I bought this from Amazon about 4 years ago when my husband and I were talking and decided we need to use a slow cooker more often. (We still don't use it very often.) We're talking about getting an instant pot, so this book should come in handy.

I do like that the recipes are 5 ingredients or less. There is a good variety of recipes in the book. I was a bit sad that there were only 2 fish recipes and they both feature tuna. I do not like cooked tuna so these are a no go for me. I also wish that there had been pictures in this book, as I'm so used to them in cookbooks.

One of the better in this genre

Too many crockpot/slowcooker cookbooks are long on prep and odd ingredients. If I wanted to cook with exotic spices, I would not be using a crockpot. If I wanted to spend an hour at the stove, the slow cooker would be gathering dust.

This cookbook does not do that. Using mostly items already in your pantry and, really, about 10-15 minutes of prep, these recipes come together. Another of the author's real advantages here is that many of her recipes are 8, 10 or even 12 hours in the crock. Set it before work, its almost but not quite done when you return....you are not a slave to the crockpot.

If I have one objection, its small. A lot of the recipes are for the small (2-3 quart) cooker. Its not a hard thing to adjust cook times to the larger models, so maybe the next edition could have this little fix.

Kept a few of the recipes

Simple and easy to follow directions. I would have enjoyed the cookbook more if it had suggestions on what to serve with each meal. It's probably just me but what do you serve with Bratwurst ? Cooked cabbage? The recipe looked good.

You won't confuse this slim volume by Maria Holmes for a cookbook by the brilliant Marian Burros, but, as a $2.99 Kindle book, it's definitely worth the money. Sure, the recipes are fast and simple, but the true proof of a book such as this is whether many of the recipes appear appetizing in their own right. Holmes passes that test with flying colors, and she even keeps an eye on boosting nutritional value and cutting down on fat and calories.

Another bonus to this cookbook? The recipes are simple enough that you could delegate dinner duties to teenage children during that long summer hiatus.

I was so excited about this book because I love food especially international food. I'm an adventurous foodie. I love the convenience of the slow cooker. This book is a good idea, good concept; however I'm highly disappointed that I couldn't read it properly! Poor edits and missing pages. Ebook is formatted incorrectly. I'd appreciate it the author can provide an updated edition of this book. I'd gladly like to keep it on my bookshelf.

Plus it's an international 5 ingredients slow cooker cookbook, how awesome is that?! I really just wished the edition I had was formatted correctly. it's such a shame I only have bits and parts of it and incomplete recipes and whatnot. It's frustrating and disappointing.

I downloaded this e-book on April 2013 for free.

5 Ingredients 15 Minutes Prep Time Slow Cooker Cookbook: Quick & Easy Set It & Forget It Recipes
Each recipe not only comes with cook/prep time but has nutritional information. No pictures but lots of categories to choose a meal from.
Technically there are more than 5 ingredients, if you count the water and spices and herbs in some recipes.
Lots of other books by the author are highlighted at the end and through advertisements throughout the book.
A keeper because of the nutritional information provided per serving.

There are a few recipes in here that I didn't have, so it was a good download. My only complaint was that it really needed an editor. In there or four instances, some of the ingredients were repeated on two pages. These few mistakes really took away from the book, because the rest of it was so well formatted. I hope Ms. Holmes goes in and makes necessary updates.

5 Ingredients, GREAT!

I gave this book 5 stars because this book is perfect for me. I have a husband whose health is not good and I need all my spare time for him. I can make something that is good and nutritious, and still have time for him.

I mostly skimmed this, but bookmarked several recipes to try. Going through this cookbook did inspire me to tidy up my kitchen a little bit before work this morning! :-)
