Chunchu is the story of a young man saved from death by his mother, banished by his people, hunted by his brother, and tortured by the demons within. Living and fighting with a low-born warrior tribe who can never trust him, Chunchu lives a life of blood and violence, every day a struggle to survive. But something mysterious lurks within his cold exterior, something that could be awakened by the touch of a woman.
A Korean manhwa, done in black and white, follows the life of Chunchu, the son of a demon. Tortured by this curse, bringing death wherever he goes, he is trying to break out from that life. But all is not as it seems...
Interesting read. As the first of a series, it really introduces a lot of elements that (hopefully) will be touched upon later (nah dah). Beautifully illustrated. A Korean manga (I don't know if that's the right word for it), the art is a mesh of Japanese and American styles--Japanese in form and silhouette, American in shading and layout. I'll be looking for books 2 & 3.
Trying to get my anime fix in a new form...It's total cheese-o-rama, but now that I'm done w/ volume 1 I want to know what happens to Chunchu so I'll probably end up looking for v.2!
