For The Love Of My Sisters

Rate this book
Muscles lost both his parents when he was only eighteen. It left him to take care of his two younger sisters. He had to grow up fast and become the man of the house so that his sisters wouldn’t be forced into the foster care system. When the bills begin to get overwhelming for Muscles to pay, he does the unthinkable. He gets trapped into the street life and causes his self to have beef with the notorious Jamaican drug crew known as the Junkyard Crew. They’re known to place their victims in cars and crush them into tiny pieces. Now Muscles is stuck and tries to pull away from the streets while trying to survive, making his sisters understand that everything he does is for the love he has for them.

2.5 because the story had potential but it just got lost in delivery. All too familiar story of a working class stiff who wants to make fast money. He chooses to rob drug dealers. The "twist" (sarcasm) is that he only targets Jamaican dealers due to a familial situation.

Sigh. Every thing Muscles does is allegedly done for his sisters. Yeah, ok. The number of grammatical errors was annoying (personal pet peeve) and the way the character's thoughts were part of the story just didn't sit well with me.

The death wish mentality of Sasha and her bff was absurd. The "Jamaican" accents and repeated use of "blood clot" just added to my frustration.

I love that damn Muscle. He stepped up as a man and a brother. He came so hard and I could do nothing but respect his game. I really had respect for him when he wouldn’t trying to be at there fucking around with other women when he had the woman he wanted n needed in his life. I hate it when they say that he had died. I want to him to be in a third but when he show up he showed out.

I really enjoyed reading Shameek A. Speight's story For the Love of My Sisters; it's a good, entertaining read about love, family and doing what you've got to do. I found myself easily picturing myself in Shawn aka Muscles' shoes, being the eldest myself and growing up doing my best to help take care of my sisters, I know how deeply Muscles cares for his sisters and how he would do anything for them. It's a really good engaging read, I just hope Muscles can outwit the Junkyard Crew and the F.B.I. and hope things work out for everyone and Muscles can overcome his hatred to be better able to take care of what's really important, his loved ones and crew. I think it's safe to say I'll be keeping my eye out for any new Shameek Speight books be they ebook or print, I like his story-weaving ability and style.

This book is a true The author can bring you into the stry. There are pros and cons to this boook. For the PROS . It is a truly inspirational story. It is very well written and you are cheering the hero on. For CONS The author has his own publishing company and has published over a dozen really great books BUT he needs to us some of his profits to hire a better editor. His book rushes the ending too much. I know he has others in the works for the series but the ending does need work.I will say that it takes a bit to read. This is only because of the coloqual language. After a bit youu are reading a bit faster. It is a shorter novel but because of this you need to read a bit slower. It is truly anawesome story and if you can get by the too frequent and too prolific sex scenes you will enjoy the book.

Muscles is left responsible for his two younger sisters after their parents die. He starts out doing things legitimately, but quickly learns that the streets of New York are host to many activities and opportunities for him to make easy money while also avenging the pains of his family history. After enlisting the support of some long time friends, he sets up an operation that is equal parts cunning and profitable, and the streets are never the same again. Lives are changed from every angle, and no one saw it coming. Shameek Speight did his usual spectacular job of storytelling here, and the happenings here are definitely not something one would anticipate or consider "run of the mill."

This was a really good book. Muscles showed what it truly means to make sure his sister's are always taken care of no matter what. The Jamaican talk threw me for a loop a few times but the more I read it the more I understood. I'm hoping Sasha will get her act together and stop wanting others to feel her pain. I'm ready to start part 2 and find out Muscles reaction once he finds out just how close he is at getting to Pistol.

Out cold

This book was about love and revenge. Muscles loved his sister's but his mother's actions Mess him up. This was a action packed story but sad too. His sister Sasha did not have to do what she did because of her having aides. Another reason to strap up. So much is going on in this book that you have to read part two. Great read good job. Real life!!!!! Things like this happens everyday somewhere... Big up to the writer.!!!!

I love it

I love it

muscles is the man. I like how he took matters in his own hands find a way to take care of his sisters. he did what he had to do. I hope in part 2 that sash would just slow and live her life happily. I think if she knew what her brother was doing she would slow down and live regular like other people because she love her brother and she wouldn't want nothing to happen to him because she loves him too much.

I've had this on my kindle for a while and I'm happy I finally got to it. Mr. Speight is very talented. This series drew me in and commanded my attention. I'm so ready for part 3. My only complaint is the ending of this one. I won't spoil it but I was shocked. At the same time I figured something like that would happen but I was hoping it didn't.

Truly heart wrenching

Muscles finally Cato his senses and tried to get out of the game but the game took him out. He finally found the man responsible for infecting his parents and sister but it was to late. There was plenty of back stabbing and I can't wait to find out what happened to Sasha. If only she had listened to her brother from the beginning

Great read

Great read

This story is a suspenseful thriller with lots of mystery. The ending was a cliffhanger, must be a part 2 in the works. if not, ending has no closure of the story.

Intriguing

As usual Shameek Speight hit another homerun with this series. I can't wait to read Part III. The author tells a mean story line that keeps your interest piqued. Again another highly recommended book that's why I give it 5 stars!

I rated this book a four because I liked the plot of a loving brother taking care of his sister's. Even after watching their parents die, the son gave up going to school to save them

Action Packed

Lots of action, violence and sex. Plenty senseless killings, yet I kept reading. Probably men may like this more than women. I had read few comments complaining of misspellings, when actually those words and phrases were imitating exaggerated Jamaican dialect.
