Real Powers: Part Two

Rate this book
After stumbling upon a massive conspiracy and telling the world about it, blogger Mason McCann suffers the consequences of sharing knowledge the world isn't ready for.

Journalist Joanna Hubble learns to see society from a very different angle, covering stories without the benefit her name or reputation, but also without the possibility of consequences for what she reveals.

Media manipulator Manicule lights a fire under radical movements and finds himself pushing too far, leaving him to question for the first time whether or not he has boundaries, and if so, where they might be.

Governor Michael Smith flies up the political ranks, sacrificing his powerful political family to the press in the process. But the higher up he gets, the more concerned he becomes that he might have been climbing the wrong ladder all along.

Xerxes, the genius leader of the Singularity Group, discovers dissent within his ranks as he plans an epic move that will change global politics and forward his cause — and humanity's.

Orchestrating from behind the scenes, the hacker collective Opus continues to influence important events through everyday people. But despite their noble causes, even their allies begin to question the group's motives. And history.

Awesome book! From the entrepreneurial mindset standpoint, my favorite character (Mason) doesn't delight me as much as he did in the first book.

Colin, if you're reading this, my favorite thing about everything you write is the mindset behind it. If you can inject that more in your next book (the way you view problems as opportunities, sex and entwined with every part of life, confidence as an easy mindset to maintain, success as available to the very young, etc.) that would make your books absolutely awesome.

Second part of the Real Powers series. Book continues the fast paced action of part one. Various powers that are just starting to emerge in the first part are starting to influence the broader world. Seems to be setting up for a multi-way power struggle as separate groups each try to shape the future.

Another quick read that leaves you hanging waiting for the next part.
