This was an easy reading book. The chapters, if you want to call them that are only 1 page at best. It's actually small sections of articles about nature & wildlife in the Northwoods of Wisconsin. Some of the information I already knew. I did learn quite a bit about birds, migration, plants, etc. I would recommend it. Now I want to get the fall/winter book.

With each season as I travel through Wisconsin and Minnesota I re-read both of the Northwoods Companion books. They never cease to teach me something new.

I would give this book 3 1/2 stars. It was an enjoyable read. I loved comparing what he was seeing with my summer in Grand Marais. Lots of good information too.
