Once upon a time there was a woman named Mary Jane. She was as old as dirt and as thin as a willow twig. What the hell was she doing riding all by herself thousands of miles to the Yukon on a big old Harley? It had seemed like a good idea . . . until her motorcycle broke down in Dawson City. And then somehow, it turned into an amazing miraculously transported in the back of a pickup truck to Whitehorse, given a job in exchange for meals and lodging, her motorcycle hooked up with a competent mechanic, and gifted a bike to use while hers was being repaired. So many unexpected serendipitous events! And the sharing of untold stories with the people she met as she patiently waited for motorcycle parts; sad heart wrenching stories, joyful full of hope stories, and funny laugh out loud stories. When her motorcycle was finally running again, she crossed paths over and over again with old friends and new all across the Yukon. In all her dreams, Mary Jane never envisioned it would turn out like this. Sometimes the detour is actually the road you were meant to be on.
