This issue features a pair of all-new stories that set the stage for the next evolution in mutant adventures, FALL OF X, and introduces an uncanny new lineup for a new team book launching next year. PLUS: a preview of Jonathan Hickman and Valerio Schiti's upcoming mystery project.
I wasn't expecting much from this one, but actually really enjoyed it! It sets the stage for an interesting new villain and included some familiar faces. I kind of want more.
Artwork was great; vibrant colours and easy to follow action. Not too much narration, either, which was nice.
A fun freebie, and it's got me curious about upcoming issues.
I love the Teasers of a Gala & a new Captain in the first half of the book. The artwork and the questions it raised kept me into the short teaser. I’m looking forward to the storyline with the Sentinels and the man leading them.
The Second half of the book features an interaction between Wyn and Strange. Although brief, I think it foreshadows something very serious.
Great artwork. Great interactions between the characters. Just enough content to get you excited for the future stories.
I have been a fan of free comic book day since the beginning. The stories are always very good and the lead in to the new issues is always exciting. This book explores what happens when the mutants and humans have drawn apart too much. The situation only needs a catalyst, and someone is willing to be the first to take action.
Always been a Marvel fan! Loved the stories, but so wish I got read more of them and see where else they go, but I guess the cliffhangers are there to leave wanting more and seeing more of the respective stories!
Since I got my kindle I've been catching up on Free Comic Book Day releases (expect to see a lot more popping up on my feed LOL). I love Marvel and the Avengers but I'm not too familiar with X-Men (I know I know, this needs to change, I'm working on it).
Uncanny Avengers has the Avenger and X-Men teams intermingled. In the first story, someone has infiltrated the mutant island stronghold and steals the uniform of Captain Krakoa. This storyline was confusing, as it is obviously picking up story threads I have not read in previous comics. Another story has Captain America and Rogue working together to save the day. There is a reference to Deadpool at the end, and a mutant hunter is after a young girl. And lastly, a short introduction to a Doctor Strange and Wyn story.
