In the final book of this wonderful trilogy, Drake must now try to bring the cities under his control. Questions arise about his ability to do the job, his right to put himself in charge and the loyalty of the people around him. Sharon meets up with a friend from her past who has been very influential in keeping things as they were. Drake must decide if they are to be trusted. He must also deal with the jealousy he feels concerning Sharon and Rigel's relationship.
Drake is forced to face feelings he was sure he would never experience: uncertainty, love. Maturity and responsibility both have high costs.
Buildings burn, people die, riots ensue.
This is a masterful conclusion to an amazing series.
