This is the gripping biography of an underworld assassin who associated with some of Australia's most infamous felons and became dangerously close to many of the most powerful and corrupt police operating at the time. Exposing the double-crossings, brutal gangland wars and bloody reprisals of Sydney's dark underbelly, this is the true story of Mr Rent-A-Kill as it has never been told before.
I was provided an ALC of this book. The story of Chris Flannery and Australia's criminal world in the 1970s and 1980s was interesting and left me looking for similar titles for other countries. This book is best suited for someone with prior knowledge or a deep interest in the subject area, as it can be difficult to follow all of the names, locations, and how everything relates.
I listened to this on audiobook which was only released this year, unfortunately for the narrator the editing wasn’t great; they left in the stumbling over words, mispronunciations and occasional repeating words (which are things we all do when we read aloud, so nothing against the narrator).
Time to continue my rabbit hole of research with more recent information 👍🏼
