Can you really blame me? I have been secretly in love of this girl for years.
She's funny, easy going, with a killer smile and a body that I want to get lost in. Who am I to question fate when we get snowed in at the cabin? I have a ton of kinky things I want to try and we have the freedom to try everything together...
When my friend Ryan and I agree to a true ménage à trois relationship with Jenny, our love ignites taking us on a thrilling journey of passion and love.
What can I say here... I'm on kind of a menage kick & I've enjoyed this author's work in the past so I figured this would be a slam dunk. Boy, was I wrong. I'll admit infidelity isn't something I enjoy reading about but by the same token I'm open minded enough to realize that shit happens; so, I was willing to press on but then each subsequent major life decision was handled in equal measures of trite & flippant it just became a little too much for me. Trashed your relationship with your best friend? Yup! No biggie. Move all three people into you & your boyfriend's apartment? Sure, why not? Did I mention that the boyfriend in question she cheated on with her best friend's boyfriend? At any rate, I think I just kept expecting it to turn into a fun romp or something but at about 60% it started trying to get serious about triad dynamics & I had to throw the towel in. Ordinarily I'm one of those people that has to know how it all comes out but in this instance my cup of care is bone dry. Read at your own risk.
Purch Amazon July 14, 2018 DNF in book/part #3. I've been trying to finish this for over a year. It's not a bad erotica/smut read but I don't have the patience for this one. I don't like the characters nor the way it's written. So, I'm putting me out of my misery.
In this book, we have Jenny, who is dating Ryan. She is best friends with Kelly, who is dating Dan. They have all been friends since college. Jenny & Dan went up to his family cabin for the weekend, as they were to meet up with Kelly & Ryan. However, a snowstorm hits, and only Jenny & Dan actually make it to the cabin. Snowed in, and now, without power, it's just the two of them, they talk, play board games, cook. Dan confesses that he's always had a crush on Jenny, and it was a shame they didn't actually get together first.
Blissfully in Love
This is the 2nd novelette in the series.
Jenny expects a terrible scene and her best friend Kelly does not fail to deliver. However, her longtime boyfriend surprises her by reacting far differently. Ryan loves Jenny too much to give her up, but also recognizes the passion that she and Dan share. In an act of deep love for her, Ryan brings Dan into their bed and into their lives. A ménage a trois of one woman loving two men is born.
Blissfully Broken
This is the 3rd novelette in the series.
Dan, Jenny and Ryan have chosen to live a legitimate ménage a trois. Both men are in love with Jenny and are willing to share her. Dan moves in with the couple and the three experiment with the sexual possibilities of two men loving one woman.
Blissfully Taken
This is the 4th novelette in the series.
Dan & Jenny have become committed to one another. Dan knows he wans to be with only Jenny. Jenny wants to be with Dan, but, at the same time she also thinks things are moving quickly. She doesn't tell him this of course. Jenny is still heart broken that she hurt Ryan and Kelly. She knows she'll never have their friendship again.

Red Phoenix can write some seriously scorching scenes without going over the top. Like many of her other books, I wanted to step inside her fictional world and live for a little while. Reading while I was supposed to be sleeping was as close as I got, unfortunately.
Blissfully Undone is a beautiful (and hot!) love story set in the mountains of the US West. Jenny, the female protagonist, is a likable and relatable character. She will ensnare you with her fallible and down-to-earth inner thoughts and actions. It’s easy to picture yourself, or your best friend, as Jenny.
The story itself is equal parts uplifting and heartbreaking. You will smile, you will cry, you will need a new set of panties.
Who should read this book? You. You really should.
Who should not read this book? People who are offended by self-honesty, even if it is a difficult situation. People who don't want to read about more than standard M/F missionary encounters.
Blissfully Undone is an exploration in relationship dynamics and sexual taboos. Red Phoenix writes in a way that makes these taboos so much more approachable. I thinks this is a great introduction into the world of Red Phoenix. It’s 4 scorching stars that requires you leave your repression at the cover.
The story opens with a couple’s trip between Ryan, Jenny, Dan and Kelly being interrupted by a snowstorm. While Ryan and Kelly are unable to reach Dan’s family cabin; friends Dan and Jenny are snowed in with not much to do but explore the underlying attraction they’ve always ignored.
Dan is a sexual artist and Jenny his muse. Don’t believe me, wait till you read what he’s does with snow and try to deny his creative genius.
The events from this trip changes the coupling and friendships between all involved. There is a ménage, infidelity, sabotage, acceptance and a true love story that conquers all.
I loved this book. This is one of the first books I have read by this author and I am excited to read more. This is a romance story that heats up the pages between friends. This is a well developed story that kept me reading until the end. I was pulled into the story by the characters right from the beginning. They are connectable and engaging. They made the story feel realistic and made it fun to read. This is a story about four friends who were suppose to meet up at the cabin until a snow storm hits and leaves two on their own. Will they give in to attraction? There is only one problem they both belong to someone else. What will happen when Ryan decides to share Jenny? I loved the characters and what they brought to the story and the entertainment. The attraction and chemistry is off the charts and they made me want to find out what happens next. I highly recommend this book and this author.
I didn’t like that the entire book was about cheating I didn’t like that the girl that had been cheated on was the evil bad guy I didn’t like that the guy that had been cheated on was such a terrible boyfriend and lover that he needed pointers I didn’t like that the only two people in the whole book that seemed like rational and normal human beings were the two cheaters I didn’t like how the book is marketed as being a ménage but definitely does not end up that way During the ménage part the original boyfriend is possessive and jealous so it was not a fun part either
I was thrilled when I was given the chance to ARC read and review Blissfully Undone for I was introduced to Dan, Jenny, Ryan, & Kelly in 2020 in Blissfully snowbound.
Four friends were going on a weekend getaway to Dan's family's mountain cabin. As usual Dan & Jenny's better halves put work before getting ready to go away. Jenny & Dan are left to do all the shopping & go ahead to get the cabin ready. The snow comes quickly and the amounts are more then what they were calling for trapping Dan & Jenny together for 5 days, while their significant others are stuck back in the city. You will enjoy the ways the keep each other entertained. This is a bad Sanrio especially when feelings are felt for another. I don’t want to give anymore away, but when one becomes spiteful they need to remember they can hurt more people along the way especially themselves.
Note if you are looking for Brie & Sir don’t be disappointed this a different but great story. If you are not open minded & don’t love graphic & different dynamic of Sex this is not your book. I love everything I have Read by Red Phoenix she is a beautiful person, great story teller who has educated & empowered me & so many other readers
I started reading Red's books when I was recommended Brie's Submission. While this book is totally different it does not disappoint. The only draw back for me was the beginning with the cheating and the fact that the description made it seem like the entire books would be about the threesome. Though the threesome scenes were steamy and sweet it's not the whole story. I would definitely read again and plan on recommending this book.
Red Pheonix was stunning in this friends to lovers book. I loved the sensuality and erotica that was written about two friends that found each other in a blizzard. Love love it!!! Just added to my fantasy bucket list!!!
This book made me feel like I was in the book. The scenes in the book are so intense and detailed. But the best thing about this book is how love always prevails.
Well, it started out as an erotica/ porn story, then somewhere in the middle, the author tries to turn it into a love story. Full of unlikely situations (she cheated on her long-time boyfriend with his best friend, and he later forgives her and even stands in as her maid of honor - uh, so not happening!). It was like a train wreck- and I can't believe I read it to the end. I guess I thought there would be some redeeming quality. No, just bad.
Well this is not on a par with Brie's submission. Somehow I just could not connect with the characters and for some reason it just wasn't that hot, the menage seemed forced and I really didn't feel the love. Sorry not Red's best work, which is a shame as I feel she is a talented author.
"No, my love. I am your complement, but you are the prize."
Blissfully Undone was another pleasent read from this author. I loved how this book was packed full of surprises I didn't see coming. It did have a Insta love feel even with all the characters back history. However you do need a open mind with this book. The only thing I will reveal is there is cheating. Aside from that I found the book easy to read with fairly likeable characters sure there was flaws but what book doesn't have those. I found both Ryan and Dan's characters easy to like. Menage's are some of my favorite romance troupes and this trio definitely had my attention. Even though they had a unconventional start it didn't take away from the romance or steam. Jenny, Ryan and Dan's chemistry definitely kept your kindle pages HOT. If I had one favorite thing about this book it was the ending! Everything about it was elegant and beautiful. The attention to detail painted you a perfect picture as if you was there with the characters.
"You are my muse, I am continually inspired."
Jenny was a easy heroine to like. She was timid, adventurous, and sweet natured. I loved her open mind and free spirit. t times I felt she came across weak but overall I understood the men's appeal to her. Sometimes I also felt her actions didn't match up to her personality. A lot of times I felt she didn't fully own up to her mistakes and wrong doings. Jenny did a lot of changing throughout this book. I think her character needed to discover what she truly wanted and I felt by the end she achieved that and you got to see the true Jenny.
Ryan was one of those alphas that easily left you charmed. His love for Jenny truly knew no bounds. His will to please her was seriously admirable. Ryan also had a lot to develop and grow throughout this book. I loved how his character was not affraid to show his vulnerability. However my heart truly hurt for his character the most. I hate how everything turned out for him. I felt he didn't deserve the hurt and pain blissfully undone threw his way. I felt if anyone derserved a second chance it was him.
Dan was another alpha who was easy to fall under his charm. He was adventurous. He was attentive in everything he did. He had you melting with every word out of his mouth. Dan had this sweet, nurturing nature that made you feel safe and at ease. When Dan decided to crank up the heat he held nothing back with his dirty mouth, and filthy ways. He definitely had me fanning myself more than once. If I had any complaints with his character is I wish his timing would have been better. His actions, like Jenny's caused a lot of sadness and hurt to others.
*4 STARS* Well earned for this uniquely written menage.
Just WOW!!! Hot doesn't come close to describing this book. And if you are familiar to Red Phoenix, you know that is her style, and one of the many reasons I enjoy her writing.
A snow storm trapped, Dan and Jenny, alone together in a cabin, that was meant for them and Ryan and Kelly (Dan and Jenny's girl/boyfriend) to share for a couples weekend getaway. But what kept Dan and Jenny in, kept Ryan and Kelly out.
So much happens while Dan and Jenny are together, alone, no power, nothing to do. How would you pass the time if it were you and another that you have had an attraction to for years? Exactly! I rest my case.
Blissfully Undone, has every one of my emotions coming out, at one point or another. I have never condoned cheating on your partner (married or otherwise) but, how would you have handled this situation? So there was some anger, that turned to an ahhh, sweet kind of emotion, for Dan and Jenny, really did have a connection. Then, Extreme, anger, again, this time directed at Kelly, for all the Drama she caused, because, yeah, I can understand, where she's coming from, her boyfriend and best friend, betrayed her. But you know what? Get over it! Move on! My next emotion was sadness, that is what I felt toward Ryan. Again, he felt betrayed, that his best friend and girlfriend had connection, that he and Jenny never had. But he didn't want to loose 1: His girlfriend and 2: His best friend. So he proposed a comprise. He (Ryan) and Dan, share Jenny. That works for a while, but, feelings come into play. Who does those feelings belong too? I'm not going to tell you. You'll have to read the book to find out the answer to that question.
As in true form for Red, this book is full of twists and turns, ups and downs, rights and wrongs and throw in a lot of drama, jealousy, sadly I must also say heartache. Once you've got all these elements. You've got yourself a #1 best seller, that you should one-click to buy.
I was gifted Blissfully Undone, in exchange for an honest review.
Two couples, Ryan/Jenny and Dan/Kelly, have been friends since college often traveling together. Dan and Jenny head out to the cabin owned by Dan’s family, while Ryan and Kelly finish up work before heading out. Stopping to pick up supplies Dan and Jenny decide to stock up on convenience foods which both Ryan and Kelly hate. They make it to the cabin as a snowstorm begins. They soon realize that Ryan and Kelly won’t make it to the cabin before the storm hits and they will be snowed in. Dan admits to Jenny that he is attracted to her. After the shock of his admission sinks in, Jenny admits to herself that she and Dan have quite a bit in common. How will they make it through the week after admitting their mutual attraction and what will happen when Ryan and Kelly finally make it to the cabin?
I really liked the character of Jenny and ran through all of the emotions in her storyline in this book. I wanted her to be happy but was sad for her in several places in the book. I want to find my Dan in real life.
I love the way Red Phoenix writes the characters in her books. Most of the characters are people I want to be friends with and as the story progresses, I can see their growth. There is always a character I don’t like but they are still well written. Often times when watching a movie or TV show, I can correctly guess what will happen next but with Red’s books I rarely figure out what will happen next or an assumption I make is wrong. I enjoy that Red can surprise me and keep me guessing about what will happen or what a character will do. I like to have long blocks of time to read Red’s books. At the end of a chapter, I am left wanting to know what happens next, so I keep reading normally finishing the book in one sitting.
4 Star Review of Blissfully Undone (Blissfully #1-4) by Red Phoenix
When Dan Hayes and Jenny Cole and their partners plan a weekend away, nothing goes to plan. Both are attracted to each other and when they get marooned together during a blizzard their attraction bursts into flames and they give in to temptation.
I’m not particularly moved to read books that have partners cheating but I have enjoyed previous books by Red Phoenix so I dived it.
What will happen when reality sets in and they have to face their partners? How will Kelly and Ryan react to their betrayal?
Jenny’s heart is torn between Dan and her partner Ryan. However when she admits to Ryan that she also has deep feelings for Dan she is blown away by his acceptance and all 3 soon move forward into a menage relationship.
The chemistry between them all is smoking hot but trouble will soon test their relationship.
Hell has no fury like a woman scorned and Kelly is certainly that woman. She is determined to get her revenge after all Jenny was her best friend and she betrayed her by falling in love with Dan.
There were certainly some unexpected twists and turns that had me gasping in shock at times. At times the angst and stress were palpable as tensions increased.
Will Kelly destroy the happiness Jenny has found? Will Dan, Jenny and Ryan make their relationship work? Or will it all become too hard and fracture?
Blissfully Erotic Blissfully Undone intrigued me from the start. The action started immediately and never ended, so many twist and turns. I honestly wasn't sure what was going to happen or which way the story was going to go. The story is about 4 friends from college, Jenny, Ryan , Dan and Kelly. Two couples, a week-end getaway, a surprise snow storm that prevents the other half of each couple from getting to a secluded cabin. Hidden desires are revealed and Jenny and Dan give in to some of these desires...You may say you will never do something but honestly you don't know what you will do until are in that position. Hot sex scenes commence and you see a sexual awakening in Jenny. While they did "cheat" they do not attempt to hide it and are honest with their significant others when they arrive at the cabin. All the emotions you imagine come out, anger, betrayal, rage/revenge, lust, desire, sorrow, regret. One minute the story seems to be going in one direction and then suddenly everything changes. As Ryan tries to get Jenny back a menage a trois begins and the characters will not be the only ones trying to catch their breath. I couldn't put the story down and read it in one sitting. I do so enjoy Red's style of writing - I love that I feel I know the characters in her books. I'm sure this book will lead you to read her Brie series and you will never be the same. Welcome to the erotic world of Red Phoenix
Snowbound with your best friend's partner, what could possibly happen?
Blissfully Undone tells the story of how love and relationships can and do change. Jenny and Dan are dating each other's best friend. The four of them are set to spend the weekend at Dan's family cabin in the mountains. The pair get to the cabin first while their workaholic partners, Kelly and Ryan, are set to arrive later. A blizzard happens and they get snowed in for several days. No partners, no power, no phones, just the fireplace to keep them warm and a supply of food and wine to get them through. During their time in isolation they discover they have feelings for one another but try to remain true to their partners.
The story takes some interesting twists and turns that show how the relationships change. The characters take on roles, one becomes an unhinged villain, two, then three, become lovers. Selfishness and doubt creep into the threesome and now that relationship is in danger.
Never fear we do get a HEA. I know my review has stripped the tale down to the basic facts but I prefer to let you form your own opinion of how it all plays out. The story is well written and the characters are well defined. I could not put the book down.
I've read a large number of Red's books in the past few months and I'm hooked. I was excited to try a new story by her and boy was I hooked. I started reading it during my lunch break and almost cried when I had to go back to work. Like all of Red's booked, you're instantly drawn in and hooked. The characters are so realistic and you can easily relate to one or two of them.
I was a little surprised at first with the concept of being unfaithful, but at the same time, it allowed these characters to grow and realize that you don't have to settle in life. Now, saying that, don't go ruining your relationship or BFFs just for kicks and giggles.
The love story between Dan and Jenny is more common than people give credit for. Sometimes, you come to realize things a little too late and you can't change anything, but others you can. Power to Jenny for putting up with a bat crap crazy "friend" (using that term lightly because Kelly really needed to be committed by the end of this story) and for standing her ground when it came to her relationship with Dan. Overall, I loved the book... and I'm sad I already finished it. If anyone wants a good read with some drama, comedy and real relationship issues with a good dash of sex, this is the book for you!
Love triangle of sorts filled with angst, lust and raw passion! Be ready to be swept away Blissfully!
Experimental moments between friends leads to lustful and emotional memories. Stranded in the snowy cabin, Dan and Jenny take friendship to the next level but when their counterparts arrive in a days time, what happens to the close knit circle they have come to live by? Boundaries are crossed, new found pleasures are met and tribulations are tested to everyday life.
Truly didn't see Red's words unraveling the way it did within Blissfully Undone, but that's just how Red Phoenix engulfs you with her creativity, her passion of writing/storytelling. As a lover of her Brie Submission series, Blissfully Undone is steamy, a page turner... it's just WOW!
I really loved the chemistry between Dan and Jenny, the emotional side to Jenny and love she had not just for Dan but for Ryan as well. The snowed in 'encounter' I would say was a little predictable BUT Red switches it up, spins the tables throughout the story and the kindle never left my hands once I began reading. Great addition to my Red collection of novels!
-This book is not an insta-love - This book does not contain cookie cutter characters AND - This book will not give you warm fuzzy feelings from beginning to end.
NOW, What you will get is a veritable word treasure chest brimming with:
Emotional Gems (every color of the rainbow 🌈) I went through so many different emotions while reading this, that I had to put it down and walk away a few times. Frustration, anger, lust, bitterness, joy, happiness, confusion, elation, fear, love, hate, resignation, desire, contentment... The list is endless. Feeling so many emotions over a book are the testament of a good writer, and Red Phoenix is one of the best at invoking these in her stories.
Diamonds 💎💎💎 The main characters are multifaceted, and had me cheering in one's corner one minute and wanting them to TapOut in the next chapter (seeeee... eM😢TiOnS!!!)!
Pearls of Wisdom Loving someone isn't the same as being in love with someone "My only advice is to be honest and respectful of each other. You can work through most anything if you remember that.” - Doda
I loved this book. It is in Red Phoenix's true form. It is full of love, sexual scenes and even a threesome thrown in for good measure.
It starts out with two couples who are supposed to go up to a cabin in the mountains. The couples are Ryan and Jenny and Dan and Kelly. Well Ryan and Kelly got held up at work so Dan and Jenny started out before them. They got to the cabin as a snow storm hit and were stranded there for a few days.
Dan has real feelings for Jenny but she doesn't know. He tries to hit it to her but she doesn't get it. Then they finally have to get in bed together to keep warm. I think you can figure out what happens next.
When Ryan and Kelly get there the welcome is not what you would think it should be. They all go back home and the air is thick back home. Ryan decides to talk to Dan to figure out a solution to the strife going on between them.
Kelly is slowly losing it over the whole situation.
There is a lot more to this story. There are many twist and turns with a wedding at the end. To find out who get Blissfully Undone by Red Phoenix.
I absolutely fell head over heels for all of the characters. The way the words are artfully written to describe every feeling and sensation is mind blowing and made it seemed like I was actually there. I love how Red can make her readers feel this way. The connection between the characters and how they interacted with each other is unique in a very special way. Not all three of the main characters had a happy ending, but it wasn’t a complete terrible ending for the one. This can totally happen in real life, it’s that believable. I laughed with them, got angry with them, cried with them, the whole way through. A beautiful and heartfelt story of companionship, lust, slight devastation, and unfailing devotion, love, and family.
I have read so many of Red’s books (29 of them) and love each one of them. I love how she can make it as though I know all of the characters in real life. She has never failed to deliver a perfectly written story each and every time.
Lots of sexy times but more of a beautiful love story
POV: single HUMOR: yes F BOMBS: yes SEX SCENES: yes CLIFFHANGER: no SENSITIVITY WARNING: no condoms or asking if clean/tested, cheating, fifth base, sharing (MFM, no m/m), betrayal
Four good friends, Dan (and Kelly) and Jenny (and Ryan), planned a cabin trip. While waiting for the other two to arrive, Dan and Jenny get snowed in and that's when it all starts. Although I don't condone cheating, I admit the chemistry and sexy times between the MCs are hot and you can't control who you fall in love with.
Easy-to-read, clear details, and romantic page turner. I enjoyed each of the distinct characters, but my favorite is Dan: a considerate and tender lover, the friend who will always be there for you, supportive and sharing strength - I claim him as my book boyfriend! A sexy, sweet read with angst, heartbreak, growth, and the bonds of a strong love.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
I had the pleasure of reading Blissfully Undone years ago; however, had not reread the story in a while. I started reading and literally could not put it down... I finished it in a day. This book had the perfect balance of romance, steamy scenes, drama, thriller aspects, and more.
This story is the true definition of the heart not only wanting what it truly wants... but also not being able to stop true love. Despite the various challenges that came about, the characters embraced not only who they were, but what made them happy, even when the pain of hurting others or the pain of what others died threatened to tear it all apart. It is a quality that many of us struggle with in life... the opinions and actions of others often threaten to tear away the bliss in one's life. But, having someone who genuinely loves you and is willing to fight for you is a rare commodity that this book executed perfectly.
Yet another Red Phoenix book I have fallen in love with all over again. I could not put it down. I loved it and would highly recommend it.
Overall: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 Couple: Jenny & Ryan, Dan ******** Okay, let me start by saying I went in blind with this book, and I'm glad I did because I would not have read it had I known what was going to happen. "That"situation is usually a hard "NO" for me, but somehow Red has a way of writing that allows me to keep reading. This book was wonderful and took me on a journey of friendship, love, betrayal, and stepping outside of your comfort zone. I usually have a harder time connecting with characters in third person but with this book and Red's writing style I found it easy to read and connect. I enjoyed how realistic the story felt, the chemistry between all parties involved was so hot and intense. I also loved the growth of the characters throughout as they had new experiences and feelings. I had no idea how this story would end, and I would have been okay with a couple different outcomes, but I'm happy with how it concluded. ******** Characters: ♥︎♥︎♥︎♥︎/5 storyline: ★★★.5/5 Spice: ♨︎♨︎♨︎/5 Enjoyment: ★★★★/5 POV: Third Person Series: Blissfully books 1-4
mat: Kindle Edition I love the book description but there was more to it this book than two friends, Dan and Jenny, snowed in together, realize they have chemistry and entering into a menage relationship with Dan's best friend Ryan. What the description failed to say is that both Jenny and Dan are in relationship with other people. Dan with Kelly and Jenny with Ryan, Dan's best friend. I had a hard time liking either of the main characters because they choose to cheat on their partners. Then then have a love affair and enter into a menage relationship with Ryan. Jenny was a bit naive if she thought.she could get away with the affair unscathed.
That being said, Kelly was kooky and unstable and needed to let go.
I think if both Dan and Jenny were single and entered into a menage with Ryan where no cheating was invoked I could have liked this better
