4 Intriguing Stars

A really satisfying first novel in The Plus One Chronicles, The Proposition delivers a promising start. Actions that make sense, emotions and actually two mysterious subplots, are the proper setting for our main couple to shine.
A book about fighters in the ring and in life. Blood, tears and what it takes to emerge a winner.
Kathryn Sloane is a woman broken.
Kat, the woman she was fighting so hard to become or Katie, desperate for any shred of affection.

I was pleasantly surprised with this short story from Jennifer Lyons. For a book with only 123 pages, I found it to have more substance to it than I would have expected. In fact, I expected the book to mainly be about a rich guy propositioning a woman and having lots of sex together! That was not the case at all, there was a billionaire; but Sloane Micheals ended up to be a retired UFC fighter who now owns at least 60 gyms named "Slam Inc." The gyms are all over the country, and they help train fighters, as well as many other uses. He has a very good friend who is dying of cancer, as well as a tragic past. His past is the reason he does not like to date women. He prefers to come to an arrangement with them, which includes hot sex and the odd night out to events that he needs to attend. Sloane is at a wedding when he comes across a woman who catches his eye. This woman ends up to be Kat, and she owns a bakery called "Sugar Dancer." Kat also has a past that has traumatized her to the point of panic attacks and fear. This has been slowly taking over her life, and she is not the same person she use to be. She has a leg that was injured back when she was attacked, and this limits her range of motion due to the plates and screws she has in there.
Even though she caught Sloane's eye, it was not love at first sight for Kat.
When Kat leaves the wedding she is yet again attacked, and caught in the crossfire is her close friend Kellen. Kat freezes during the attack and Kellen gets hurt. Sloane comes to the rescue, and helps the situation out. This begins some interaction between these two, and over time the attraction becomes more explosive and a proposition is formed.
This was a fast read, but there was never a dull moment. The sex was HOT; but I sure wish there was a little more of it! There is some mystery surrounding certain characters, as well as mystery surrounding Kat's attack six years ago. Everything is not as it seems, and given that this is a trilogy; I am thinking there will be reveals in the stories to come. I will most definitely be reading the next two books as I am eager to find out the answers to the questions that I have.

When she gets help from Sloane to learn self defense, I was cheering her on! I love the fact that even though Sloane is dominating, he is encouraging her to take control of her life, and learn how to protect herself. This couple is good for each other, and I can't wait to experience their journey towards a happily ever after!

We begin with Kat, former rich kid now upmarket baker, at a wedding where one of her cakes is taking centre stage. Sloane Michaels walks in to the room as a guest and she is mesmerised by his commanding presence and so, it seems, is pretty much everyone else. He makes quite an entrance and this is how he is described…..
He’s intrigued by her, thinks he recognises her from somewhere and prowls over to her but she’s skittish and manages to squirm away and runs to her gay best friend Kellan who is waiting in the kitchen for her. As she and Kellan try to leave they fall victim to an attempted carjacking and Sloane, an ex-UFC champ, has followed them out and wades in and saves them. As he attempts to get to know her in the aftermath he offers her his ‘Plus One’ proposition – they agree not to date, to be each other’s Plus One at significant social functions and to have hot sex! No ties. No commitment. No emotions – purely a convenient agreement.
So, this is how it all kicks off and I have to say that there’s a whole lot else going on too. The plot is multi-layered with Kat, her previous trauma, her current PTSD, her pushy family, her devious ex and Sloane, ex-UFC champ turned business man, his lucrative and successful chain of gyms, his difficult past, the death of his sister, his dying mentor and his overwhelming desire for vengeance just to mention a few which is why I was kind of surprised that this was released as a novella at just over 130 pages long. There’s more than enough here to flesh out a full-length novel.
The result of this is that the author has to indulge in a lot of telling rather than showing and it’s a little hurried because of this. I would rather have seen everything play out in a novel probably three times a long because there’s a whole lot of story to tell here and it’s a story that I was really enjoying.
I very much enjoyed Kat & Sloane and the pulsating sexual chemistry that was building between them. There may only be one actual sex scene but they share a couple of other scenes where they get close and pull away and this helps to build the anticipation well. I really did love Sloane – a tough, protective fighter that has fought his way up from rock bottom to be the successful man he is today and he never forgets where he came from and this is evident in the way he’s helping others in a similar situation he used to be in.
Kat is a victim of her previous trauma, caged by fear from an attack she can’t remember, suffering almost continuously from PTSD and flashbacks. There are people who would rather that she never recalls that fateful day. So, besides the intense relationship between Kat and the delicious Sloane, there’s a whole lot of mystery going on too which is only partly revealed in The Proposition and the final chapters and the conclusion set up the series beautifully and I’ll definitely be going back for more.

This was a quick, sexy and entertaining start to the series. The chemistry between Sloane and Kat was off the charts. The sex was hot! While both clearly have issues from their pasts that haunt them, neither comes off as whiny or frankly, pathetic, like many of the "damaged" H/h that are out there. (That may change later, but I'm hoping it doesn't.)
Kat, in particular, appealed to me as a character. She's strong-minded, independent and not afraid to speak her mind. Despite being terrorized by her loser ex-fiancé and shunned by her snobby family, she stands her ground and lives her life for her.
Sloane is just your typical romance genre Alpha so far. He's a fine physical specimen and a former UFC fighter. He's also the super wealthy owner of a chain of gyms and other fight-related businesses. Of course, he also has strong protective instincts and a knack for coming to Kat's rescue.
I'll be interested to see where this story leads as more of their pasts come to light. I expect the story to play out in a predictable manner, with them falling in love and staying together in a real relationship, but you never know. I'd really like to know exactly what it is that David is trying to keep Kat from remembering. Obviously, he had more to do with Kat being attacked than he's letting on. Did he plan the attack? Are her parents involved? I have too many unanswered questions not to read the next book!

Dang, I suck at reviews but a few friends are awaiting my opinion so here goes.. Short story shorter(the book is only 123pages long). This is not an OMG comes to Jesus tale. Its an OMG come to Sloane Michael fantasy.
Sloane is rich (shocker!) SEXY, Ex UFC fighter and owner of SLAM fitness center. He spots Kat behind a pillar at someone's wedding (did they say whom?)and heads directly towards her because ..yeah the usual, lust at first sight.. and as usual, her panties are drenched just from the sight of him, but she's not the least bit interested (yeah..okay!!)... At first I thought "not this shit again" Thankfully their reasoning for said feelings were explained and I accepted them without rolling my eyes. Kat owns her own bakery, much to the disappointment of her family. She's feisty, honest and likes being in control of her own life( thank you Jennifer Lyon), Sloane propositions her to be his plus one (date) to formal gathering in exchange for self defense training and sex with multiple mind blowing orgasms free of charge.. She eventually agrees (it was a no brainer if you ask me) and well, I don't like giving anything away so lets just say that's where the fun begins.. There's more to the story but I said earlier, my lips are sealed..
If you are looking for a story to inspire you this probably not it. Yes, Sloan is teaching Kat self defense, but do I suddenly want to be the next karate kid? NO! Did this make me want to tickle a pickle? GOD YES, multiple times!! (mission accomplished).. All in all I give this story two snaps up in Z formation

When I started reading this novella, all I could think about was that song Birthday Cake by Rihanna! Lol!!!
Well then back to the matter at hand!
Well this was a very sexy book! Not much action but plenty of sexual tension! Let me just add if there had been a lot of action in this book I would have been really worried because it was really short!!!
We have our usual ingredients
1. A broken female, scared and alone. Until He comes along.
2. A strong Alpha hero, who's usually a player but when he sees Her, forgets about all the woman he's ever been with.
So it was predictable and I didn't get any surprises.
But you know what??? It worked for me! So I'll be reading the next one!

Less than 150 pages, but it has so much going on. My critique is that Jennifer Lyon should have unpacked some of the initial issues, instead introducing more. Before I could wrap my mind around the first 3 hurdles, Lyon would hits us with 5 more.
Nevertheless, this was a good read. It has action, mystery (a little of whodunit), smexy times, an alpha male and a woman who is trying to find her strength in the midst of severe fear.
I hope that Lyon will use book 2 to explain at least half of the issues that she introduced in book 1.

Incredible & Sexy NEW Contemporary Romance series!

THE PROPOSITION is the first book in Jennifer Lyon's new series The Plus-One Chronicles and I'm already hooked!
After a brutal mugging and vicious attack 6 years ago, Kat Thayne suffers from panic attacks and is scared to trust anyone. Scarred on the inside and out, Kats passion goes into her baking at the Sugar Dancer bakery she owns. She comes from a rich and prestigious background but wants no part of it anymore. Kat's mom and her ex fiance, David are bringing a blockbuster Alzheimer's drug to market--its in the final stages of FDA approval and her parents and David have a very close relationship. Closer than Kat is to her own parents. They don't consider Kat smart enough to be a part of what they are working on but they want her working for their pharmaceutical company. Her parents can't understand why she is wasting her chemistry degree and time in a bakery when she could be working for them. It also doesn't help that they take the side and word of David over hers.
Kat has been having flashbacks of the attack and she knows something is off. The way her fiancé told the story of what happened during the mugging varies from the memories she's been having and he just blows her off by telling her she's just confused from the concussion and memory loss when she tries to get answers. He has her parents believing the same thing so there is no one Kat can trust or confide in. She's tired of being scared and not knowing the truth about what happened.
Sloane Michaels has everything. He's a powerful businessman, a UFC fighter, has lots of money, super good looks, a hot body and he's worked his butt off to get where he is today but he's still not content. He came from a home where his mother jumped from man to man looking for her prince charming to come in and swoop her off her feet but that never happened and Sloane and his sister were left fending for themselves. When his sister is brutally murdered, Sloane's whole life changes. He is taken off the streets by a man that becomes his mentor and helps him focus his rage and hatred into something productive. That's how Sloane started the UFC fighting. It was an outlet for his anger and aggression. Now, the man that murdered his sister is getting out of jail. Sloane has been waiting and training for over a decade for this day to come. Now he can extract the ultimate revenge. He's got it all planned out and nothing or no one will get in his way.
Sloane attends a party and sees Kat hiding in a corner of the room. He knows he's seen her before somewhere, so he approaches her but she does not remember him and leaves to get away from his attentions before she has a panic attack. While Kat is leaving she is attacked in the parking lot and Sloane is there to kick ass and save the girl. And that's when he remembers who she is. He met her when he was 18 years old working as a bus boy at the place Kat's family was throwing her a Sweet 16 party. Sloane HATED Kat back then. She had everything; doting parents, money, a pampered little princess that had everything while he had nothing. He can tell that Kat is not the same person she was back then and he is intrigued by her from the moment he sees her again.
After Sloane saves Kat he pursues her and makes her a proposition. He will train her how to fight and defend herself if she becomes his plus-one; attend galas, parties and events with him as his date. Oh yeah, and have hot & steamy sex with him! Kat is tired of being scared and not having a normal life. She hates the scars on her body and is self conscious about them but she decides it's time to change and take control back of her life.
Sloane and Kat's chemistry is off the charts! You can feel their intense attraction and their time together will leave you sweating. Their stories are both heartbreaking, inspirational and believable. You can't help but love both characters.
Jennifer Lyon has given us another incredible story with characters that will stay with you after you put the book down. You feel Sloane & Kat's happiness, sadness, pain, passion and determination as you read their story and that is the product of great writing. There hasn't been a book yet that Jennifer Lyon has written that I have not loved and I cannot wait to find out more about Kat & Sloane. I highly recommend this book to anyone that likes a sexy contemporary romance! I can't wait for May 28 to get here so I can get my hands on POSSESSION, the second book in The Plus One Chronicles.

THE PROPOSITION is the first book in Jennifer Lyon's new series The Plus-One Chronicles and I'm already hooked!
After a brutal mugging and vicious attack 6 years ago, Kat Thayne suffers from panic attacks and is scared to trust anyone. Scarred on the inside and out, Kats passion goes into her baking at the Sugar Dancer bakery she owns. She comes from a rich and prestigious background but wants no part of it anymore. Kat's mom and her ex fiance, David are bringing a blockbuster Alzheimer's drug to market--its in the final stages of FDA approval and her parents and David have a very close relationship. Closer than Kat is to her own parents. They don't consider Kat smart enough to be a part of what they are working on but they want her working for their pharmaceutical company. Her parents can't understand why she is wasting her chemistry degree and time in a bakery when she could be working for them. It also doesn't help that they take the side and word of David over hers.
Kat has been having flashbacks of the attack and she knows something is off. The way her fiancé told the story of what happened during the mugging varies from the memories she's been having and he just blows her off by telling her she's just confused from the concussion and memory loss when she tries to get answers. He has her parents believing the same thing so there is no one Kat can trust or confide in. She's tired of being scared and not knowing the truth about what happened.
Sloane Michaels has everything. He's a powerful businessman, a UFC fighter, has lots of money, super good looks, a hot body and he's worked his butt off to get where he is today but he's still not content. He came from a home where his mother jumped from man to man looking for her prince charming to come in and swoop her off her feet but that never happened and Sloane and his sister were left fending for themselves. When his sister is brutally murdered, Sloane's whole life changes. He is taken off the streets by a man that becomes his mentor and helps him focus his rage and hatred into something productive. That's how Sloane started the UFC fighting. It was an outlet for his anger and aggression. Now, the man that murdered his sister is getting out of jail. Sloane has been waiting and training for over a decade for this day to come. Now he can extract the ultimate revenge. He's got it all planned out and nothing or no one will get in his way.
Sloane attends a party and sees Kat hiding in a corner of the room. He knows he's seen her before somewhere, so he approaches her but she does not remember him and leaves to get away from his attentions before she has a panic attack. While Kat is leaving she is attacked in the parking lot and Sloane is there to kick ass and save the girl. And that's when he remembers who she is. He met her when he was 18 years old working as a bus boy at the place Kat's family was throwing her a Sweet 16 party. Sloane HATED Kat back then. She had everything; doting parents, money, a pampered little princess that had everything while he had nothing. He can tell that Kat is not the same person she was back then and he is intrigued by her from the moment he sees her again.
After Sloane saves Kat he pursues her and makes her a proposition. He will train her how to fight and defend herself if she becomes his plus-one; attend galas, parties and events with him as his date. Oh yeah, and have hot & steamy sex with him! Kat is tired of being scared and not having a normal life. She hates the scars on her body and is self conscious about them but she decides it's time to change and take control back of her life.
Sloane and Kat's chemistry is off the charts! You can feel their intense attraction and their time together will leave you sweating. Their stories are both heartbreaking, inspirational and believable. You can't help but love both characters.
Jennifer Lyon has given us another incredible story with characters that will stay with you after you put the book down. You feel Sloane & Kat's happiness, sadness, pain, passion and determination as you read their story and that is the product of great writing. There hasn't been a book yet that Jennifer Lyon has written that I have not loved and I cannot wait to find out more about Kat & Sloane. I highly recommend this book to anyone that likes a sexy contemporary romance! I can't wait for May 28 to get here so I can get my hands on POSSESSION, the second book in The Plus One Chronicles.

OMG, I LOVE IT!!!!
Kat is a fighter! Yes, there is the panic attack but she doesn't run! She fights for what she believes. Gotta love a girl like that!
And Sloane, I will NEVER tap three times! Bring it on!!!
The book is definitely oozing hot, the only thing is, it's a short read. I love the mystery that plays around the story, I can't wait for it all to unravel. That means, off to the next book! And the good news is, it's already out!!!

3.5 STARS....Good start to a series...very short, Sexy read. I liked both of the main characters. There is a mystery that is about to unravel and I'm looking forward to it. Excited about book 2. Recommended.

The character dynamics are sexy and intense I liked the way they interacted. both characters have something going on that we don't quite know about yet, there are just hints, but some stuff is definitely not right
It wasn't high literature, but I'm always a fan of a protective alpha male, and it was highly refreshing to see two characters be completely honest with each other and give each other the benefit of the doubt when there was an apparent misunderstanding. It was also nice to see a heroine with backbone and a brain who wasn't obnoxious or a loner.
Even though she's been hurt in the past, both physically and emotionally, she's still a fighter. She may hide behind her baking most of the time but try to push her and she stands up for herself.

By all accounts I should not have accepted this book for review. First, it’s book one in a trilogy and I’m not a fan of this new trend in drawing out a couple’s story into three parts. Also the hero is a billionaire, and besides Gideon Cross, it’s rare that a billionaire hero works for me (mostly because they are assholes). But, I’ve read Jennifer Lyon’s paranormal books in the past and enjoyed them, and a quick scan in Goodreads showed pretty favorable reviews so I took a chance. And guess what? I liked it!
Kat Thayne suffered through a brutal assault years ago, which left her with a permanent limp. Her then boyfriend, David was there when the assault went down, but Kat has no memories of that night. Kat also came to the conclusion after the attack that David was too controlling in her life and broke up with him. David works for her scientist parents though, so he isn’t out of her life for good. For the past five years she has worked in a bakery (that she now owns) and hides behind locked doors. Kat grew up wealthy and privileged, but now as an adult she lives her own life, and has a very rocky relationship with her parents.
Working at a wedding one night, displaying one of her fabulous cakes, Kat meets Sloane Michaels. Sloane is an ex-UFC fighter turned gym owner, working his way up from having nothing as a kid. He is now a billionaire and when he looks at Kat, he recognizes her. Once he has her name, he realizes he was the dishwasher at the country club where Kat celebrated her sixteenth birthday. He takes an interest in her, luckily, because as she leaves that night, her roommate (a man named Kellan) and her are attacked, Kellan is stabbed and Kat is frozen unable to do anything. Sloane, who had been looking for her, comes to the rescue and saves their lives.
There are several things I like about this book. First, Sloane grew up with nothing and is now super rich, while Kat had the privileged life, but now looks upon money with uncertainty. I liked how their roles are reversed. Sloane, for all his wealth isn’t an asshole. Hooray! He has charity programs to help troubled youth, he encourages his employees to use his 60 gyms to become stronger people. He has a mentor who is dying from cancer and this is killing Sloane so much. Yet, he isn’t a deep, dark broken man with a huge secret (at least not in book one) which we see so much of in billionaire heroes.
Kat abhors violence, so when she finds out Sloane is an ex-fighter who still teaches fighting methods, this puts her off. But Sloane slowly convinces her to use fighting as self defense, and shows her how she can have confidence, but that doesn’t make her a violent person.
I like the tentative relationship these two have going on. Sloane does want Kat in his bed. He tells her this often. Is is very overprotective? Yes, he follows her around everywhere. He is bossy and slightly arrogant. He can’t be perfect, okay?! But he isn’t super pushy and he respects her. I like that. I didn’t love that they have already fallen into bed together, as I think Kat needed more time for that to happen. But we’ll see where this goes in book two.
This being book one of a trilogy, it ends with a lot of unanswered questions. There is a mystery brewing surrounding her parents and her ex-boyfriend. And Kat still has a ways to go before she is mentally healed. Book two comes out in May.

The Proposition is an exhilarating start to The Plus One Chronicles series. Ms. Lyon wrote a story of two people who has had a difficult past and though they survived, both have not fully healed. Finding each other has just given them an opportunity to move forward and maybe giving themselves a chance at happiness.
Kat Thayne had learned to keep herself safe by avoiding crowds. She has found comfort in baking and keeping herself out of any prying eyes. Who can blame her? She was brutally mugged six years ago and again finds herself defenseless to another attack. Luckily, Sloane Michaels, ex-UFC fighter happens to interrupts and saves her. Sloane, the alpha male that he is, feels the need to claim her *cough* I mean protect her… from then on, he just can’t stay away.
Right from the beginning, you know that Kat had great fears due to her past. She was determined to live her life in seclusion but when the opportunity came, she was more than willing to move on. I was intrigued on how Ms. Lyon was going to break her out of that shell. Ultimately, she had given her a powerful tool…Sloane.
Let me tell you, watching Sloane give her that power back was exhilarating and inspiring. And I have to say, sexy as hell! Oh yes, There were several panty-dropping scenes that just leave you with no choice but swoon over this bad boy. He’s a hot billionaire UFC fighter for God sakes. As soon as the first scene where he takes off his shirt (to save Kat from muggers), I knew he belonged to my book-boyfriend-list. He is sexy, strong, possessive, protective, rich, determined and every other cliché you can think of that an alpha male can possess. Sloane Michaels is an alpha male personified and I love him!!!

Her work will definitely be an auto buy for me from here on. Speaking of which, The Possession (The Plus One Chronicles #2) will be out soon and THAT installment I expect to be good if not better.

I am absolutely in love with this story and the characters! Jennifer Lyon has really out done herself with this one! The character dynamics are sexy and intense, the story is so full of emotion, from the very first page I was hooked! I'm not usually one for serial books because I want the beginning, middle and end in one book but this one makes it worth the wait. By the time the next one releases I will be so excited to read it I'll probably fly right through it.
Sloane Michaels is the epitome of dark and dangerous! The man is big and bad and oh so sexy! From the moment he is introduced he captures all the attention and poor Kat doesn't stand a chance against him. He's definitely one of my new favorite characters. I can't wait to see how this revenge thing plays out because he's pretty focused on it. Kat is a great characters too! Even though she's been hurt in the past, both physically and emotionally, she's still a fighter. She may hide behind her baking most of the time but try to push her and she stands up for herself. I loved that about her! And the two together, whew, they are pretty hot! The sexual tension is through the roof and even with the internal conflict between the both of them, I can't help but hope they to end up with their happily ever after.
As for the other characters, Kat's parents are totally blind and the ex seems like a total sleeze ball. Who locks themselves in a car while their girlfriend is being beaten to death with a bat?!? Yeah, I hope that guy gets what he deserves!
All in all this was a fantastic read! Everything about it was good, the suspense (though I'm hoping for a little more in the next one), the sex scenes and especially the characters dynamics! I can not wait for the next installment in this series, it's killing me to not know what happens next, especially after that ending! I definitely recommend this book. The Proposition [Review update] Currently listening to audio version of this story. Sloan and Kat are still two of my favorite characters and the male narrator, Ryan Hudson, does an outstanding job of bringing Jennifer Lyon's words to life.

Okay, my bad. I couldn't resist the bad pun, but it's the truth. Jennifer Lyon is a talented writer no matter the genre--sexy contemporary romance, sexy mystery, sexy paranormal romance...Are you sensing a theme here? In this first of three novellas in the Plus 1 Chronicles, Jen introduces the reader to two powerful yet broken characters. Sloane Michaels, ex-UFC fighter turned business entrepreneur, controls his world with a strong hand--except for death and Kat Thayne. He doesn't get involved with women. He makes a proposition, negotiates the "deal," and when he's ready, he moves on to his next Plus 1.

Start of the "Plus One Chronicles" featuring Kat Thayne, daughter of prominent and wealthy parents, who meets up with Sloane Michaels, retired UFC fighter now billionaire, and negotiate a 'friends with benefits' type relationship. There are baggage issues, a history of violence, and dysfunctional family issues to work through but this is a romance read so I guess it's assumed things will work out.
The beginning was slow and a little hard to digest. But. It did pick up and become much more engaging once the two central characters got to the negotiation stage of their relationship which occured near the middle of the read. My biggest issue though was the cliff hanger ending. I'm actually a fan of cliff hanger endings as long as the book I've purchased has provided a complete story to end off on. Just as things started to get interesting this book ended with mysteries and unanswered questions that is suppose to encourage me to buy the second book in this series(?). What is David hiding? What is Drake's significance in this story? Will Diego and Kellen get their cake?

I really liked this book. Some have categorized it as erotica, but I did not think it was - just my opinion. The book starts out where the heroine Kat is existing in a shell. She was mugged about 5 years ago and now has panic attacks. She recently bought a bakery and is starting to get her life back together. In walks the hero Sloane, he sees her at a wedding that she provided the cake for and is instantly drawn to her. After she gives him the brush off, she is carjacked after the wedding and the Sloane comes to her and her friend's rescue. He does not take no for an answer and continues to pursue her. Eventually, she agrees to have a sexual relationship with him. He teaches her self defense and is extremely protective of her since his sister was murdered years ago. Sloane owns a bunch of gyms around the country. There is a mystery surrounding Kat's mugging 5 years ago dealing with her former fiancée. She remembers it differently. This does not get resolved in the first book. It ends on a cliffhanger so I will definitely be reading the next book.

WOW!!!! I have read alot of serialised books recently, and if I am honest most of them were rubbish. Or in the main, suspiciously like other books I have read.
This book is different, the story is fresh and offers lots of titbits of future revelations to come.
No similarities to the Fifties, the Crossfires etc, etc.....I LOVED IT! My only complaint is I have to wait until May for Part 2, and September for Part 3!!!!!
Not good, but if they are as good as Part One they will soooooo be worth the wait. Well Done Jennifer, you have delivered something original, interesting and a little different from alot of the dross out there at the moment, I am eagerly awaiting the continuation of this story.

'He looked like death, very sexy very intriguing death'
The first time Sloane laid eyes on Kat he was eighteen working as a dishwasher in a country club and Kat was celebrating her sweet sixteenth.
The second time Sloane saw Kat he was the one dominating the room and she bought the cake.
Sloane despised Kat the first time he had seen her, despised her for having the perfect life when he had lost his Sara. Yes he despised the girl but the women that stood before him now was a different story. Kat aroused things within him that had been long buried, she intrigued him and left him needing to know more.
When Kat is heading for her car to leave after the party she is attacked by two men. Her friend Kellen arrives to rescue her but is stabbed in the process. The next thing Kat realises is that the man from the party is subduing the attackers and helping her and Kellen survive.
For Kat this is not the first time she has been attacked,five years ago while with her boyfriend David she had been viscously attacked leaving her with partial memory loss and the scars that everyday remind her of that night. All Kat wants is to remember and to find away to overcome her fear.
Sloane need to get closer to Kat he doesn't want to be drawn to her he doesn't need the complications of a relationship right but he can't stay away. He knows he must be careful as he sees the deep hurt and mistrust in Kat's eyes but he also sees the fire that wants to burn so he pursues her to offer her a PROPOSITION he hope she will not refuse.
The characters in this book have their pasts but Jennifer Lyon has made sure although they might be slightly broken they are far from destroyed and definitely not weak.
I found myself engrossed in The Proposition from the very beginning and fell in love with the strength and emotions of the characters and their stories. Praise to Jennifer Lyon for an amazing start to a new series and I look forward to the next instalment.

Jennifer Lyon has found her niche with the PLUS ONE CHRONICLES.

A very nice read that kept my interest and made me want more! Although, it’s a short read, many things are happening. Kat experienced a brutal attack some years ago and that changed her life. She doesn’t really remember what happened to her and she’s suffering from panic attacks. Sloane is a man who is seeking revenge and when he meets Kat he found one more purpose in his life.
I liked Kat a lot. Although, she experienced something very traumatic, she found the will to change her life and do what she really wants. Yes, she’s still afraid but it’s only logical and that makes her even braver, because strength is to keep going even if you’re afraid. She’s hiding her scars and that makes her insecure but with Sloane’s persistence she showed them to him and that means that she is willing to accept herself.
Sloane is definitely larger than life. He’s mysterious, sexy, powerful and protective. We don’t know the details but we know that he wants revenge for the death of his sister. Although he says that he doesn’t want a relationship, I don’t believe it’s true. I think that he has convinced himself in order to believe that a “plus-one” agreement is enough.
I enjoyed this novella very much and I want to read more! I recommend it to all the fans of this genre!

Nom Nom Nom Sloane and Kat are a steamy, hawt couple who's plus one arrangement heats up as the lines blur in their relationship. Not a huge billionaire dominant storyline fan but this one works. Sloane doesn't treat Kat like an idiot and Kat is more then able to hold her own against his strong personality. I like that he always gives her a choice and doesn't hold them against her.

Ok so I usually avoid trilogies with a passion. I can't say why I have a dislike for them I just do. This series is different though. The books are quite short but Ms. Lyon does a great story.
Sloane Michaels was dirt poor and has always been in control of everything that is until he meets Kat Thayne hiding in a corner at a wedding reception. Sloane has a presence about him that commands a room. He is intimidating and always gets what he wants and I love him.
Kat is trying to piece her life back together after being mugged. She suffers from panic attacks and at the best of times she has a bunny in headlights attitude. She avoids Sloane after their encounter and bails to the kitchen. Kat and Kellan get carjacked and are saved by guess who? Yes you guessed correctly Sloan Michaels. Duh otherwise there wouldn't be a story.
Sloane has a lot going on in his life and has patiently been waiting to get what he wants most revenge. Things change when he meets Kat. They become each others plus one in exchange for that Sloane offers the one thing that she can't refuse to learn to fight. Sloane helps Kat deal with Dr. David the dickhead (God I love that name)
Ok so I think that is all I can write for book 1 onto book 2.....
