Inception (2010) AU Arthur is in his final year of high school and finds himself entirely too interested in the new English teacher. Entirely inspired by the Police lyrics ‘Sometimes it’s not so easy to be the teacher’s Pet’.

The king of fucking slow burns...man that was fucking delicious. Dear gods does it do Hot For Teacher so very very right. And the end...where it feels like everything is going to fall apart and it is just going to result in my crying crazy tears of emo sadness, it teeters right on the brink and then crashes beautifully in to completion. Just god dammit. it was good. i feel like i deserve a cigarette and I don't even fucking smoke. so much angst, so much drama, and soooo worth it.
WOW. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect story. It takes SKILL to take what is normally considered a cliche, overused, high school teacher-student relationship and turn it into an ORIGINAL fucking story. The characters were very mature, there was no unnecessary drama -- everything fit with the plot. The characters were so PASSIONATE about each other. The story was witty, hilarious, and fun to read.
I stayed up all night reading the first 9 chapters and read the last two right as I woke up. It was so great, I had a hard time putting it down when I went to sleep, haha.
Usually there's SOMETHING to complain about. I legitimately cannot think of anything to complain about. Except for when Eames whispered "Naughty" to Arthur and it reminded me of that psychotic barber from courage the cowardly dog and I just had to stop for a second because I got a little creeped out.
No, really. That's the ONLY thing I could find wrong with this story. AND THAT'S NOT EVEN A PROBLEM. That's just me looking with all my might to find SOMETHING because there's no way a story can be that perfect.
Needless to say I failed miserably.
This story is definitely worth the 5 stars, and is now one of my new favorites.
Though: Less italics please. Please. The buildup is the best part. It's wonderful and better than the sex and the end The sex is overwrought. Less is more. The end, ironically, needed a bit more confessional closure
Read this for the banter and the great relationship development.
Damn that was good. I know a lot of people don’t like excessive angst in their books and I agree that sometimes it’s too much. But personally, I think the best part of a romance book is the build up to when the characters finally, FINALLY get together. There’s a perfect balance that only some authors get, where the amount of build up to characters actually acting on their desires is just right. The reason this book is so good is because the build up to the romance is just amazing. LadyVader knows how to do angst and do it well. The romantic build up gets you invested in the characters until every interaction written between them is something you savor. It’s kinda like becoming more and more hungry and then finally getting that piece of cake or whatever food you’ve been craving. This book perfects the art of the romantic build up and the ending makes it all worth it. Also if you have no idea anything about the characters this fan fiction is written about that’s ok. I didn’t even know this was a fan fiction going in and it didn’t affect my reading experience at all! I recommend this for anyone who loves a good romantic build up and is looking for something new to read in the mm romance genre.
AU Eamur fic, which focuses on teacher-student relationship. But, don't fret, there is nothing between them until Arthur finishes school.
It's a lovely, calm story, which I truly enjoyed. On the angsty side, for sure, but it has some funny accents. This story has its flaws, but they all have ;) One of the best fics in this fandom.
I loved this story. It was stunning, amazing, brilliant, and the list goes on. The author's writing is phenomenal. I loved the intense prose and I was hooked from start to finish. Deserves to be published.
One thing that did bother me was that Arthur had quite a maturity in speech, unexpected in an 18 year old.
