The main character in this was okay, but again, I didn't love her.

This was another okay read in the series, but I'm glad I've finished them. They're not bad reads, but they've struggled to keep my interest, and they've dragged slightly in areas because of it.

Overall, An okay read.

Kate Lowry is back with a vengeance in the final installment of The Liar Society series. She’s ready to take down the secret society responsible for her best friend Grace’s death. How? By joining the Pemberly Brown’s sisterhood. What better way to take them down than from the inside, only Kate might just be in over her head this time. With a new murder, a secret war between the brotherhood and sisterhood, Kate’s initiation and love-problems, authors Lisa and Laura Roeker have created and ending jammed packed with intrigue, mystery and action that I really enjoyed.

"I was like a neon-haired Trojan horse, and they were finally going to pay for what they'd done to Grace. East your heart out, Helen of Troy."

SETTING AND SUMMARY:

The setting in this last installment still revolves around the secret societies that lurk within the prestigious private school Pemberly Brown. With Kate’s initiation into the sisterhood, the book gives the reader the feeling as if they might be peaking (sneaking) a look into the sisterhood’s dark secrets. There’s lots of fun and obscure Latin sayings the girls use, making it all seem mysterious. Reperire tua fata “Discover your destiny.”

The night of Kate’s initiation into the sisterhood not only brings her closer to solving Grace’s death, but deeper into a secret war between the school's bitter rivalries . Another student at Pemberly Brown dies, and Kate knows it is no accident. Together with her sleuthing neighbor Seth’s help, Kate is determined to solve this mystery once and for all, and save her school from the secrets hidden below it’s surface.

CHARACTERS

Kate is one of the few characters that I have come across lately that is so strongly driven. She is determined to solve the mystery behind her best friend's murder, and her grief and guilt spur her own. The only problem is she keeps herself protected, keeping all those who care about her at a distance. She’s smart, a bit sassy (just look at her hair color), and strong willed. I really liked her spunk and determination, and easily empathized with her, but at the same time her emotional distancing made it hard for me to feel connected to her.

Seth is totally adorable, cute, and Kate’s sidekick in sleuthing. To Kate he was a winning combination of neighbor/bodyguard, partner in crime, and best friend all rolled into one. I loved his interaction with Kate and their sleuthing together as he continues to try and help her solve the murder mystery of her best friend.

Liam continues to be a part of Kate’s life, but with their recent break-up I didn’t get as much Liam time as I wanted. I felt bad for Liam as he struggles to be friends with Kate, wanting to keep her safe. It was frustrating when she choose to keep him at a distance, especially when his feelings for her were so obvious.

Bradley use to be a long time crush of Kate’s, but now their relationship is one jumbled mess. Kate’s on-again, off-again feelings for Bradley continued to confuse me too.

THE ROMANCE

In this last installment of the series, the focus really is on wrapping up all the threads of the mystery. There is some sweet moments, and heartache too between Kate, Liam, and Bradley, but not really a love triangle or anything. She is totally devoted to bringing justice to Grace’s death.

WHAT I LIKED

The whole mysterious, secret society atmosphere. As the war continues between the brotherhood and sisterhood, I loved *peaking* over Kate’s spirited shoulders witnessing it.

WHAT I HAD A HARD TIME WITH

Kate’s distancing towards family and friends, and her indecisive feelings towards Liam and Bradley was frustrating at times for me.

MY RATING: 4 stars. I really liked it.

RECOMMENDED

For fans of the series who are eager to find out the big mystery behind Grace’s death. Readers who like fast paced mysteries, a spunky heroine, and private school setting that's teeming with danger and secret societies.

If the author has written a full-on mystery, this would be a hit!

Kate is studying in Pemberly Broke school, with her best friend Grace. When Grace dies (in the previous books), Kate thinks this has something to do with the secret societies at her school, the Sisterhood and Brotherhood. After Kate destroys the Brotherhood in the second book, this novel comes in. Kate infiltrates the Sisterhood and tried to get revenge for Grace's death. But, there are a series of events unleashed - students dying one by one and mysterious notes appearing to Kate from Grace's diary. In addition to this, she pushes away her boyfriend and hangs around with her crush, Bradley. The mystery follows Kate everywhere she goes. When she unravels one, two more gets started. And Kate is on it.

Before reviewing this, first let me tell you I have not read the first two books and I can pretty much understand what's happening. So, I am not sure about the second book, but the third and final installment to the Liar society series can be read directly if you get hold of it. But, I suggest you start from the beginning, because I suppose there is a lot of fun in the beginning stages of the novel.

This was a page turner and the mystery part was great. Every time I think Kate will get hold of something, things gets even more messy. I loved all the guys in this - Liam, Bradley and Seth. Each have different personalities and different level of interest on Kate. Well done on that part, because I can't give up on any of these guys.

While I am excited to read the thriller part of the novel, I am no way a fan of Kate in the romance department. She seemed very selfish in that area. And Kate's dialogues are repetitive. I had to skip those parts to get to the main dialogue. It's distracting and annoying to see repeats.

The climax dealt everything well.

Recommended for mystery lovers!

3.5 STARS!

Musings: If you are going to guess this novel based on the title and the cover, please stop now. I know Kate colors her hair according to her mood and she wears Grace's pearls. I guess her looking the other way says that she pushes everyone away from her. Okay, I suppose the cover makes sense now. But the title - no, can't relate..

The final book in the Liar Society Trilogy puts a wrap on the series and brings some closure for Kate, our narrator and determined teen guide throughout the series. Kate feels the pressure to end the society once and for all as the death toll mounts and she feels the sting that maybe she could have prevented what happened. While life goes on around her, Kate seems focused totally on ending the society and avenging the death of her best friend. Her love life seems as disjointed as everything else as she finds herself attracted to both Liam and Bradley, but not really being involved enough to make a choice, which may cost her, are they both trustworthy or is there more to them than meets the eye? There is too much going on, too many mysteries to solve and life’s pressures seem to show up through her narration. Will she rid the school of the evil it secretly harbors?

Third Lie’s the Charm by Lisa and Laura Roecker is filled with all of the ingredients for YA bliss, some humor, some mystery, a lopsided romantic triangle, tons of angst. With believable characters who come across as teens in turmoil, they have created a fast-paced world that reaches its crescendo from an unpredicted quarter that will keep the reader guessing until the end!

I received an ARC edition from Sourcebooks Fire in exchange for my honest review.

I received an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley to review.

I knew going into this book that I would probably enjoy it. I loved the previous two books in the series. Kate is an awesome protagonist. She tries not to let boys ruin her plan to avenge her BFF Grace. She's fearless enough to get into stupid situations, but not so fearless that you feel she's going to get killed at every turn. I loved Seth's romance arc in this book. I was very pleased with it. There were a lot of twists and secrets that were revealed in the book. It was a great end to the series. I'm looking forward to what the Roecker sisters write in the future.

While I really enjoyed the first and second book in this series, this book was just not as good. The important parts that had to deal with the actual investigation were rushed and confusing. The miniscule parts that didnt even have to be in the book has way too much detail. The ending was expected and I'm glad it ends the way it does but honestly it didn't make too much sense. The killer was really random and it felt like they were just pulled out of a hat for shock value. I'm really just glad I finally finished this series after about 6+ years.

Very good unique book just had a few spots scratching my head feeling like I was missing some background information. Oops not again! A 3rd in a trilogy that I have not read. I need to do better job of researching books for series before reading?!? BUT Will definitely be recommending this book series to young adults that visit my school library!

I liked this series. I did. Quite a bit actually. Definitely more than three stars worth. But, I am not sure that this was the strongest book in the series. It answered all the questions a finale should answer, and delivered with enough punch to keep each page turning. But I could not shake the feeling for the majority of the book that something was failing to gel. What? I am not completely sure.

After the fall of the Brotherhood, Kate Lowry joins their rival, the Sisterhood, which has all and all taken over her elite private school, Pemberley Brown, to try and take them down from the inside. Too bad her membership seems to be alienating every other aspect of her life. She’s on the outs with Liam, her ex-still should be-boyfriend, her best friend Seth finally starts to insist that Kate should move on, and her parents start paying attention at all the wrong times. But when pages from her deceased best friend, Grace, killed in an accident involving both secret Pemberley Brown societies, start appearing Kate knows she can’t stop until the societies are gone for good. Suddenly members of the Brotherhood start receiving notes with dangerous dares promising to restore their honor. When the bodies start piling up and tensions get even higher it’s up to Kate, Liam, Seth, and Bradley to figure things out and end this once and for all.

The first thing that’s great about these books is the characters. Everyone, from Kate to Grace’s detached voice from the past, is compelling. From start to finish Kate Lowry was a fun, plucky heroine with equal parts wit, charm, and snark. The secondary characters were also well drawn; Taylor and Bethany, popular leaders of the Sisterhood were more than just typical Mean Girls (especially after book two), dashing Bradley Farrow was flushed out more than ever before (though I wouldn’t have minded a little more to him, reasons rather than facts for example), Kate’s ex-boyfriend Liam remained the bad boy with the heart of gold but also gained a bit more depth as time went on, and, of course, Kate’s best friend and next door neighbor, the hilarious conspiracy loving Seth continued to be the best character and even gained a happy ending.

My major complaint is that the conclusion seemed to come flying with the speed of a high velocity pellet gun. The villain ended up being a character that I should have remembered from the previous books, but didn’t. I was also not one hundred percent clear on the motivation. Saying someone is crazy after three books is just not enough.

I also felt that where threats in the other books in the series seemed satisfyingly weighty, this didn’t particularly. It seemed as if the perpetrators were counting very heavily on their victim’s willingness to put themselves in mortal danger. Yes, it was supposedly to recover their society from disgrace, but I just wasn’t sure this was a cause for which I teenager would be willing to potentially die. Not to mention the logistics of some of the placing of the school mascot. Also, the addition of Grace’s journal seemed strange. It made sense in the first book to include messages from Grace to get Kate involved, in the second book it felt like it was following a pattern, and in this, even though we were given new and important information, it seemed ridiculous that pages would suddenly start appearing a year after Grace’s death. Why was this journal not turned into the police? It would make sense if it was to protect someone, but that did not seem to be what was happening.

In the end, yes, I liked this series a lot. I gave the first book to my best friend to read, in fact, which I do not often do. It’s a great series with a great heroine and fun mysteries. It’s not too weighty and not to light. And right in the vein of, say, Private or Pretty Little Liars. I was satisfied with the answers to the questions, which is the most important thing, but this was not my favorite installment.

New friend into old, the bond of the Sisterhood will never grow cold.

After two books, The Liar Society comes to an end with the Third’s Lie a Charm.
Will Kate finally gave Grace’s death justice?
Would she succeed to break up the secret societies that started this all?
And would she be able to solve the mystery behind another student’s death before she herself becomes the next target?

Goodreads description:
Life at Pemberly Brown is a whirlwind for Kate Lowry. Determined to finally destroy the secret society responsible for her best friend Grace’s death, Kate joins the Sisterhood hoping to go all Trojan Horse on their asses. But the night of her initiation another student at Pemberly Brown dies in what looks like tragic accident.

Two stars. At first I was actually thinking of giving this a 3 stars—the safe rating. What made me settled on just giving it a two was the character Kate Lowry—the protagonist. She’s someone I expected to really step up or grew in her character since this is the last instalment. But just like before she failed to deliver what I expected of her. She keeps on rushing into things, which let me tell you make things worse; I want her to be smarter with her actions—but then she get dupe once more. She does not even have one single clue as who’s behind the mystery up until she’s in the middle of it; she continues on getting swayed in the direction her enemy wanted her to. I do not even see what she accomplished for infiltrating the Sisterhood. She’s not at all a protagonist-material.

There is also this thing that irked me.
The Twilight-kind-of-love-triangle where the girl like both guys and torn as to whom she should choose. So she goes to one guy, then to the other one, but then she wants the first guy once again. AARGH-nnoying! This kind of love/romance twist in a book is something I do not find amusing at all; mostly this made me disinterested in the book.

To sum this all up, this isn’t such a bad book. It’s well-written, has enough mystery and good story twists and it actually ended in a nice way. What disappoints me is the main character; I don’t find her satisfying enough. Some people say that you have to slip yourself into the character shoes to enjoy and understand the story more—but I can’t do that with this one.

Third Lies the Charm is the last book in The Liar Society trilogy and I must say it had a bit of an interesting ending. There was a few surprises but some things I sort of had figured out already. If you haven’t read the first two then you might not want to read this review because I could mention something as it’s hard to review the last book without talking about the other books.

Kate and her two friends thought that when they got to Pemberly Brown that things were going to be great. They all had guys they were crushing so what could be better, then Grace dies in a fire. Kate has a bit of a nervous break down and dies her hair pink. She knows the secret societies had something to do with her death and she is out to find out who was responsible and bring down the brotherhood and sisterhood.

While she is on this search for revenge she meets Liam and he tries to help her bring the secret societies down but he can see what a toll things are on her and at the beginning of the second book he doesn’t want anything to do with secret societies. He wants her to live things alone, and Kate says that she will but then doesn’t. She pushes Liam away and starts hanging out a bit with Bradley who use to be her crush during her first year at PB.

The second book ends with a bit of a twist and the third one starts out pretty much how the others did with Kate going for revenge but this time she is doing it from the inside of the Sisterhood as she is now a member. She continues to push Liam away but he always seems to come back and she sort of flaunts Bradley in his face. She keeps getting parts of Graces Journal sent to her and it leads her to some people that she thought she could trust. I don’t think I can say much more without giving something away.

This book sort of brings about a bit of a love triangle but you can always tell who she really likes between Bradley and Liam. I am not sure if Liam is just a love sick fool or a glutton for punishment but I think I would have washed my hands of Kate at the beginning of book two. Liam is always there for Kate even when she is pushing him away and flaunting Bradley in his face yet he still tries to help her with the societies. I like Liam mostly because he was probably about the only person besides Seth without a agenda of some sort.

Kate’s attitude wore on me after a while because it just felt repetitious. Poor Kate her friend is dead and nobody cares, she is doing this for Grace. Why does every one not understand…etc etc. After a while it gets old. I get where she is coming from but I just felt I was reminded to many times.

One of the things that kept going through my mind as I read this book and book two as well was how on earth is Kate still in school. As much time as she spends out late and night and hunting down leads, when does she have time for homework? How is she managing to keep her grades well enough that she doesn’t flunk out. It just struck me as odd.

Over all, it was an interesting ending to the trilogy and I was glad to finally know what happened. If you like mystery YA novels then you might want to check out The Liar Society trilogy.

Two-second recap: In the third and final book in The Liar Society series, Lisa and Laura Roecker bring Kate Lowry's story to a satisfying, intriguing close, as she struggles to end the society once and for all.

***

I've been looking for a good YA mystery to read for some time now, so I was extremely excited to get the opportunity to join the blog tour for Third Lie's the Charm.

After the fall of the Brotherhood, Kate is still looking to get revenge for best friend Grace's death, once and for all. Her solution this time around? Joining the Sisterhood and taking them down from the inside, Emily Thorne-style.

(Yeah, I totally watch Revenge.)

But an unexpected death, a complicated love triangle - which almost becomes a love square at one point - and mysterious notes from beyond the grave, all begin to make Kate think that this time around, she might actually be in over her head after all.

I've been rooting for Kate since book one, and I love how she's dually grown but also remained consistently true to herself. She's still tough as nails, not letting any of the boys in her life push her around as she remains committed to avenging Grace's death. But she's also human, as she admits to herself - though maybe not anyone else - that she does feel guilty about situations that were essentially beyond her control.

While I loved how the Roeckers guided Kate through her final attempt with steady characterizations and strong writing, I was a little surprised by the pacing of the latter half of the book. Things seemed to fall into place a little too quickly, and it kind of gave the impression that the writers were hyper conscious of the fact that they needed to end the series.

However, with that being said, I still had an absolute blast. I loved spending more time with Kate and her friends, and seeing how each of their journeys came to a close. I thought the final page of hte book was pitch perfect, and I'm looking forward to recommending this book to others.

***

Final verdict: I had a blast reading Third Lie's the Charm. It was an engaging mystery with fantastic characters, and a fitting end to the series.

I recommend this for readers of YA mysteries, and for readers who are looking to try something different in the YA genre in general.

Incredible! I forgot how much I loved this series because I had read the last book so long ago; but reading Third Lie's the Charm brought all the emotions back. I remembered how much I love Kate (who's just as rebellious and amazing as ever in this book). I remembered how much I love the other characters too: Seth, Liam, Maddie, Grace, everyone. And I remembered the life-or-death mysteries and action-packed scenes that fill this series that never fail to keep me on the edge of my seat. I would recommend this series to all YA readers, especially those who want something a little different from most YA. And I recommend this to anyone who loves a good mystery :)

*WARNING, SPOILERS UP AHEAD*

The story starts with Kate joining the Sisterhood in hopes of infiltrating the system so that she can finally bring the secret societies down.
But then.....Alistair was murdered:

And every time Liam came by and Kate chose not to give him any explanation:

And every time Seth ran blindly into anything to help Kate:

When Kate found the golden backpack at Camp Brown:

But when Kate accused Bradley and his sister I was sure, so sure that everything was their fault. But everyone else had settled on accusing Liam:

So when we found out about Porter:

And then Cameron lit the house on fire:

But then Kate survived! And it was over, finally over.

That last scene with Kate and Liam left me feeling like:

Third time's the charm... or is it?

*Arc received from Sourcebooks Fire via NetGalley

I absolutely adored the first book, The Liar Society, and totally related to the protagonist, Kate. But in Lies That Bind, I really hated her. And in this third and last book, Third Lie's the Charm? Sigh...

I was totally not able to connect to Kate's character this time around. I understand the guilt over a death of a friend, but I hate that she just blamed herself over it and pushed everyone away. I hate that she hurt Liam so much. I hate that she kept putting herself in danger. I understand that she was so angry about the Sisterhood's manipulation, but I just felt so bad about how much she hurt Liam.

I also hate the twist in the end, because after all the trouble Kate went through, the "suspects" weren't even the ones I thought all along. And she got Liam in so much trouble. I was just disappointed in her and so sad with how a lot of things turned out. I felt blindsided by the ending and the real villains. Don't get me wrong. I love that the sisters-turned-authors Lisa and Laura Roecker were able to justify the villains' reasons, and I was sufficiently pacified, but I felt like there was a disconnect between Kate's whole cause and other twists in the book and the villains.

Third Lie's the Charm has really good twists. As a mystery book, it has good twists and heavily laden with secrets and does not have those none-too-subtle hints that I think you'll be as surprised as I am about the real culprits. I was so caught up in the book, with my heart-pounding and my mind going crazy, that I stayed up two hours later than I should have.

Kate Lowry isn't going into my favorite characters ever list (although Liam certainly's in the why-isn't-this-guy-real), but The Liar Society series makes it to my recommendable YA-Mystery books.

4 stars.

Lisa and Laura Roecker bring their series The Liar Society to a close with a book that racks up the body count while delivering humor, romance, and mystery. Be warned: minor spoilers for the first two books follow.

Kate Lowry has destroyed the Brotherhood, and she's feeling good about that, even if it didn't turn out exactly how she planned. Now she just has to destroy the Sisterhood and her revenge for her best friend Grace's death will be complete. Then she ignores a call in the pursuit of her goals, and another classmate ends up dead. Kate has a new case to investigate in addition to her continued plans of sabotage.

I love Kate, who has a very masculine character arc. She's willing to give up love in order to pursue vengeance. And, well, if multiple guys are going to pursue her, she is going to worry about it when there aren't dead bodies on the ground and she's going to mock any and all displays of testosterone. Kate is in way over her head, but she's been that way from the start and refuses to give up now.

I've just had so much fun with this series. It is completely over-the-top with the almost all powerful secret societies, but that's part of what makes it so fun. That craziness is anchored by the great heroine and her complicated relationships with friends, boys, and other classmates.

THIRD LIE'S THE CHARM did have some structural issues. Things fall into place way too simply at the end of the novel because this is the end of the series and things have to wrap up. There's a detour to a bizarrely short camp that is funny, but in the end could have been more relevant. The plotting just isn't as neat, which is a shame since that's been a strength of this series.

But the characters and their interactions are as wonderful as ever, which makes the book worth it. THIRD LIE'S THE CHARM and its two predecessors are excellent choices for young adult mystery fans.

The last and final part in the Liar Society trilogy and it was worth the wait (Boy, I feel like I've waited ages!). Having left a big gap (Or it feels it) from hearing about Kate and her ever changing hair colour, its nice to see the mystery over - although I will miss the characters.

I felt Third Lie's a Charm tied up all the loose ends it needed too, all questions were finally answered and although I wanted the mystery to end a different way, I'm happy with the conclusions (There's nothing worse than being disappointed after all).

I really don't like to give too much away with the storylines especially when reviewing a book in a series (And this being the final instalment), what I will say is that it was fast paced, action filled and at times although I wanted to throttle Kate for her actions which were beyond stupid, grief and the challenge of working through it can do strange things to the rational part of your brain and I 'get it'.

It was great to see all the characters back I liked and was really happy that Bradley was quite a character in this book, Liam was great too - given the choice I'm not sure which one I would have picked myself.

The only sad thing I guess is that Grace died in the whole of this tale, but that's how this whole story started. I just think with these kind of books, sometimes its sad that someone has to die for the story to be told? Please note thats not a spoiler! Grace died in book 1!!

I gave Third Lie's A Charm 4 stars out of 5, its a good read, has humour, mystery, romance and action - it will keep most YA readers happy and I thoroughly recommend the series.

This is the last book in the The Liar Society series... IT WAS SUCH AN AWESOME SERIES.
I just love reading about secret societies especially ones that are boys versus girls. This book surpass the first two books. It had more suspense, more secret society dares, and more of Liam, and Bradley of course. ( Its always funny to see two guys fight over one girl in the book)
Kate is still dealing with the death of her friend, Grace. But she finally has the chance to revenge her friend's death by joining the Sisterhood. With an surprising death, and several other attempts on other people, Kate has more unfinished mysteries to solve. There were plenty of suspects, and the ending was a real surprise and partly random as well. But I won't tell you what happens :D
I think Lisa and Laura Roecker did a great job at showing a character who went through some depressing events. I always felt sympathetic towards Kate, but a couple times in this book, I was annoyed that she took forever to pick between the two guys. I love reading the parts of Grace's diary, it added more perspective from Grace's point of view.
I love Seth (he's so funny), and he is always trying to help Kate. I love the outdoors camp that Kate went to; it was cool to see Kate in a different setting. I enjoyed this series a lot, and I think that this was the best ending for this series. If you have been with The Liar Society books from the beginning, then you will not be disappointed. And if you are mystery lover, then go read The Liar Society series!!!

I got this book from the publisher in exchange for the honest review...

first off i have to say that i love love love this book cover. and i am going to say sorry in advanced for the short review.. but their isn't much to talk about... DO NOT READ THIS BOOK if you have not read the other two.. YOU WILL BE CONFUSED AS HELL!!!!!

This final book in the series wraps up all the questions and solves all the puzzles. I love the characters in these books. Kate has a lot of spunk and is a really fun character to read! She is bound and determined to bring down the Societies that resulted in the death of her best friend Grace. She still has panic attacks due to the bizarre death of Grace. Not only does she worry about this, her friend keeps calling her from the male society that was shut down. He claims that his life is in danger and that someone was trying to kill him. She was so caught up with trying to seek her revenge that something bad really happens. The headmistress is also in the sisterhood and makes it known to Kate that is not welcomed and not a true sister. Kate now knows that she needs to watch her back.

She will go thru a love triangle between Liam and Bradley. I honestly cannot pick which one i like more because they are both equals. I will have to say that I like getting to know each of the characters more in this book.

No, i will not give away the ending about what happens with the sister hood and blah blah blah... make sure you read and find out what the ending is :)

Wow , I cannot believe that this series has just published the third book as it seems not that long ago that I had discovered book #1 and read it and loved it so much that it became a series that I would continue reading if not for the great storyline but for the awesome covers as I have to admit slyly that this is the one series where I love the covers just as much as the storyline. I think it's due to me dying my hair bright colours , but there is just something about dyed hair on covers that gets me. Third Lie's the Charm is the third book in The Liars Society where we see that Kate has finally reached her goal of being invited to join The Sisterhood and is finally ready to launch her revenge for the death of her friend Grace - see :the first book. In Book #2 we saw the Brotherhood society disbanded and now in Book #3 another death has occurred and if Kate and her friends aren't careful - more deaths of fellow friends and students may start piling up around them. Can Kate along with a few of her remaining friends, put an end to the societies and once and for all get revenge on those who killed not only Grace but her other friends as well ?
Find out in Book #3 of The Liar Society .

4.5/5 stars

Third Lie's The Charm is the third and final book in The Liar Society Young Adult series. These books are YA contemporary mysteries.

The narrator is Katie Lowry, a high school student who attends the elite Pemberly Brown Academy. Even though there is a different mystery in each book, the stories are very connected and it is necessary to read the books in order.

I read the first two books together 1 year 9 months ago. It is really ideal to read all the books together. Because it had been a while I had to skim over the last chapters of the previous books to remind myself what had happened.

Even though I didn't immediately recall everything in the other books I did quickly get back into the story.

I think this series would be for anyone who likes a good YA mystery. Also anyone who would like a female teen mystery solver (like Nancy Drew or Veronica Mars).

These books were all very enjoyable and this last one was no exception. It was a good ending to an interesting, cute series. I enjoyed the mystery in this book and thought that things were tied together nicely at the end.

Society young adult series by sisters Laura and Lisa Roecker. It begins with Kate Lowry joining the Sisterhood in the hopes of bringing it down from the inside. While at her initiation ceremony, she misses 21 calls from a former Brother. The next day she learns that he has died which throws her for a loop having lost her best friend Grace recently. Was it an accident as everyone believes or was he killed?

Not having read the previous books, I felt a little lost at times, but the pace and the suspense in the beginning kept me reading and interested to see what was going to happen next. The series gets wrapped up quickly which made for a slightly abrupt second half. Still, I really think my niece would love these books. I plan on getting all three for her birthday. I wonder if she would notice if I read them before handing them over to her?

Sometimes books just really click with you. It’s like you pick up a series not knowing what to expect except for crazy hair colors and that the authors are really cool humans. Then there are those other times where you fall for a series and read the last book and the clicking just stops. You guys, I hate hate hate typing this out, but Third Lie’s The Charm by Lisa and Laura Roecker, the third and final Liar Society book failed to click for me. While I was into the story and the plot, I wasn’t breathless with anticipation over what would happen next. I wasn’t clutching my pearls with nerves over what Kate was wandering into. Instead, I kind of felt like I was bidding my time as each page went by, waiting for the end.

This is an incredibly fun series, and I'm sorry to see it end. I'm not sure I agree with the synopsis that it's particularly "chilling," but it is enjoyable and action-packed.

One problem I did have: Kate seemed pretty passive about everything in her life besides bringing down the secret societies. She liked Liam but she was kind of dating Bradley and she kind of liked him, too...basically all her relationships (especially romantic, but even her friendships, too) happened to her. She wasn't really an active participant in her life. (Except, of course, for bringing down the societies, which was her top priority. And honestly, I get that; if my best friend died like that, I'd be hellbent on revenge, too.)

I'm excited to see what Lisa and Laura Roecker write next.

I didn't read the first 2 books in the series and that was a mistake.

I felt like I didn't really understand what was going on till the end, even though the author tried to explain the back story without getting too repetitive and boring readers of the first 2 books

The book reminded me of "Pretty Little Liars" series, which I devoured.
it leaves you guessing to the very end and I don't think I could have predicted what happens even if I had read the first 2 books.

Conclusion: books should be read in sequence. I firmly believe if I'd read the other 2 first I would have rated this much higher.

So sad the series is over but it was a great conclusion. It was another page turner and lots of twist and turns. I always have a hard time when a series I love so much ends, but it couldn't have been better. I can't wait to see what these authors write next.

In this book Kate has her work cut out for her when members of the brotherhood start getting cards and then killed after. This book kept me guessing wondering who it was but in the end I never expected the outcome. Don't want to say too much because it is a mystery and I don't want to give anything away.

Awesome series!

I liked this book but not as well as the first. I am a bit disappointed that more wasn't revealed about Grace. I mean, we did wait 3 books to get the ending. I felt robbed.
Also, was somewhat disheartened because the ending was not a slam-dunk. It just sort of went out like a fire slowly dying. Just a little pop and then nothing.
I have to say that Kate's big epiphany at the end was something I thought since the end of book 1. Soo...just sort of a flat ending for me. I guess I just hoped there was more to it like a shocking ending.
