Picking up where Book #2 ended with the cliffhanger ending, it had me worried as the book started with Julie at the cemetery as she was talking to a gravestone. Further down the book, we see Luke is on the mend but his and Julie's relationship is still as complicated as ever. In Book #3, Julie has found a passion in organizing the school fall dance but what happens when a bad storm hits the town and Julie finds herself in danger when she decides to leave after an argument. The love triangle is still hinting in this book as Derek and Julie start spending time together at the school dance, but will Julie realize that she isn't getting anywhere with Luke and has a great guy standing in front of her, or will her heart be set on Luke and she has blinders on when it comes to Luke. Book #3 ends on a slight cliffhanger as well with the effects of the storm on the small town.

Surprisingly, this was better than the past book. Still, there's a lot of room for improvement, plot wise and character wise.

Historia amena y tierna.

Well, firstly I have to say that I was disappointed that
Basically we got some more arguing in this book, Julie had a chat with Derek, and then moaned about how she didn’t get to finish her assignment working for the police, and moaned that Luke didn’t pay her that enough attention unless she was in danger.

A little sad considering the end of part two, but still cute and Luke isn't as annoying in this book. Though I would love to slap him, just once.

so luke didn't die! i thought he did. Julie spent a lot of time moaning again. and why did she want to finish her assignment when she didn't want to be in the police anyway?

I decided to read this book because I had read one of Tracie Puckett's books before and I really liked it so I decided to get more of her books in a series and this is one of them. I am not really sure what is in them that makes me like reading them but I just do.

On the bingo board this book comes under 'A book with themes related to those we've studied in class- theme one'. This makes it interesting because I can see how the two quite different books can be related. The themes that they share are- the importance of family and forgiving. This is because both Julie's parents got killed so she lives with her uncle (Charlie) and her cousin (Matt). They stand by her and it makes her understand how important family is by having them there for her. Also in this particular book most of the characters are forgiving each other because of everything going on. These two themes strongly relate to the themes in the novel 'The Secret Life of Bees'.

My favourite quote from this book is when both Luke and Julie are talking and say:
“Take your time, Luke,” I said. “I’m not going anywhere.”
“Promise?”
“Cross my heart.”
This is the very last line in the book and is just such a nice and happy ending to the whole story.

Something new that I have learnt from this book is to give people space if they want it and give them time to open up if that is what the person wants. This is just like the situation going on between both Jules and Luke.

A character in this novel that I like is Luke because even though he was confusing Jules and running away he only had her best interests at heart and was trying to sort out the situation which they did in the end.

In this installment we finally get some revelations from Luke! But before then of course he's still showing mix signals and they're stronger this time but the truth comes out in the end! We also get to see where he comes from and hints of his past, a painful one at that.

Sometimes I felt this to be a little slow after the explosion of the end of Just a Little Embrace but it moved the story along and I can't wait to see where their love story goes in Just a Little Promise.

Overall this series is just too cute and I'm glad the love triangle from book 2 is still not a love triangle, Julie's heart still only has eyes for Luke and I'm so happy about it! I love seeing her fight for her chance at love! These short stories are addicting, fast paced, yet full of depth and heart. I love how this relationship is blooming, slow and steady, as some are afraid of having these feelings, completely relatable and just perfect if you're looking for a fun contemporary.

Any tiny shred of liking I had for luke or this story was destroyed the second Julie woke up to find him in her room, watching her sleep. Then he starts in on her with these sexist shit about her not following his orders & how he knew what's best for her.

Basically talking at her like he owned her.

He's gone from annoying and stubborn & flip flopping to the same cookie cut controlling bullshit chauvinist "hero" you see in almost every other young adult romance book. Ever.

This dreck should not be read by anyone. Especially impressionable teenager girls.

TENGO INSOMNIO :S

Uhhh... finally I thought the fool would never reveal his feelings... I was so put off by the mixed feelings with Luke I that I was yelling at her to move on with Derek and someone else more her age...I was a little disappointed on how it ended until I came here and realized there is still another book. Yay!

Lukeeeee....now I'm officially swoon over him. Give me more Luke and Julie, please. So can't wait to know how the ending is. Well, have to admit, I hate seeing Julie chasing him so hard while Luke somehow just like Katy Perry's song, hot and cold. But it's super sweet when Luke confessed his feeling over Julie to her uncle, Charlie. Gotta running to Just a Little Promise :)

I knew it! Good. That would have been disappointing if the last book would have really went the direction it was leading you to believe. Tracie Puckett, that was just mean lol. I can't put my finger on exactly what it is, but damn I really like these little stories. It must be the hot guy in uniform ;)

Continuing on my marathon of these short stories, I'm so so so glad I bought the fourth because if I stopped at this one, I would have died. AMAZING ending, kept me on edge, and led me straight to number 4.

This book was a lot shorter then I thought it would be but I really liked it. The ending was sweet and I'm glad it finished on a happy note (unlike basically every book I read).
Off to read the next one
