Doua capitale ("Parisul Luminilor" si "Bucurestiul cufundat in intuneric"), trafic de carne vie si prabusirea colosilor industriali, concerte de pian pentru copiii abuzati si borcane cu muraturi pentru iarna-acesta este fundalul pe care se proiecteaza doua destine paralele: al lui Ierusalim si al lui Doru. Copilaria lui Ierusalim se incheie in lumea vicioasa a adultilor, sub semnul unei ciudate pasiuni pentru un marchiz francez decrepit si pervers. Doru refuza sa se maturizeze in lumea noua care creste pe ruinele "revolutiei funerate". Marionete in mana sortii, personajele se intersecteaza in Valea Plangerii, unde doar lacrimile si cainta le mai pot salva.

He wrote the screenplay for the film Terminus Paradis (directed by Lucian Pintilie), which was awarded the Jury Grand Prize at the Venice Film Festival.

Cartea asta e una teribilă, atât în sensul bun cât şi rău al cuvântului. Nu-i o carte confortabilă, nici de citit şi nici de pus în cuvinte. (aştept să mai cresc în vocabular şi-n gândire)
