21st of December 2012. The day things end, or the day they begin?
Matt has had a rough couple of months. His girlfriend of six years, Lara, left him for another man. Her infidelity has sent him down a path that he never envisioned for himself, a path he is not sure he can ever return from. A path he is not sure he wants to return from.
He knows what he is supposed to be, what society tells him he should be.
His only friend is an attractive, attentive and openly gay conspiracy theorist named Alex. For the past year Alex has been preparing for the end of days, only taking breaks from his mission to help his best friend to deal with his problems.
Alex's year has also not been without incident, with many close to him believing his interest in the Apocalypse stems from his own failed relationship
While Matt does not share Alex's beliefs, the events that unfold throughout the course of the day cause Matt to question things about himself that he had tried to bury in the past.
Society tells him that he needs to be a certain way but if the world is about to end, if society is about to die, who is left to tell him how to lead his life?
Matt has to decide: if today is to be his last, who would he rather spend it with?
This book is the first in the series "Beginning Of The End". The series raises questions not only about sexuality but of society in general. We all have craven wants and desires. Sexual fantasies that we bury away in our subconscious in the hopes that one day they would go away.
What if you no longer cared about others opinions. What if it suddenly struck you that nobody should be allowed to dictate whom you share your bed with.
If society were to see a cosmic shift, if people no longer cared who you shared your bed with, would you still suppress these desires?

Porn! Porn with (eventually) a zombie plot. In this introductory chapter our hero progresses from watching "raven-haired shemale" porn, to playing with a dildo, to GFY best-friend sex. The typos and homophone abuse are excrutiating, but the actual story (such as it is) isn't bad. I thought Matt's exploration of his sexuality was quite touching, and I'll be paying hard-earned money to see what happens in chapter two.
This is a short story, more like a installment of a larger story. It ends in a cliffhanger. 75% of this story revolves around the main characters near obsession with his experimentation of being a gay man. There is also post apocalyptic plot which is hinted about fails to go anywhere until the last few pages of this installment. As I said before the erotic content is frequent and the main focus of this story. I find it difficult to ‘rate’ said content. It was graphic enough to clearly paint a mental picture. There is little ‘romance’ to the story, as the characters have limited interactions. We know the main character finds himself obsessed with Alex but their isn’t a reason other then his looks given. I can not tell you why Alex is attracted the MC other but it is likely for the same reason. The character seriously need to be ‘fleshed out’ but that will probably be done through other installments? To sum my review: This is mostly erotica, which happens in the settings of a possible post apocalyptic setting. This story line is not complete, and ends with me say.. eh? maybe I will read the next installment, Maybe not.
I was very pleased with the first pages of this short story and thought I was in for a nice, light read. In these first pages writing is simple but fluid and the story simple but enjoyable.
Suddenly someone turns a switch off (or on, you decide which) and things go seriously downhill. Writing loses its focus and the thoughts of the lead turn to ramblings. Grammar becomes a serious issue and typos pepper sentences apparently written while under influence. Reading the story of a young man exploring his feelings for his former girlfriend and for his current male best friend becomes a chore I would not wish upon anyone.
The ending is spoilt by an unnecessary cliffhanger that calls the reader's attention back to the "end-of-the-world" theme. I shall not spoil it for you but I shall hint that it has nothing to do with the nuclear explosion depicted on the cover. Only when reading the last page I realised this is meant to be a serial, but right now I am really not sure I shall read the following instalments.
