core, not the celebrity, press-enhanced version. Violet sees Cole as the strong, dependable and caring man that he really is rather than the super-tough guy façade he presents to the world. If the two of them can deal with all their collective baggage and some of the baggage that belongs to others in their respective lives, they just might have a shot at real and lasting happiness.

The Bottom Line: My only reservation about this book is the fact that I felt like I had missed something in a couple of spots. I even flipped back a few pages to be sure and didn’t find anything I had missed so my single reservation comes in the form of a few weird/awkward transitions. Beyond that, I am hooked on this book!
Marquita Valentine has made it abundantly clear to me that I like broken characters. Not the whiny, I won’t ever get over myself and move on kind of broken but the Cole and Violet kind of broken. Cole and Violet are survivors and even in their darkest moments – both independently and together – they know they will be able to pick up the pieces of their respective lives and move forward. There is no looking back for these two and I respect their determination and will to achieve happiness. These are strong characters that have been dealt a heaping pile of crap by life and are trying to get through it as best they can. The sex scenes are straight up hot, the other characters are sufficiently interesting and, the dialogue is both appropriate and smooth. Overall, I am a bit smitten with Cole and am certain I am going to be continuing my love affair with the Boys of the South series. 

Live For You is great NA contemporary romance that I did really enjoy. I think what made the story for me was was Cole Morgan. Granted, I did like Violet Rae, but Cole sold me hook, like, and sinker. Live For You is told from dual POV's alternating between Cole and Violet Rae, and chapter one begins with Cole. It is in this first chapter that I totally connected with Cole. You get to know him so well and feel like he is talking to you telling you what he is thinking and what is going on in his life.

"Lately, my life has become one endless loop of sameness. Not that I'm complaining, but sometimes, I'd like for something, anything different to happen. Something that knocks me on my ass without getting a black eye or loose tooth from it. Sometimes.....I just want more than the cards I've been dealt.

The cards Cole have been dealt have been anything but easy. Cole and his brother Parker run a bar, attend college, and raise their little sister. His mom is a mess and there is no dad in the picture for any of them. It is obvious the intense love Cole has for his brother and sister. He would do anything for them. Cole is smart, hot tempered and sexy, a combination which lands him trouble more than he would like. He is definitely the bad boy you love to love.

".....my brother and I can break up brawls. We like breaking up fights. Hell, there are times I like to start shit just so I can wail on a guy. Yeah, it's a f***ed up dirty little secret of mine. Deal with it.

Violet Rae Lynn is country music's sweetheart, that is until she messes up big time. Distraught over what happened, a bad relationship break-up, and a secret that no one knows, she wants nothing more than to escape. After changing her appearance, she runs to the place that she is always felt safest, grandma's. The last thing Violet who now calls herself Rae is looking for is another relationship, but then she meets Cole, who blows her mind and rocks her world, and she has to rethink everything. Cole is quite taken with this feisty girl who is a bit of a mystery, and he just can't get enough of her, which is something he hasn't experienced before. Their relationship is anything but easy, and they both don't always deal with things in the best of ways. When it's time for Violet Rae to face the music and her commitments, will the secrets she has and the secrets Cole has be more than either of them can overcome.

Again, I really did enjoy this story. The plot was great and fast paced. There were some things that I saw coming, but there were a few things at the end that I did not. The story ends a bit abruptly and I was sad because I wanted more of these characters, more details, and more closure. Then, to my delight, I saw where they are getting a second book coming out later this summer. With so many NA contemporary romances out there, it is becoming more difficult to find stories that stand out, but for me, Marquita Valentine has done that in Live For You, and I am looking forward to seeing where she takes the story from here.

This was a cute and heartwarming read yet at the same time it was so sad and heartbreaking.

This is the story of Violet Rae Givens who after a landing her self in jail flees to her grandmothers home. Away from the spotlight that comes with being a country music star. Violet Rae's story is an interesting one but it also pulls on your heartstrings. She loses so much more than her good girl image that night and it was great to find out bits and pieces of the story as the book progressed. We don't find out all the details so I'm hoping more will be reveal in the next book. I liked Violet Rae. Even though she has been through so much she is a fighter. She stands up for what she wants and I liked that she stood up to her parents when they tried to tell her what was best.

The thing that made me love this book though was Cole. Ah Cole. I don't know what it is but I love guys from the south. Maybe it's the accent? Or just everything? Whatever it is I fell in love with Cole. Even though he's only 22 he has to almost single handily care for his family, especially his 6 yr old sister, who is such a little cutie! Not only that he has to manage a bar and the stress of paying bills and paying employees. He has to deal with a lot of shit in his life and he tries to deal with it by getting in to fights to release all the anger and stress. This might seem like he is a real rough character but he is such a sweety. He cares so much for his brother and sister and then when Violet Rae comes into his life you really get to see the caring loving guy underneath. I swooned so much. I want a boy from the south!

The story line kept me engaged. Not much is revealed about both characters at the start so this makes you want to keep reading. I loved watching Rae and Cole's relationship develop into something beautiful. The story is about hope and self discovery and learning to go after what you want in life and not listen to those around you. It had me smiling and laughing and left me with a warm happy feeling inside.
Cannot wait for the other books in this series. Cole and Rae's story continues in book 2 but book 3 is gonna be about Wyatt and Lacey who we meet in Live for You. I really liked Wyatt and I can't wait to learn more about Lacey. So excited for this book!

I was needing a read that was not to heavy with a bit of heartbreak and this fit the bill perfectly for me.

It is about a girl who made mistakes and unfortuntaley was in the lime light so it made it so much worse.

And a boy with so much baggage and heart ache from the cards he was dealt.

For Violet Rae & Cole there connection was perfect right from the start even though Violet Rae kept putting her foot in her mouth.

Individually they didn't know that they needed hope, forgiveness, friendship and love but together that is what they got.

Together they found that they were stronger as a unit than individually and they both found love when and where they least expected it.

In the end I really did like this book. A sweet story about family, friendship, loss, hope and love.

I was left with a few answers in this book about what really happened to Rae as it was alluded that there were pieces of the truth missing but I am hoping that more of the truth of her past will be made clear in the next couple of installments of the this series.

From the first moment I started this book I was intrigued. At first when I started this book I expected Cole to be a perfect man who you could marry and introduce to your parents and have the perfect life with boy was I wrong. I absolutely loved this story I thought it was cute and it was great and I look forward to reading the other books in this series because if they are anything like this book they will earn another 5 star review from me.

In this story we meet Violet Rae or as she is better known in the country music world Violet Lynn. But Violet had a terrible accident and has had enough of the spotlight and the accusations about what happened to her late one night so she chops off her hair and goes to hide at her Grandmother's house in North Carolina. By chance she runs into Cole in the supermarket one morning with his younger sister in tow. Things quickly go south when Violet unknowingly hits a nerve and sends Cole running the other direction from her. Try as they might Cole and Violet couldn't stay away from one another bonding a friendship over time. But Violet has been hurt before by a man her ex Jaxon Hunter and she's reluctant to let Cole near her physically but more so emotionally since she's dated his type before and it ended with her finding her boyfriend in bed with her best friend. She finally gives in and learns to trust Cole but with every relationship there are secrets and in this relationship there are secrets on both sides that could tear them apart.

This book kept me up late at night reading. Once I started I couldn't stop and just had to know what was going to happen next. One of the things I absolutely loved is that the characters were so well thought out and developed and they don't fit the mold you expect them to which is a welcoming surprise. I highly recommend reading this book!

I had the pleasure of reading an ARC copy of this book from the author.

The description of the book pulled me in quickly, but sadly the story didn't keep my attention as much as I hoped it would.

**SPOILERS AHEAD!!**

This book is about Rae (who's actually a Country Superstar named Violet Lynn) and Cole Morgan, who's a small town country boy, that works at a bar he's trying to own with his younger brother. The story had the potential to be great, but didn't keep my attention. I hate saying that I struggled to finish it, but I did.

RAE:(Had Taylor Swift gotten pregnant with John Meyer's kid...the I knew you were trouble video says it all Rae in a nutshell for me)

COLE: ( with His little sister)

I mean don't get me wrong, Cole was a sweet guy, caring for his younger sister and going to college (which we never saw). I could tell of the bat that Rae either had a miscarriage, abortion or either killed a small child in the accident just by the way she was acting. By running from her mother who was pregnant and saying she couldn't deal with it. My suspicions were set in stone when it was revealed later in the book.

The best scenes for me in this book was when Cole's drug addicted mother entered and went ballistic.

I mean the love story was there but this book just wasn't for me.

Live for you was quite an enjoyable read, infact I would've rated it five stars if it weren't for the ending. The whole book, characters, plot, and interactions was great! There I love how the story unfolded and the angsty drama. I love-loved the swoony/smexy scenes. The dark aspect of Violet's past, makes this whole book seem more real. It is sad, heartbreaking almost, so it makes you happy that she found Cole and he could ease some of that pain.

I think what made the book for me was Cole. He was sweet, yet cocky. He was a man.. strong yet vulnerable. I like how he handled Violet's stardom. I love how he handled his sister, even though he had to take care of her, he loved her. He would do anything for her, and that was the point in which my heart melted. The other minor issue, is that I don't think there was enough interaction between the two MCs for them to fall in love. But it still worked.

I hated the ending. It was cliffy and rushed, to the annoying degree. There were several questions that went unanswered. It literally felt like I got to the middle of the book and it ended. Other than that, the duel POV was great, I really liked Cole's voice. I read the book in one sitting and if I had the second part of this book I would've read that too! Don't let the ending deter you from reading this book, just keep that in mind when you get towards the end! Read it, seriously, you'll like it!

What a story, capturing my attention from the beginning with questions and concerns. I wanted to know more from the very beginning. The characters were amazing, the romance unbelievably sexy. The two main characters of the story with backgrounds completely opposite of one another, the way they come together and bond, is every woman's fantasy.

I loved Violet (Rae) from the start, feeling her emotions all wrapped up, her personality fit her character perfectly. Cole, 'Oh My' dreamy, sexy and utterly hot, captured my attention with his bad boy personality. I was fascinated by him, caught up in his life story and connected with him. There couldn't be a more charming male character than Cole Morgan.

I loved the story line, the plot and the characters. The author took me into another time and place with her descriptions and telling of the story. I didn't want the story to end, much less the romance to stop! Definitely a book I would recommend and give five dandies. If you are looking for a good romance, with amazing characters, plot, personality and love this is the book for you.

Live For You by Marquita Valentine is my first New Adult novel. Having read other books by Ms. Valentine, I expected a good time. And she brought it--what I didn't expect was to adore Cole from the first line--he's charming, caring, and broken. Oh, and smokin' hot. Everything I love in a hero! Older than his years, Cole tries to do right for everyone-his little sister, his brother, even the mother who far from deserves his love--but his responsibilities are crushing, and he falls back into dark habits he just can't shake.

Violet Rae is a successful country music singer on the run from a night of tragedy. Seeking solace from the glaring spotlight (and from herself), she runs off to her grandmother's But rather than a place to hide and lick her wounds, Violet finds Cole, a man who makes her question her future.

Violet and Cole are so good together, I'd like to see more of them. As well as Cole's poker club members--there's enough hotness to warrant several more books (hint, hint)! I'm very much looking forward to the next book in this series.

Cole Morgan a southern bad boy through and through with a troubled life, but oh so lovable.. Violet Rae Lynn, a sweet, talented southern girl with the voice like an angel. You just know the sparks are gonna fly, when these two get together and boy did they! This is one couple, I was really routing for to make it!

Yes, there is a cliffhanger, but not one that makes you want to jump off a cliff! I will be patiently waiting for Only For You (Boys of the South Series, Book #2) coming in August..

Here's just a little taste of Cole....
“My phone vibrates and I glance at it.
Good night. <3 Rae

That little heart emoticon gives me the goofiest swell of emotion in history. Hell, I think I could give Wyatt a run for his money. He’s the king of goof.

Night. I add a heart because it seems like the appropriate thing to do. Guess that makes me the king of goof’s bitch? Or is that love’s bitch?
Either way, this girl owns me.

Loved it! I really like that Rae was the famous star in this one instead of the guy; it was a change for me. I love Rae she is so sweet but can stand up for herself.

We get both points in this book which is probably my fav style of writing so you get into both their heads. Rae and Cole both have issues from their past (Raes more recent) and she is running from the pain and public humiliation she feels.

Enter Cole, holy heck is he hot. They have chemistry from the first month they meet and sexual tension as they neither want to give for different reason. When they finally give in holy hotness it is.

They both have secrets they have not completely shared so I know book 2 will bring heartache but I hope they get an HEA!

At the end of the book I did not see the whole situation coming with Jaxon so I can’t wait to see how that will play out and I want to know what truly happened that night to Rae. I don’t think it was her dun dun dun !!!!!

Cole we learn right off is protective of those he loves, "yeah it was." Cole grabs his sister, swinging her up in his arms. She buries her face in his neck. He narrows his eyes at me, then looks at my grandmother and says, "sorry, but we won't be joining y'all for breakfast. Thanks anyway, Miss Violet." Oh my word he has tattoos ladies (tongue will not stay in mouth) "tattoos run down each side of his tight abs, but my vision has suddenly blurred so badly that I ca't begin to make them out." Good lord Cole all sorts of saucy I'm in love, "let me change, first, since the towel offends your delicate sensibilities. Then I'll let you take the cake holder back home with you." I was pleased with the ending but you could tell there's another book on the way.

Straight out of country music’s capital Nashville – this soap opera storyline has it all. There’s cheatin’, fightin’ , lovin’ and singin’. And I had a blast reading every single word! New-to-me-author who hooked me with an entertaining series on which I’ll take a chance and follow for awhile.

Not really anything earth-shattering or new, but somehow it drew me in and I liked every minute spent reading all the spin stirred up on the pages. Couldn’t help but like the characters that are definitely damaged, hardened and scarred by life’s ups and downs. Fun-to-read while still giving readers a feeling of an all-encompassing storyline that includes laughter, angst, heartbreak, friendships among a variety of well-written characters, and a good dish of steamy romance.

My shelves might contain spoilers.
I've found my new FAV author.
And my new FAV hero.
If I put my FAV quotes from this book here, it would pretty much be half the book.
Totally didn't expect the sweet/intense story of Cole and Rae.
What a roller coasting ride. So much happening. So much to look forward to. So many stories that can still be told from the characters in this book.
And I can't wait.
I wish this wasn't an installment read and I hope "Only for You", (the conclusion of their story) will be out soon.
