The final book in my trilogy. This will make you cry, laugh, scream, cry some more, scream and then probably cry some more. But I promise, it's worth it.

I was so sad to have this story finally end. I discovered this trilogy about two years ago, and I wait impatiently for each book. The story is interesting and the characters are very well portrayed. There are some we love and some we hate, and some we love to hate. This final installment did not disappoint. There was heartbreak throughout the book (which I love!!) and the excitement of Cat leading the troops into battle kept me glued to my Kindle. There was even a little twist near the end. A couple of them, actually.

Thank you, Nicole, for giving us these girls and their men!

Wow! So much action in this book. Iggy really irritated me throughout this book. I kept wanting Cat to see what he was really up to but she just wanted to see the good in him. Unfortunately, there just wasn't any. I loved that Alek was able to finally get some handle on his powers. The scene with Loi after the battle cracked me up. I thought they were all going to attack her for a moment there. I am curious about how they handle Elena when they get back. Overall, a really great trilogy. I am glad to discover that the author wrote a prequel and another book so the adventure is not quite over yet.

I laughed, I cried, my heart soared, I was utterly shocked, then cried some more!!! So sad to see this story end, but it ended so perfectly!!! I can't imagine it any different. Wonderful!!!

I loved this series. The beginning of this book had me in literal tears, the ending had me smiling. Though I'm sad this trilogy is over I'm so happy I read it. It truly is a great story and I encourage anyone willing to go on an open-minded ride to read the whole trilogy.

Not to missed

I highly recommend this trilogy. I got the first book free in a promotion by a number of authors. After reading it I had to purchase the other two. The writing is very well done, transporting the reader in their mind's eye to this entrancing world. The storyline has several engaging and fully realized characters, with enough drama to fascinate. I have Kindle Unlimited, so for me to purchase two books so I could read every word of the entire story is rare. I don't regret a penny spent as this trilogy was exceptional.

Feel the Burn

Janviet has captured Alex and Yakov, and started torturing Alex which causes Catherine to transform to her full Fire Elemental. They have to drug her because she is out of her mind feeling everything Alex is going thru. The other girls are feeling it to because the have already linked their minds. Elena breaks the bond with Alex to restore Catherine and they finish preparations to leave to destroy Jenviet.
These first three books have been awesome. I start reading and don't want to stop. Looking forward to the next book.

I would have given this one 4 stars for the final battle alone if we hadn't had to deal with the excruciating sea voyage to the battle. As in the other books, the author spends too much time on things that are not relevant to the main storyline. I was also a little disappointed in some lose threads, such as revelations around Iggy's and Yakov's behavior, what happened to Leseach, what did Elena know and when. So many unanswered questions that would have been better served than boring practices and days at sea.

Oh wow what a read. I could not put it down, I read until my eyes wouldn’t focus any more, so I had to stop. It is such an awesome series. I found my self crying, laughing, hissing at the baddies, and generally went through a gambit of emotions. I can’t tell you to much about the book as it would all be spoilers. Just take the plunge and read this series you will not be disappointed. Off to read the next book.

**This is a review of all 4 books in this series.**

I love the cast of characters in this series. They are realistic and made me laugh and cry. I couldn't put the books down and devoured the entire series in just a few days. I would have given the books a 5-star rating if it were not for all of the grammatical errors throughout. I will gladly revise my review if these are fixed.

Absolutely fantastic, literally couldn't out it down. I struggled a bit with book 1 having so many lead characters but ploughed on regardless and was so glad I did.

There was 3-4 star struggle here but not because of the book itself. It was one main point that I could not let go of which is mostly because I can be a little bloodthirsty, especially when characters are awful and get off lightly.

Title: Feel The Burn

Series: BirthRight Trilogy Book #3

Author: Nicole MacDonald

Genre: Sci-Fi/Fantasy

Blurb: The battle to save Gar'nyse is upon them and already the costs are insurmountable.
With no other option but to knowingly sail into a trap, the girls, the Griffon Guard, and the gathered forces set forth to reach the castle and destroy Jenviet. However the loss of Alek means the task sits fully on the four girls' shoulders and with only one of them at their full Elemental abilities, the risk of death, or worse-- failure--is high. Now with nothing to lose, Catherine refuses to link with the other girls, hoping that she alone will be able to take Jenviet. But the malevolent Sorceress of Vo'Arum has other plans...

Thoughts: This book is a continuation of the BirthRight triology, and it is important that they are read in order to have the best reading experience with this series. MacDonald exposes us to such an intricate new world, that it's important to get all the background on the world, the characters, the emotions, etc. This book begins where book two left off, with the capture of Alek and the emergence of Cat's full Elemental form - and I must admit after reading the first two books in this series, I was excited to begin this one!

Once again, MacDonald has managed to pleasantly surprise me with her creativity when it comes to the detail she manages to embody the story with. We are presented with even more new creatures within this strange new world, and MacDonald has a real talent for making them interesting and believable. You really get caught up in the story and sometimes even find yourself gasping out loud at the events that ensue! This final installment is packed with action and intrigue - with deception and battle - and not everyone will make it out alive! In fact I found myself on numerous occasions crossing my fingers that certain characters somehow would still manage to come back from the brink of death!

The author also managed to capture Cat's unspeakable grief at the loss of Alek. When he is captured, her grief is simply heart wrenching. I was quick to finish this book, because I was simply dying to get the end and see what happens! Which brings me to my only real critique of the book - After the end of book two, I was probably too wound up to find out Alek's fate and the result of their battle, that for me there seemed to be a lull in the somewhere in the middle of the book. From the beginning, we are caught up in Cat's grief - but the journey from there until Jenviet's castle seemed a bit long winded and stale (at times). However, between Ignatius plots to weasel himself next to Cat - and therefore the crown -and Leseach's burgeoning romance, it is certainly enough to keep your interest. However, if you're like me and simply dying to know about Alek - you simply want them to hurry up and get there already!

The switching between the different characters and their viewpoints are still present in this book, however I found it much less noticeable and distracting compared to the first book.

Overall, I thought this book was an excellent conclusion to a fascinating trilogy. Fans of the first two books will be captivated!

My review from amazon.com dated 11/27/2013

Title: This book wouldn’t let me go!

I haven’t finished the book, but I knew that I should get the word out anyway. I usually don’t skip ahead in books for any reason. In physical books I would sometimes skip to the end of the chapter to see how many more pages I had. And I recently skipped through a scene in Extinction Point because the suspense was scaring me!

The first two books made me sad and I cried a couple of times; however this book made me sad at the beginning and very angry in the middle. Well last night I was at about 40% of the book and there is a character that I was despising. I wanted to know if the villain succeeded and if not then what ended up of them. So I skipped ahead to a little past 90% of the book to find out what happened. Right after I read what happened, I stopped and when back to the 40% mark of the book. I spent about two hours last night skimming through the book until I got to that part. The book had a hold on me so much that I just had to know what happened and couldn’t wait!

I really did not expect to like this series when I don’t the first book for free. Even the first 50 pages of the first book I was unsure, but I haven’t had a book make me want to eat it up since the Hunger Games. I am going straight from one book to the other without stopping.

***SPOILERS***
I had a hard time reading about what Ignatius wanted to do to the main character, Cat. I felt like I was being violated with what he was saying to himself. It’s one of the reasons why I just needed to find out what happened to him in the end. I am a happy with the fact that he died, I haven’t read past that but I hope Cat is told about what he was trying to do. I want her to not think about him again and if she just thought that he attempted to kill Alek and that was it, then she would probably still think of him in a slightly positive manner.

After this book ends I think I am going to need a breather! It’s just so good!

I started this series with a one click free book and found myself loving the world that it took me too. The characters became friends that I wanted to see get everything that they wanted, I worried about them and did not want to have anyone hurt or killed. I am totally caught up in the lives of the four girls and their soul mates. While I was waiting for the conclusion, I don't think I am really ready for it to end. With that said I still find that things drag a great deal with a little more description about nothing filling up when we could use more about what they are feeling or actually doing.

Alek and Yakov have been kidnapped by Jenviet and presumed dead or broken. Cat's link to Alek has been severed by Elena in order to keep her sane and spare the death of the man she loves. They are finally sailing to confront and destroy the evil that has tried to take over their world for centuries, she has only fueled their hatred by her actions of taking those they love. The girls are as ready as they can be for what lies ahead.

Ignatius is taking full advantage of Cat's loss and hopes to worm his way into her affections and find himself as her King. But what they find at the end of their journey will surprise them all and bring back the hope they thought was lost.

I do love a happy ending and was afraid I was not going to get it this time. This is a great ending that ties everything up wonderfully and gives each of the characters a chance to shine in their own right. Good action, good romance, great villains!

A well written, well paced, fantastically done trilogy ender.

I had some reservations going into this final book. This trilogy has been a bit if a learning curve it seems; from the hesitant pace of the first, to the time jump of the second. Multiple cliffhanger-esque endings occasionally left me angry. But, the constant theme has been an overall improvement. As the trilogy progressed I really felt that the books became better; the writing was better, the story more fluid, and the development excellently done. This final book really was a culmination of that, resulting in a fantastic book.

I worried about the possible endings, both in that I wanted HEA, but was afraid that things would be forced and twisted for that to happen. Instead I found myself pleased with the route the story took. The developments, while sometimes skin crawling (looking at you Ignatius) were natural, not forced, and lead to an impressive ending. Things are not easy or pat and there is real progression for each character as they work through all that happens. There is also a healthy dose of reality with the war that I felt was well fleshed out, especially for three Earth girls who have never before been in any type of battle.

Overall this book was a real keeper. And let me tell you- when she uses the book's title as a sentence you will just about die from the awesome!

Epic

From the first book to now I lived in a beautiful world. I especially adored the different points of view. It is not often you would get so many in a book but it is definitely need in this epic fantasy. The authors play with words sends you to a world where everything is real and anything is possible. I got the first book for free and I didn't think I would enjoy it but half way through I needed to purchase the second book and the third which I rarely would do. Also I never really read a book a second time but this trilogy I will.
Finding out that there is more to come in this tale of Elementals Griffins and Guard's is so amazing as this tales ends you know they have new adventure s awaiting them.

While I'm still not so sure about the title of this book, Feel the burn, I thought this was a wonderful conclusion to the series. The final battle is exceptionally well done. I loved and hated the various characters in this book, especially the four elementals, Cat, Sianny, Kass and Loi and their soul mates, the members of the Griffon Guard. The book was an emotional roller coaster, touching and satisfying at the same time. It will bring you to tears as it did me. I was more then happy with the outcome and the few twists at the end worked well. There certainly was good character development and the sex scenes are well done and believable. I would certainly recommend this book and this series.

Great read.

When I first started to read this trilogy it was a little hard to follow. However I picked up on the different view points quickly. I love this trilogy. I have laughed and cried. The emotions, the vivid pictures, the way Nicole MacDonald pulls you in and makes you feel like you are right there living with the characters. I could not put these books down. Highly recommend this series to everyone. I read in another review that this trilogy would make a great movie. I totally agree.

Did no one else notice the blatant rape in this book that was never addressed by the author? I enjoyed the book and the series, despite the poor editing, but the fact that a character could rape another and then the plot line just forgets to even address this later on was extremely jarring for me and made me reflect negatively on the entire series and the author.

So overall I liked this series. The big thing for me is there are a number of story lines that are left WAY open/unresolved. I want to know what happened. I like when things are left open for us to put our own twist on things, but this is just a bet much. Hope she puts out a spin off or something to resolve some of them. Otherwise a good ending.

A wonderful conclusion to the series. The final battle is exceptionally well done. Reminiscent of Gemmell again. Tension builds nicely. The emotion is touching and will bring you to tears as it did me.
Satisfying. A few twists at the end which work okay. Good character development and the sex scenes are well done and believable.
Still some editing problems, but not enough to put me off.

I loved this book!
What can I say?
The storytelling sucks you right into the book.
Once you start reading the book, you can't put it down.
The showdown happens in this book.
Here they will know for sure if all of their training paid off or not.
I love all of the character, except for Ignatius. ( Of course)
I am so psyched that there is an "after" book.
Again, Kudos to Nicole MacDonald.

Not so Young

A series written for the YA, but YA as in new to fantasy and, a word of warning, the reader should be an adult. It's hard to recommend a book without spoilers. This is three full sized books, enough to occupy a whole weekend with full lady sized enjoyment. The heroines are fully capable and need no help from us puny men. Though all will enjoy!

Only read the first quarter, but cannot continue. Goes on and on and on and on... about Cat's grieving- could have been easily expressed in less than one chapter. The rest of it just comes across as teenage antics, absolutely no depth in characters.
