So what can I say about Keep Me Safe? This is an enjoyable and engaging read which at many times reminded me of a Lifetime Movie. Sadie has started a new life and moved on from her abusive husband. The prologue is stimulating and had me on the edge of my seat.

The way Sadie was able to start over is admirable. Her family was not aware that her husband was abusive and she dealt with all of that on her own. She was able to confide in her friend who helped her start over.

I really liked the pace at which Sadie and Parker's relationship progressed. The banter and flirting between the two were very cute. Parker is a cop and ultimately wants to protect Sadie once he discovers what she went through with her ex-husband. He's very sweet to her and shows her what true love is.

Overall this is a solid debut novel! It's an easy read that captures you from beginning. The plot is deliberate and with that at times felt slow. However, this is a good pick especially if you're in the mood for something light with a little suspense and a heartwarming love story. There are many touching moments that tug at your heart and in the end I smiled and felt truly happy for these two.

I didn't know what to expect of Keep Me Safe, I kind of went into it blindly, but I was pleasantly surprised at how much I truly enjoyed this book. I knew I was going to be hooked on this story as soon as I read the prologue to the book. This book had a lot of great qualities and it kept me intrigued all the way through. I had a hard time putting it down. This was one of those books that once you start you just know something is going to happen and as you turn the page you just keep wondering when it is all going to go down. This book was a great mix of a sweet love story and a suspenseful thriller. I will tell you that this book does have the insta-love element to it, but it really didn't bother me at all. I thought it actually worked with this story. Even though there was that instant attraction thing, the author still created a great pace for the characters to really get to know each other and not rush into a physical relationship. The only thing I saw as a negative was I felt the ending was slightly rushed. We got to the peak of the suspense at about 90% and then it just ended really quick. I think there needed to be a little more suspense throughout the story to make it a little more believable. But it didn't deter me from enjoying this story.

The story is about Sadie and Parker. Sadie is a broken girl who is trying to put the pieces of her life back together after a failed marriage to a really bad man. Sadie was a very strong and courageous person in my eyes. What she went through with her ex-husband Brent was horrible. It showed great strength for her to escape that situation. In this story Sadie is building a life on her own when she gets pulled over for speeding. This is where Parker comes in because he is the cop who pulls her over. After that meeting Sadie runs into Parker again at her neighbors house for a BBQ. From there they hit it off and decide to see what happens. Like I said earlier….I liked the pace the author took with these two characters. Parker was so patient and amazing. He never once pushed Sadie to open up, he knew she would do it in her own time when she was ready. Parker definitely makes my list for BBF.

I liked all of the secondary characters in this book. None of them really stood out to me but they were all very supportive and welcoming to Sadie and Parker. Of course this book has one person who you have to HATE and that was Brent. Even though he isn't in the story that much, what is in the story about him, I seriously wanted to junk punch him and he got what he deserved in the end.

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is look for a fast paced read with a great love story and some suspense to help keep you turning the page. This will definitely not be that last book I read by this author.

I was in the mood for a sweet romance with some drama. I got exactly what I wanted with this book. While the story wasn't loaded with angst, it had drama in all the right places. You will absolutely fall in love with Parker and his sweet, protective nature. It doesn't hurt either that he is a man in uniform...go ahead and swoon ladies!

This story reminded me of the beauty of finding your true love and I felt butterflies right along with Sadie. Her ex is everything Parker would never be. I stayed on my toes throughout as the plot left many opportunities for something to go wrong. I felt at any moment someone was lurking in the shadows waiting for the perfect time to strike.

Sadie experienced heartache, loss, abuse and managed to stay strong. Her character is a testament to the horror of domestic violence. Thankfully, Parker was able to keep the promise he made to Sadie. I felt her comfort as she was in his arms safe and sound. Every woman deserves their very own Parker!

“I couldn’t believe how I went from in love and happy to miserable and scared. How did I let it get that far gone?”

After years of being in an abusive relationship, Sadie has had enough and decides that it’s time to get out. After moving on, Sadie is trying to learn to live life on her own terms while she continues to deal with insecurities and fear. Sadie really is a strong and courageous woman even though she is working on overcoming her past. She really inspired me with her strength and determination to not crumble when things are uncomfortable. You can’t help being her cheerleader from the side lines and wanting the best for her.

“This is not your fault. You were a victim of domestic violence. Just because you take yourself out of the situation does not mean you’re over it.”

Parker, a hot police officer, a former love em and leave em kind of man comes into her life on one unexpected night and has Sadie wondering if she can move beyond her issues. Can she learn to trust another man again? Let someone in even when they seem trustworthy? He makes a promise to her and never waivers from it. I have to say, I loved Parker. That man was so gentile, loving, sweet, kind and patient. I could read about him all day long.

“You deserve someone who will treat you with respect and not lay their hands on you.”

“Let me love you the way you deserve.”

This story was one about trusting your instincts, new beginnings and learning what love truly looks like. There were moments that had me on the edge wondering what’s going to happen next, but then it would be over pretty fast. I think for me those scarier moments could have been explored more. I really wanted the story to consume me. The story line was good and I loved the relationships between the characters. I just didn’t feel totally committed to what was going on. However, I can say I really did enjoy the story, and the whole time I was praying that Sadie finds her HEA and all her dreams of what life could be like become a reality.

“I’d waited My whole life to have someone feel about me the way his eyes told me that he did right now.”

"I couldn't believe how I went from in love and happy to miserable and scared. How did I let it get that far gone?"

When we first meet Sadie Montgomery we find out she has been in an abusive relationship. Thankfully she has been able to get away from her now ex-husband and has started up a new life. Sadie keeps herself busy teaching band at a local high school. On her drive home one day she is pulled over and that is where we meet Officer Patrick Stevens.

Patrick is a single police officer. He is also the brother to Matt (married to Beth) who are Sadie's next door neighbors. Patrick is shocked to run into Sadie at a BBQ at Matt's house. From then on he just can't seem to stay away from Sadie. Drawn to her with a need to love and protect.

"I'll take whatever you're willing to give. I'd never push you to move faster than you want to go."

"I can't think of anything that I need in my life more than you."

This book has SWOON written all over it. If you are in the mood for hearts, flowers, and swoonworthy moments, this is the book for you. There is just enough pieces of angst to keep you wondering. You think you have it figured out, but do you really? Patrick is probably the most attentive sweet guy you will read about. He is soft and sweet and understands Sadie has issues she needs to work through. They take everything at her pace, never rushing. It's beautiful the way he loves her. Can Sadie work through her past and give Patrick her whole heart? I hope you will read and find out. I want Patrick for myself!! 4 stars.

Keep Me Safe is the debut novel from Elaine Breson, and an all around fantastic read. I was invested before I finished reading the prologue and truly enjoyed the story from start to finish.

Sadie is making a fresh start for herself after ending her tumultuous marriage. On the outside, she is a good-hearted teacher who genuinely cares for her students and friends. Inside, she battles ghosts from a past she can’t escape.

Parker is a police officer. SWOON. No further explanation about his character is needed. He’s an all-American stud who easily sweeps Sadie off her feet. His devotion to her and his family is admirable. He’s patient and understanding as Sadie copes with her past and struggles to find closure and move forward with Parker.

The plot is well-rounded perfection. There was laughter and heart warming moments which balanced nicely against the plot twists and heartbreak. I was so engrossed in this story that I finished it in a matter of hours. I could not put it down.

Elaine Breson delivers a phenomenal read in her debut novel Keep Me Safe. She’s won me over, and I’m officially a fan girl. I cannot wait to see what she comes up with next.

This is a story that will touch you. You will laugh, cry, get butterflies and start the process all over again. Sadie isn't as tough as she leads everyone to believe. She is still dealing with her past. Parker is the hot police officer that makes her question herself and if she can move forward especially since she is still damaged by her past. Can she trust anyone ever again to keep her safe? Can she trust enough to let anyone in her heart again in fear of being hurt? You'll have to read this wonderful new book to find out! I know you' ll love it .. I did! Great book!!

I was given this book as an ARC for an honest review.
I gave this beautiful book 5 starting over stars.
This is my first book that I have read from this Author.
Well of course, it's her Debut book:)

This is a love story about Parker and Sadie.

Sadie is a beautiful woman who was in a relationship gone bad, her ex-husband who she met in college and was absolutely wonderful to her, turns abusive physically and mentally as soon as they are married. Sadie is a very strong woman who has endured a life time of pain, in such a little bit of time. She gets out of this relationship with her now ex-husband Brent and tries to start a new.

She just moved in to a wonderful house, and has a great job teaching music just like she always wanted. On her way home to her place she gets pulled over for speeding by a gorgeous officer who lets her go with a warning, and this is where Parker comes in.

Parker is such a beautiful soul, he sees Sadie for what she is right away. Beautiful and worth loving, he gives her the space that she needs even when he doesn't know what she has gone through. He treats her the way she should have always been treated. With respect and admiration, he not only thinks she is beautiful on the outside, but so much more on the inside. Don't I wish that all men were this way. YES I do!! He is gorgeous, a cop, and just damn near perfect!!! Please make me one of these Elaine!!!

So can Sadie let go of her past and let someone in even when they seem genuine? She trusted Brent and look where that got her? She has a big secret too and that secret just might break her and Parker. Can she let her walls down?

I loved this story, it tore at my heart, but also gave me hope that there are second chances for people out there that go through what she did. This is a story of hope and Sadie finally finds her man, the one that she should have had all along. He is perfect, he treats her with respect and love, and is patient and kind. This is a beautiful story that will have you laughing, and crying with Sadie. These two were such a breath of fresh air. I loved how he just came in and swept her off her feet and how she refused to play the victim. Yes she still has her problems I mean who wouldn't with all she has been through, but she doesn't let that stop her from growing and trying to get through them. And she doesn't whine about them. She gets up dusts herself off and tries to make the best of what life is giving her. I am not so sure that I would be able to do that. This story was beautifully written, Thank you Elaine for sharing your story with us. I look forward to reading more from you in the future. You can believe that I am a fan now for life:) <3

4.5 stars...

Keep Me Safe is Elaine Breson's debut novel. For a first time author, I think she did an outstanding job at weaving a gripping, believable story about learning to overcome one's fears and learning to trust again.

Sadie's life was great, up until she married her college boyfriend. That's when everything changed. She had to learn how to protect herself from the violent man that her husband had become. When his last outburst puts her in the hospital, she finally has a way out. She has been planning for sometime to leave.

With a fresh start, divorce papers signed, she sets out to begin her life, on her own terms. She has her great friend Stephannie who has supported her through everything. She has a job that she loves and a new home. She couldn't ask for anything more.

Parker Stevens, hot, sexy, confident cop. Sworn to protect and uphold the law. When he makes a routine traffic stop late one evening, he never expects to run into the "pretty young lady" again. When she shows up at his brothers house the next night, he feels that he has to get to know her. He has never been one to settle down, he has just played the field. Will Sadie be the one to tame his wild ways?

Sadie is hesitant to let Parker into her life. With her past hidden from everyone but Stephannie, will she finally get the courage to let someone in? Will Parker be the one to protect her? To help her realize that she is not broken? Can he bring down her walls and show her what it is like to love again?

Overall, I am very impressed with Elaine's writing. She does a great job of character development and scene description. Her writing flows really well and her story has depth. She writes about real life trials and the chance for a new, better life. I was drawn in from page 1. She made me mad, frustrated and sad and near the end she had me laughing my ass off. I will openly admit that I am a friend of the authors, but I did not give her any special treatment with my review. She just has what it takes to be a really good writer. I look forward to what she publishes in the future.

Keep Me Safe could have went in so many directions. I found myself wondering why the author didn't take us down the predicted road many times during this book. I have to say once I got to the end, I realized she was pretty brilliant on the path she took us. Just when I changed my prediction of how this was going to go, and accepted that I was wrong earlier, she pulls the rug out from under me and gives me a shock.

Sadie clearly had a horrific marriage to Brent, so many scars both mentally and physically but one thing he didn't take from her was her courage. She was starting on her own now and she found comfort in the normal things in life. Then she meets Parker, the handsome cop who pulls her over for speeding. Later those two run into each other again and the bond is formed and the relationship started. Sadie is going to have to share her secrets with Parker and that frightened her, but he had a motive of his own to make sure she knew she wasn't shattered forever, nor was she broken, she was a survivor and his hero.

Parker is a woman's dream come true, while he isn't into the game playing, he is into making sure Sadie knows she is safe and loved. Both Sadie and Parker are written as well-adjusted, mature characters, I personally loved that. So many times the author could have taken us down the drama path but she kept it real and sane. There were a couple of intense moments in the book, but for the most part it was a feel good story that made my heart melt. Parker going from cop to detective in this story opened up many questions regarding the case he was working on. It was a refreshing turn of events in how this plot played out, once again, just when you give up on thinking you know it all, she proves you should of never predicted in the first place.

I really recommend this book to you readers, it will break your heart, restore your faith in love and give you the feel good moments that only Parker can deliver. Sadie was a strong woman, who even though she was a victim, she was always a survivor and had a plan at all times. Her life meant something to her and I admire that in a female character.

Sadie has a new house in Florida, a new job and a new life. She is trying to put her life back together after a horribly abusive relationship with her ex-husband Brent whom she was married to for five year. She is a music teacher at the highschool and is slowly starting to find herself again. She is such a strong character, the struggles that she is having dealing with all the excess baggage that her ex husband has left her with is extremely well written. She is scared but brave, wounded but still strong.

One day by chance she meets Parker, a hot local policeman as he pulls her over with the intention of giving her a speeding ticket. Sadie is surprised that she is attracted to him. This hotty turns out to be the brother of her neighbor and they run into each other again soon. It was so sweet to see them get together, he is everything that Brent wasn't. She is so relaxed around him, taking things slow. They flirt with each other through text messages and spend some time just getting to know one another.

The story was very easy to read, the writing had a nice easy flow to it. Some parts of it I thought were too predictable but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Sadie truly deserves to have a man that treats her with respect and love and she is enjoying it enormously. She is able to open up to him about her past and he helps her deal with it.

Of course there is more to the story than just a sweet love story. There is a possibility that the ex husband is stirring up stuff again. The secondary characters of the best friend and her family as well as the family next door really add some depth to the story. It was nice to see the importance family played here. I found this story to be a beautiful story that was easy to read and impossible not to enjoy. The writing was great and easily kept me focused. In keeping with a true love story the sex scenes were perfect, not too many and definitely not the sole focus of the story. I would give this book a 4/5 and would be interested in reading another by this author.

This book is about Sadie, a broken and abused woman, who has finally started putting the pieces of her life back together. She randomly meets Parker (or Officer Sexy as I like to call him) when he pulls her over for speeding and then again, when she finds out he is the brother of her new neighbor. Parker is your typical playboy, until he meets Sadie and decides that he wants more for once in his life. He is sweet, tender, patient, and treats her the way she deserves to be treated. Not only that, he understands what she has gone through as a victim of domestic violence, because he has seen so many horrific things with his job.

"I can't imagine something happening to you and me not being there to protect you from it. I want to be the one to keep you safe."

I did feel that the pace of Sadie and Parker's relationship was a little fast; I hate to use the term "insta-love" but, I did feel that it was at times rushed. However, this book still held my interest with a mix of suspenseful anticipation and second chance love.

"What if you are my happily ever after? I'll take the chance of you thinking I'm some clingy loser by telling you this; there is no doubt in my mind that I'm falling in love with you."

Sadie's abusive and psychotic ex-husband Brent is always in the background, with the reading just waiting for that other "shoe" to drop. I felt that while there was a semi-suspenseful buildup throughout the book, there could have been more to make it seem more believable. Also, I felt after this book-long buildup, the ending was a little anti-climatic and a bit rushed.

Have you watched the movie and read the book "Safe Haven" by Nicholas Sparks and the movie of the same name starring Julianne Hough and Josh Duhamel ? This is what Elaine Breson's new book "Keep Me Safe" reminded me of. Keep Me Safe starts off with the main female character Sadie stuck in an abusive relationship with her husband. The first chapter ends with Sadie hanging on for her dear life. Then chapter two starts with Sadie moving into her new house and being pulled over by the hunky cop Officer Stevens. Later she discovers that Officer Stevens aka Parker , is her new next door neighbor Beth's brother-in-law. As her romance starts to bloom with Parker and her life starts to look up, a killer is on the loose and women are being slaughtered and killed. Strange things start appearing for Sadie which makes the reader wonder -has her husband found her? Can Parker keep Sadie safe from danger or will her husband destroy everything she has worked to change in her life and this time will she survive the ordeal when faced with her husband ?

Keep me Safe was an intriguing book to read. I read the synopsis and was hooked at the beginning after my one click purchase. It is full of suspense/thriller, bullying/abuse, and a Hot Police Officer ;)

Sadie goes through a failed marriage of full of bullying and abuse which changed everything she knew to be true but has a chance to start all over again once she escapes on her own. Several months later, starting her new single life, she gets pulled over by the most gorgeous police officer Stevens.

Sadie soon realizes that Officer Stevens is family to her next door neighbors and so she has an opportunity to get to know him better. He's protective, sweet and seems trustworthy. Officer Stevens doesn't do relationships but looking for a change. They both deserve happiness but is Sadie willing to put her past behind to move forward or will her past return and bring danger.

Reading by the Book

Arc review.....

How this was a nice romance story about one man's goal to show his battered woman that there is a such thing as LOVE and support.

Parker was well raised and because of his job and upbringing he understood and was able to show Sadie that she was strong, beautiful and LOVED. I was touched by his actions and cheered when he kept his word.

There was great banter that kept the story flowing well and interesting. I will suggest it to many as a nice relaxing read. Thank you.

I had a really hard time putting this book down! I was lucky to receive an advanced copy. No spoilers here :)

The relationship between Sadie and Parker was so refreshing and it felt real in a way that kept me completely interested in what was going to happen between them. The live changing events that Sadie goes through make her a stronger person and I found myself expecting one thing to happen but then the story would take a different turn which kept me on my toes.

5 amazing stars!! This book had romance, suspense and humor and was just a great book! Sadie finally escapes an abusive relationship and can’t believe how quickly she has feelings for Officer Stevens. He is a true gentlemen and it’s hard for her to believe that he’s not too good to be real. She is terrified that her ex will find her, but can Officer Stevens keep her safe? You’ll have to read to find out! Great book. Definitely don’t miss this one! ~Kendra

Parker and Sadie are to freakin cute together. I loved how patient and loving he was with her, and I loved how even though she had been through a really bad relationship in the past; it didn't hinder her ability to open herself up to being with Parker. There is definitely something to be said about a book that doesn't focus on unnecessary drama, there was just enough to keep it from being too sappy; but not so much that you must the real plot of the story (the love between them).

This book was absolutely amazing!!! It had the combination of both humor, passion and it included realistic problems and not just some cheesy story about instant connection and all that bullshit.
Elaine Breson did a phenomenal job with this book. I felt all the emotion and I damn near cried at some parts (although I won't spoil it)! The characters were developed very well and the back stories were incredible. Sadie is an independent strong woman and I love how she reacts to other people and handles her situations so confidently, even If she is breaking on the inside.
Parker was so sweet! It was so adorable to listen to him talk to Sadie and about how much he loves her and his vow to keep her safe!!! It may have sounded ridiculously cheesy and kind of stereotyped. It was so beautiful.

The only thing I would complain about is the middle of the story, especially around Christmas. I found the rising action or middle of the story to b very fast paced as I they were rushing into the climax. I was a bit startled a the time gap between chapters during the middle. But, overall, and amazing read and I would definitely recommend to those who like Sarah Dessen, Megan Smith and Lauren Barnholdt.

I had a really hard time putting this book down, I just had to know what was going to happen. This story had a angst, drama and a sweet romance . Keep me Safe had me crying one second and smiling the next. This book was a fantastic read and a great debut novel from Elaine Breson.

Sadie is starting over after going through a horrific time in her life. With enough courage she was able to make change. Sadie is know living on her own and making changes, still lift with scars from her past she is trying to live "normal" life.

Parker was a HOT, SEXY cop. Hanging out at his brothers party Parker runs into the attractive young woman he pulled over the night before. Parker has never been one to settle down, but he feel a he need to get to know Sadie better.

"Keep Me Safe" - The story of Sadie and Parker. Sadie is rebuilding her life after leaving her abusive husband. She meets Parker, a police officer that is everything any girl could want in a man - he's patient, understanding, sweet and romantic - almost too good to be true! At times, I thought it did drag a bit - there was a lot of detail to Sadie's daily life - but I still couldn't put it down. And the buildup was great - you knew something had to happen but you never knew when! There were several times I thought for sure that she'd have a run in with her ex or be put in another dangerous situation. That is what made this a good story - there was a bit of anxiety as to what would happen and if something did, would Parker be able to help her and "keep her safe" as he continuously told her he would. Overall, a sweet romance with just a bit of suspense/drama.

I received an advanced copy of this and I loved it. It was such a beautiful love story. I really enjoyed reading it and did not want to put the book down. The characters are all relatable and you can't help but fall in love with Sadie and Parker. Sadie is so strong to be able to overcome her past.
