Librarian Note: Alternate Cover Edition for B006PU7RU0.

Annie Graceland's a baker with a pinch of psychic ability. She's a mid-western girl who's surviving a divorce while navigating the mean clean streets of L.A. When stressed, Annie’s psychic gift/curse kicks into high gear. She’s empathic; feels other people’s lusts, urges and desires in her own body. Usually it's simple -- someone's craving chocolate, or lusting after the wrong guy. But since Annie discovered she can see and talk with ghosts, her life became a little more complicated.

Annie’s re-entering the dating world and her friends push her to "sex-up," her wardrobe. At Snotsky's Department Store sale, Annie meets and squares off against the world's most obnoxious clerk: Edith Flowers. When Edith’s murdered and doesn’t pass to the After-Life, Annie agrees to investigate her demise. With Edith's help, Annie infiltrates the crew of Snotsky's suspects. Was the killer the new manager, the arch-rival in cocktail attire, the bra fitter? Will Annie solve Edith's murder so she can go to the light? Will she find anything new to wear that she can afford? Can Annie resolve her latest debacle before hottie Detective Rafe Campillio finds it odd she keeps showing up at murder scenes?

Bonus: First chapter excerpt from Cupcakes, Pies, and Hot Guys! (Next novel in the series.)

What fun! A little silliness, a little mystery and a lot of fun. Pamela DuMond brings something special to her stories. In this case the curmudgeon ghost with a real eye for fashion was one of the DuMond touches that makes her stories stand out. Another thing that surprises me for humorous suspense is the fact that the mystery is well plotted. Of course, Rafe alone would be worth the read.

Warning, don't drink and read. It isn't nice to spit even when it is laughter induced.

As of this edit, I am reading Cupcakes, Pies, and Hot Guys.

It's the follow up to Cupcakes, Lies, and Dead Guys. I wrote it. I love it. I'm a little partial, yes? Please read all the way to the very end of this e-book. There's a *BONUS* chapter one excerpt from the next novel in the series - Cupcakes, Pies, and Hot Guys.

This 2nd book is so short, you are just getting into it and then boom it is done.

The grammar and spelling errors make it hard to read and enjoy

Annie is coerced by her friends to update her wardrobe to be more dateable and the local store is having a sale. Annie of course gets the sales lady who, on her last day of work before retiring to Florida, is not very kind to Annie. After Annie leaves frustrated she realizes she left her parking stub with the sales lady and needs it in order to avoid paying full price for the parking garage. She goes back to find her and find her she does. Strangled with her own scarf and stuffed into one of the dressing rooms.

The killer is rather obvious and the characters are stereotypical, but Annie is always a fun character and makes me laugh.

I liked this story. Annie is a character that you can really like. Annie is a baker and she is also has a psychic ability. While she is shopping for some new clothes she stumbles across the dead body of the sales woman who managed to make her experience a nightmare. She offers to help Edith figure out who killed her so that she could move on.

I kind of wanted to read the novel that Pamela wrote, but it is only available in Kindle form and I don't really feel like spending the money on it. I will have to do alittle more checking to see if the library here has it in Kindle format. I am getting a real Kindle this weekend.

Annie is a baker who sees ghosts. When her pals take her shopping to ‘sex up’ her wardrobe at the exclusive Snotsky’s Department Store, she discovers the snooty condescending saleslady murdered in the lounge. Her madcap attempts to help the newly-minted ghost find her killer provide some chuckles along the way as she manages to solve the mystery, find the perfect dress, and even gets her parking ticket validated.

A quick easy read full of humor, Ms. DuMond has penned a fast-paced witty little novella. Pure fluff, but entertaining, and very well-edited to boot. A great escape.

Again, these are better the second time around.

I’m finally dating again but my BFFs say I dress like I’ve been dumpster diving. They drag me to Snotsky’s Department Store sale where I’m ‘helped’ by Edith Flowers – the meanest sales lady in the world.

When someone meaner than Edith kills her off she haunts me, following me from the Ladies Lingerie department to 'Cocktail Attire' nagging me to bring her murderer to justice. I came to Snotsky’s for the half off sale -- not the half out of my mind sale. Can I find the killer and still score a festive frock for pennies on the dollar?

Cupcakes, Sales and Cocktails by Pamela DuMond is the 2nd book in the Annie Graceland Mystery series. Empath and ghost whisperer Annie Graceland is encouraged by her friends to update her wardrobe, but after failing to find anything at the Snotsky's sale, she finds her sales assistant murdered and helps her ghost find her murderer. I enjoyed this book more than the first, although it was rather short. Annie does not seem as silly as in the first book. A nice little mystery.

Imagine not just seeing and talking to ghosts but getting to solve the murder! Take an average woman and give her psychic ability, she lives with a ghost, has kooky friends and a desire to have fun. Everything fails until she reaches out to a ghost in need as she helps the ghost she helps herself. It's a fun read with heart! Can I just say I love my Kindle??

Cute, quirky, surprising storyline. A shopper at an upscale store has to help a snobby clerk find her murderer. Nicely done. A very quick read if you only have a few minutes.
