So much better than the first book.
Loved Sara and Gideon.
Sara was a fierce warrior but when it to came to social etiquette and dating, a naive babe. Meanwhile Gideon was smitten, broken and struggling with his PTSD. How they healed each other, came together and finally fought the villain was amazing. They also had insane chemistry. Mystery in this once was better too, still I correctly guessed the killer.

When the only man you have given yourself to returns after one war and a self-imposed exile to question your ability as a bodyguard for his father, shouldn’t you be angry? Shouldn’t you have gotten over him and moved on? Sara is no delicate flower, she is a powerful being born and raised to be a warrior with special abilities and being a protector is more than just a job to her, it is a way of life, she is the Savage Angel.

Someone is trying to kill Gideon’s father, a powerful and wealthy man, weakened by ill health, but still able to choose only the best of the best to be his guards and he chose Sara and her father’s security company. Will Gideon accept her expertise and abilities or will he brutalize her emotionally, causing her to doubt herself as both a woman and a warrior? Is there something in Gideon’s recent past that has changed this once amazing man into the bitter and pained soul he has become? Is this why he lashes out at those he feels the most for? How does Sara keep him safe without allowing him to see who and what she really is? Is it possible that they need to find neutral territory to keep everyone safe? Is there such a thing with these two?

Leave it to Stacy Gail to create a very strong heroine and a hard-headed male who have enough chemistry to create explosive tension and heat as they dance around the obvious issues that stand between them. From page one on, there is no putting this one down as layer upon layer of mystery, danger and hidden passions are uncovered with flaming heat of more than one kind.

This one, provided to me by the publisher through Netgalley, was OK. I was actually pretty disappointed. I read Crime Wave in a Corset and REALLY enjoyed it, and was expecting something of a similar standard in a different genre, but it just didn't live up to my expectations. I hate it when that happens.

I should say that I haven't read the first one in this series, and, I'll be honest, I'm a forgiving kinda reader, so I like giving author's second (and third!) chances (only one, no two, authors are lost to me forever, and both because every single heroine they write has a back-bone of a rather flaccid squid), so I can't say that I won't read the others in this series, because I might, but I'll be starting from lower expectations.

Anyway, this is how I thought of this one..

- The heroine. The heroine is The World's Best at Everything to do with weapons and military STUFF. She even has a carefully designed personal office in Earth Tones. She is also a 6 ft Godd-ess. I thought of her as like one of those irritating sitcom "stars", with the tight little butt who does yoga at home and not because, like everyone else, she's a blimp or in front of a DVD coz she doesn't have a frikkin clue what she's doing. I can see her with 4 kids and have the pregnancy weight fall off after each one by simply breathing. Ugh.

- The hero. The hero is a bit more enigmatic, but only coz he's So Tough, and yet So Fragile. He also has an irritating habit of stroking the heroine's hands/face/whatever in a way that is supposed to be sexy and melting, but which is just rather creepy IMO. And his Old Pa is being targeted by some weirdo nut job, so he tries his best to distract the person in charge of the protection of his only living relative by getting into her knickers? Hmmm. So he wants to play hunt-the-sausage while his Dad gets bumped off? Sounds unpleasantly narcissistic to me, not just messed up from his horrible experiences while deployed.

It became moderately more bearable after about 50% of the way through, I have to say I really like how the author gives closure to this story, while also giving the series a plotline to chew on. It's not easy doing that well.

i did actually wander why the author went in for the sad, overused trope of the hero and heroine (having had a one-night stand a year ago) butt heads from the first page. It just doesn't work for me. Wouldn't most people in that situation just ignore the other party? And why make it so damned gut-wrenchingly angsty? The theme is angsty. The whole subject matter is angsty. I did think it might have shaken it up as a real dark, dark black comedy, and been kinda funny, sick and angsty.

Anyway, it was thankfully fairly short. It was OK. 2 stars.

The only man Sara Savitch has ever been with, Gideon Mandeville, has been in her thoughts for years. She has sat by his father’s side during heart surgery recovery. She’s written him and left him messages while he was serving in the military but Gideon has been despondent ever since their encounter.

Now Gideon’s father’s life is being threatened by a serial killer. Gideon's father wants to hire Sara and her families security firm as protection. Gideon has returned from his military service a jaded and mentally wounded man and wants nothing to do with Sara, especially not having her guard his father.

The last thing Sara wants to do is face the only man she’s given her heart to. For her family and her responsibility as a Nephilim, Sara faces her heart-wrenching task head on. Gideon is bitter and cruel but under it all Sara knows he’s hurting. Will she capture the serial killer before Gideon looses everything he holds dear? Will she survive the heart break of Gideon’s rejection? What will Gideon do if her secret is revealed? You will have to read Savage Angel and find out.

This is the second book in the Earth Angels series. The Nephilim aspect is very fascinating, a being hunted by both heaven and hell with their goal…to protect mankind from evil. Savage Angel is a kick butt paranormal action adventure with a side order of smoldering chemistry and steamy encounters.

This ARC copy of Savage Angel was given to me by Carina Press in exchange for an honest review. Publish Date February 4, 2013.

Suh-weet. One badass, warrior woman with the blood of angels running through her versus a guilt-riddled doctor nursing some emotional wounds. My money's on the badass every time.

Seriously, this was a fun book. Sara is... umm, how to put this nicely? She's not very relationship savvy, let's say. Scary things happen when her emotions get the best of her and being around Gideon tangles her up something fierce. She has secrets. He has secrets. The only thing they're absolutely sure of is that they both want to get in each other's pants and that's not really the best idea with a serial killer on the loose. Naturally, when those secrets spill out, things get sticky. And sweaty. And pleasurable. Well, once they work out the fact that Sara's descended from freaking angels and everything.

I liked the mystery behind who was stalking Gideon's father and I really liked how Sara and her team worked together to unravel the clues. Did I mention that I liked Gideon? The noble good guy pushing away those around him because he doesn't think he's worthy/doesn't want them to get hurt slays me. It worked, guys. It worked.

I'm kinda loving this series. Can you tell?

Overly long winded and not enough in the storyline to keep me interested at this point :(

Sara's family run a private protection firm and as nephilim they all have unique abilities that help them to keep their clients safe. They have also built up a worthy team of humans who work with them. For her whole life Sara has trained to become a warrior, she is skilled with weapons and in hand to hand combat and she isn't afraid of anything. Her latest job is to protect a close friend of her father who believes he is being targeted by a serial killer. This is the kind of job she excels at but things are complicated when she realises his son is back on the scene. Sara and Gideon had a one night stand a year ago and she never quite got over him, now he is back from war and determined to keep her at arm's length. Can Sara avoid being distracted by Gideon for long enough to stop the killer?

Savage Angel is the second book in Stacy Gail's Earth Angels series and I have to admit I didn't enjoy it as much as the first book. I was a little confused that there was no crossover of characters but that wasn't the end of the world, I think my main problem was that I'm not a huge fan of either main character. Although this wasn't my favourite book in the series so far it wasn't a bad read and I'm still looking forward to continuing the series, I'm very curious to see who will be the hero and heroine in the next one.

Sara is a skilled warrior and someone you'd definitely be happy to have at your back if you were in trouble. She is a fierce fighter and will do whatever it takes to protect anyone who is in need but she has absolutely no people skills. She has never dated before and her lack of experience shows when it comes to Gideon. I liked the fact that she was so protective but I felt she came across as a little to naive. She is a successful woman who has been working as a bodyguard for years and who has been groomed from birth to take over the family business. Surely she would need some ability to read other people's emotions and to just generally be able to connect with others to be successful at her job? Apart from her fighting abilities she came across as so much younger than she really was and I found it quite irritating.

Gideon was a complete ass when he first meets up with Sara again, I don't think I've ever seen a hero treat a heroine so callously in a romance novel! I actually wanted to reach into the book and punch some sense into him. It takes a while but we do start to realise why he acts the way he did, that didn't excuse it for me but it did at least make me feel a little sympathetic towards him. What I didn't understand was why he did a complete 180 from being as nasty as possible to push her away from him to giving into his attraction and trying to kiss her. There was no revelation that made his actions make sense and I was just bewildered at his change of heart. After the way he had behaved I expected some major grovelling from him before Sara gave him a second look but that just didn't happen either. The fact that she let him off so easily made me lose respect for her and it also meant that Gideon didn't grow on me either. Although Savage Angel is a lot longer than the first book I felt their relationship was incredibly rushed and unbelievable.

In spite of my problems with the romance I do like the world building in this series, the fact that the nephilim are all so convinced that they can't meet up with others of their kind for fear of bringing down God's wrath is an interesting idea. I also liked the fact that Sara's abilities were different from Zeke's (the hero of the first book), it will be interesting to see what other powers we will come across in future books. I'm curious to see if they'll learn more about their origins as the series continues and we were definitely left with questions regarding the murderer in this story that I think are going to be answered in the next book. I can't pretend to be the biggest fan of this book but I'll still be keeping an eye out for Wounded Angel in the hope that I like it as much as the first book Nobody's Angel.

Sara Savitch is a top-notch security expert and next in line to take over her family business, Lynchpin Security International. Unbeknownst to anyone but family and the trusted inner circle at LSI, Sara is descended from a warrior angel, which really gives her the edge when it comes to protecting her clients. Unfortunately for Sara, her next assignment, protecting her father’s wealthy friend, Noah Mandeville, will involve more than her cunning skills as a guardian.

Gideon Mandeville, Noah’s son, is back from a traumatic tour overseas as a battlefield doctor with the Army. Feeling survivor’s remorse and suffering PTSD, Gideon has distanced himself from those that care about him. So when the one woman that rocked his world (including a steamy one-night-stand the night before he deployed) shows up as his father’s body guard and head of security, Gideon attempts to discredit her and get her to leave.

I am going to say right up front that I really enjoyed this Savage Angel. The mythology is unique and captivating, the action quick and entertaining, the romance sweet and passionate, and the plot completely captivating. At times the descriptive detail provided by Ms. Gail paints such a realistic visual that felt I was right there, along side the characters.

First the storyline... Noah is recipient of heart from woman who was murdered suspiciously. Now the people who received her organs are also being killed. I was completely hooked right from the get go. Although I was able to identify the culprit almost immediately, the reason behind the attacks was a pleasantly surprising twist.

I adore the primary female lead in Savage Angel, Sara. I cracked up and simultaneously empathized with her inner monologue spiels about how she is clueless when it comes male/female relationships and how she wonders if she is a psycho-stalker! Sara is an extremely strong woman, and I am not just referring to her physical prowess. She stands up for herself and defends those close to her. For a large chunk of the story, Gideon sends all sorts of mixed signals, and I like that Sara, although internally hurt and confused, holds Gideon to the fire and doesn’t let him play her. Gideon was being a total jerk on purpose, and Sara wouldn’t take it. She’s the kind of girl I’d want for a best friend.

Then we have Gideon, a man who is emotionally scarred from his time in combat. He sends out mixed signals because he isn’t certain what he wants - or rather - what he deserves. I was disappointed that Gideon dismissed Sara as Noah’s bodyguard because she is a female. However, once I got to know him, it became clear how he was pushing hard on Sara as a defense mechanism. At times Gideon was such a tortured soul, so when he pleaded with Sara and asked if he’s done too much damage to their budding relationship, I totally swooned. And their first kiss... it knocked me off my feet. There is a lot of emotional intensity between Sara and Gideon.

Gideon and Sara are great together. They really are two halves of a whole. They compliment each other well and help the other to be a stronger, more complete individual. They aren't needy or codependent. I do think that Gideon may have healed from his PTSD quickly, but at the same time, he did emphasize that the scars will always be there.

I like the overall relationships between the characters - Sara with her dad, Gideon and his dad, and the Lynchpin team cohesion. I would love to stay and explore many of these characters, but based on how things were left in this book, I think that the focus of subsequent books will be on other "earthy angels" that we have yet to meet.

Savage Angel is a wonderful story in what promises to be an exciting new series. I look forward to learning more about other descendants of the Nephilim and what lurks in the shadows...

Although I enjoyed Savage Angel, the second book in Stacy Gail's Earth Angels series, there were a couple of things that niggled at me just a bit.

Sara Savitch is leading the security team for Noah Mandeville, one of her security firm's oldest and most loyal clients. Noah is recovering from a heart transplant, but that's not the problem. The problem is that someone is targeting every single recipient of organs from the same donor that provided Noah's new heart, and Noah's next on his hit list.

The complication is that Noah's son Gideon stole Sara's heart right before he left on a tour of Afghanistan. He's returned to help deal with the threat to his father's life, but he's been unwilling, or unable, to deal with what happened between himself and Sara at his going away party.

What happened was an absolutely incendiary one-night (actually one-afternoon) stand against a wall. One that neither of them has ever forgotten.

But Sara has no experience with relationships. None at all. She doesn't understand Gideon's complete lack of communication. His response to her message that his father had survived his transplant was was beyond terse.

Gideon returns from Afghanistan suffering from an extreme case of PTSD. Even though he served as a doctor, he saw combat. And came back shattered down to his soul.

Because Gideon is so screwed up, he tries to push Sara away and off his father's security team. He has no idea who or what he is pushing around, and his treatment of her is not merely Neanderthal, but frankly unforgiveable.

Then he finds out what he's really dealing with. Unfortunately, Sara finds out who their real enemies are. The world is nothing like Gideon thought it was. There are much greater evils abroad than he could possibly have imagined.

There are also angels. Gideon is just lucky that one of them loves him in spite of everything he's done.

Escape Rating B-: The first third of this story made me want to smack someone, possibly Gideon. It may be because I just finished the first book in the series, Nobody's Angel (see review), but the title Savage Angel is also a dead giveaway. I knew Sara was an angel, but the story kept trying to be coy about what she was.

Gideon might not have known what Sara was, but the readers do. That was so not the big reveal. It was just annoying.

Gideon starts out as more than an arsehole. I know it was the PTSD talking. And he is trying to push Sara away. Considering that he accused her of having gotten the job of leading his father's security team by providing sexual favors to his father while the man was recovering from a heart transplant, Sara forgave him WAY too fast. With her skills, she should have kneed him in the family jewels for that remark, and made him grovel for a few days. At least a few days.

On the good side of the equation, once the story picked up steam, it really got cracking. I could see where this tale feeds into a larger story arc. There's obviously a bigger bad operating behind the scenes, and the tension just got ratcheted up.

More, more!

Security specialist Sara Savitch, a warrior by birthright, has led her life protecting those who can't protect themselves. A novice in the relationship department, her "nuclear-hot" encounter with Gideon Mandeville, has never left her mind in the past year. She dreams of his touch and is disappointed that he hasn't kept in touch with her during his deployment in Afghanistan. Her latest job is to serve as bodyguard to his father, a family friend, and she's vowed to herself that she will stay away from Gideon and let go of her fantasies about him.

Gideon, suffering from PTSD after his tour away, makes the status of their relationship clear from the start, which just helps her resolve to move on. Although he acknowledges to himself that it was thoughts of Sara that kept him sane during his time away, he believes she is too good for him and makes it clear that he doesn't want anything to do with her. Believing that it's all for the better, Sara slides into her role as a bodyguard even if thoughts of Gideon still haunt her.

Savage Angel is the second book in Earth Angels series. Stacy Gail does a great job of bringing to the page the relationship, conflict and romance that surround Sara and Gideon's story. She provides the reader a great heroine in Sara. A tough as nails warrior with a vulnerable inner core, Sara is the perfect match to Gideon's alpha male hero. Their interactions were engaging, touching and explosive. I could truly feel what each character was going through. Their doubts, hesitation, lust and emotions were clearly expressed and easily palpable. I appreciated the fact that this was not an 'insta-love' scenario and that each took their time to question and ponder what they were feeling. It made their getting together much more believable to me.

The author did a great job of setting up the plot keeping me guessing all throughout the book about who was behind the murders. I also enjoyed the details provided about the Nephilim and how the paranormal aspects of the story were brought to the surface. The events and the pace of the story as well as the resolution to the plot were well executed, capturing my attention and even surprising me in the process.

Of course their sexual chemistry was amazing. Each and every time they came together you could feel the passion they felt towards each other, but I especially enjoyed their honest and tender moments together. With tempers flaring and heated looks along with the dialogue exchanged, their connection grew, which only helped me connect to them both and cheer them on.

This is my favorite book in the series thus far since it has all the elements necessary to make it a great read for me - interesting characters, range in emotions and off the charts hot chemistry! I'm certainly looking forward to the next book in the series.

I received this book from Carina Press through NetGalley in exchange of my honest opinion.

I quite enjoyed this book, mainly because it’s pretty sexy, it has a kick-ass chick (literally, she kicks some serious ass), a hot, smart, alpha male, a serial killer, and the legend of the Nephilim -- the result of unions between the Seraphim (warrior angels, or “The Burning Ones”) and humans.

Sara and Gideon hooked up a year before at his going-away party, right before he left for Afghanistan. Coming back a year later, scarred mentally and emotionally, he doesn’t believe that Sara is up for the task of keeping his father safe, yet he never stopped thinking about her. She’s what kept him sane.

Sara has never been good at personal relationships, and while she can kick some serious ass (previously mentioned), she is horrible at figuring men out. Especially the guy who left for Afghanistan without ever writing back to her... and she thought their one hook-up meant something. She also has to deal with the fact that her entire race is supposedly despised by God; they are seen as “intolerable abominations”.

So, when Gideon’s father contracts Sara and her family’s security company to protect him, obviously sparks are going to fly (semi-literally).
I have to be honest, I liked the first book in this series better. Nobody's Angel was a bit more adventurous, had a bit more substance -- yes, in this you get the detached warrior woman and the tortured-soul guy, but... it lacks a certain spark. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a perfectly fine book, but it seems to be more... for lack of a better word, forced. Like she had a great idea for a book, it turned out really well and someone said “hey, turn it into a series” and she went blank. I want to read more of this series, if only to see what other angels she can get in here. I guess I was just more captivated by the first book -- that was more of one that I couldn’t put down.

Fun bits of this book: due to the fact that she’s a Seraphim descendant, if she gets pissed off, Sara burns/melts things. Her body temperature is normally high and, at one point, she melts glass as she tries to stay calm. I can only imagine what will happen if she ever gives birth and becomes the stereotypical woman yelling at her husband. That would be funny. Also, I enjoy the way that the serial killer delivers messages -- I won’t ruin it, but it’s an interesting twist, given the Christianity-based nature of this series.

So this book gets a 3 out of 5 flowers from me -- I liked it. It was ok. If you need something to read, pick it up. It’s not a bad book, just not phenomenal.

Title: Savage Angel

Series: Earth Angels book 2

Author: Stacy Gail

Genre: Paranormal, Romance

Book Blurb: Feel nothing. Sara Savitch’s personal mantra has been hard to live by ever since her torrid one-night stand with army doctor Gideon Mandeville. Descended from the Seraphim, angels known as heaven’s soldiers, Sara may be an expert fighter, but she’s an amateur when it comes to relationships.

Physically unharmed, but still battle-scarred, Gideon has returned to Dallas in the hopes of regaining his faith in humanity—and in himself. Instead he’s walked into a nightmare. His father is on a serial killer’s hit list, and has hired a personal bodyguard—the very woman who has haunted Gideon’s dreams for a year.

As Sara works to build an impenetrable fortress around her client, she yearns to tear down the one around Gideon’s heart. With his bitter rejection of warriors, will he ever be able to accept her true nature? Sara must find a way to trust Gideon with her secret as the killer closes in.…

Thoughts Bekah:

First I will tell you this book isn’t very long. It is only 163 pages. Normally this would disappoint me, however; the story didn’t come across as rushed. Sara looks like every woman wants to look. She is in actuality “made in heaven.” She has no clue how to talk to men unless it is about the job. Who can figure out the way men think anyway? Gideon is a man’s man who is both handsome and strong, but has quite a bit of baggage from his tour in Iraq.

The problems start when Gideon’s father requests Sara be point as his security, while a serial killer is out for him. Gideon isn’t ready for a relationship after coming back from the war, but has been thinking about their one-night-stand the entire time he was overseas. Sara obviously never told Gideon what she really is, and is even more scared now since he never really spoke to her while he was gone.

Neither seem to know how to handle each other, but quickly make up for it in the bedroom. The serial killer plot gets pushed to the side for the middle of the story as you focus on the budding relationship between Gideon and Sara. The love scenes are nice and well written, but I would have liked to see a little more interaction between the two main characters before she goes all heroic and is thrust into his constant company.

All in all, it is a good read and perfect for a lazy Saturday afternoon.

Ok, so first of all, you should listen to this, because it will totally get you prepared for this book.

(Hot and Cold by Katy Perry)Vid on my blog - http://cecesreviews.blogspot.com/2013...

Savage Angel is a roller coaster ride full of hair pulling, screaming, pity and hawtness. And yes, it was totally awesome! While the first book, Nobody`s Angel, wasnt really to my liking, I felt like the series really picked up with this one. There was a lot more ass-kicking, and a little less confusing. And I swear, I could actually keep up with the mystery (- Insert angels singing-). While it hit my pet peeve a little bit about falling in love for no absolute reason and falling too fast, it wasnt too bad considering they had a past (although a brief one) and Im certain more time had passed in this book than the author had let on.

Gotta work on that, Miss Gail!

At first I wasnt sure how angels even fit into this, but I was glad that it didnt stick to the same Nephilim theme that made up the first one. I mean, diversity rules, right? The writing was better, and the plot a lot more easier to follow, and the back stories beleiveable. I just wish that it was a bit more longer, haha.

I loved how the emotions strung me along. I was so caught up in this book it took the battery dying on my Nook to tear me away from it, and even then I was reluctant to put it down. I finished it an a day and a half. The ending was perfect, and if your a regular reader on my blog, you know that I'm always on the lookout for a perfect ending. I guarantee you wont be able to put this beauty down.

I absolutely loved Savage Angel, and I cant wait to read the next one. One question that nags at me though... How are these characters connected to the ones in the first book? Will they all eventually meet? I hope so... cant get too much testosterone exposure, eh? ;3

I recommend this book to anyone looking for a short, hot read, or any fan of angels, fallen angels, Nephilim, or so forth. Not for anyone under 17, maybe 16. If you havnt read Nobody`s Angel yet, check it out. I dont see where you could go wrong reading out of order, either. You wont miss anything (but maybe an introduction into the Angel world).

I rate this book...

Sara's life and family heritage have always been about protecting others. It's part of her lineage as a Nephalim and as the soon-to-be-head of her family's security firm. A new job is turning out to be more than she bargained for, however. The client is the father of a one-night-stand she has never been able to get over. And to make matters worse, her former lover is back to complicate things even further.

Gideon has just returned from a gut-wrenching tour in Afghanistan. While he escaped physically intact, he is nursing some serious emotional wounds. He is not prepared to come face-to-face with Sara again. When he does, he handles it... badly. He uses cruelty and anything else he can think of to push her away, until suddenly, he changes his mind and lets her back in. Gideon and Sara end up working together to protect his father and to solve the mystery of who is targeting him. This, as they resume the fiery relationship they started years ago.

For me, this second installment in the Earth Angels series is much better than the first. And in case you were wondering, the two books are total stand-alones and you don't need to read one to pick up the other. But even with the vast improvement, there were still some major problems here. The big one is in the development of the relationship. Gideon's change of heart, going from a total bastard to wanting Sara back, was so abrupt it gave me whiplash. (Plus, it baffled me that any self-respecting woman could forgive his asshattery so easily.) Then, they are in love after four days together, two or three of which Sara was unconscious. Um, no. Also, the villain was painfully obvious. So much so, I was sure he would be a red herring. But no. It was him.

Like I said, though, this one was an improvement. There is more character development here. I felt like I knew Sara and Gideon on a basic level and understood most of their motivations. We had a little time for sexual tension to grow, so the bedroom action was more satisfying.

But, overall, I'm thinking this series isn't for me.

This was my favorite out of the two released thus far. The relationship was not quite as hurried in that the pair had met prior to this although didn't truly know one another.

Sara is a bodyguard/security specialist that has been put in charge of protecting an old family friend. The part that she dreads is running in to Gideon (the son) who she had a one-time extremely hot interlude with before he deployed to Afghanistan. She tried sending him emails and keeping in contact but he just disappeared. She's surprised when she runs in to him at the compound and he tests her abilities. He's a different man since he came back and she's not sure why he seems to hate her so much but she puts the walls back up she's so good at. This is a woman who is sure of her place in her family business but floundering on any personal interactions which made me sad to see. I understood it once you learn her secret but it was still a sad thing to witness.

Gideon was something else. At times I wanted to haul off and kick his ass with what he was doing to Sara but as you get to see more of what happened to him while overseas and watch him struggle with his feelings for Sara… you do forgive the man. He's sexy and damaged but only wants to protect his father and the woman he can't get out of his head. I liked how he came to terms with what she is but mainly I liked that once he realized exactly what he was doing to her he stepped back and admitted to being a complete ass. He's a great guy and man oh man would I not mind being cooped up with him. :-)

This felt like a much stronger storyline but both stories had their moments and I look forward to more.

For this review and more my blog

I utterly fell in love with Nobody’s Angel, the first book in the Earth Angels series so couldn’t wait to get my hands on the sequel. With great anticipation I settled down for the night with Savage Angel, I expected to love it but in the end I was more disappointed than I have been in a long, long time.

I just do not understand what went wrong! The first book was amazing but I really, really didn’t like this one at all. I am so devastated I could cry and struggle to understand how there is such a big difference between the first book and the second.

When I stop being melodramatic and I think about it I do know where this went wrong. It was the characters. If you read a series which features the same characters you know and love each time it is hard to go wrong, Earth Angels took the risk of being about two characters that were not mentioned in the first book, normally I like this because you can read them out of order but this time it really backfired.

The problem is that the two main characters in Savage Angel are horrible. I could find nothing to like about either Sara or Gideon. They both seemed to think they were amazing and were both rude and miserable to everyone around them. For me to like a book I have got to relate or at least respect the characters they have got to interest me in some way and unfortunately Sara and Gideon didn’t.

Savage Angel is an ok book full of unlikable characters which really put me off. I hope the third book in the series is more like the first and less like the disappointing second.

Savage Angel is an interesting paranormal love story. Sara has been harboring feelings for Gideon for a full year. They'd had a brief romantic fling and then he'd been shipped off to war. She is more than anxious to see him when he returns. But he's not the same man who left. When he pushes her away after insulting her, she loses it. She tells him to stuff his attitude and that he isn't interfering with her job, which is at this point is to keep his father safe from a possible serial killer. Since his father is adamant that Sara will be his protector, Gideon puts her to the test. When she uses her secret skill to save him, he's not sure how to react but when it almost kills her, he steps in to nurse her to health - some of which I'm sure isn't in any standard Doctor's bedside manual. They soon discover that to stop the killer they must work together.

It has some interesting twists, some I wasn't expecting but that made it all the more compelling. I didn't read book one but found this easy to read on its own. I liked that Sara was strong, independent but still showed some vulnerability when it came to Gideon and her feelings for him. Both Gideon and Sara are hiding secrets that they soon realize could destroy them and what they have. It's a good story, well worth reading.

I was given this book to review but the opinion is all mine.

Well, I definitely liked this book better then Nobody's Angel, the first in the series, but still could care less about the characters. I liked Gideon more then Sara since he actually had a personality even though for most of the book he was a jerk, but he had his reasons I guess since he was suffering from PTSD. I didn't get the flip he did in his feelings though. One minute he almost seemed to hate Sara then two paragraphs later he'll do anything to have and protect her. Sara was just too stiff for me and I understand that's how she was suppose to be since it was brought up repeatedly that she's not good with people, but she has a best friend that liked her, her sparring partner who has been with her since she was a toddler, the hacker seemed to be in awe of her and she sat with her father's friend during recovery from major surgery. Those all add up to her being good with people. I'm not sure if I'll read anymore books in this series.

Better than the first book but still not enough to make me want to read anymore of this series that could have been so much more.

Great intense suspense and Romance. Doesn't get any better than this!
Loved the Heroine, she is strong, of course she is. Her Hero also is very strong, but damaged from fighting for his country.
