Very insightful for an IR student.

Does not require a lot of prerequisite knowledge. Helps give the big picture of the system. The appendix is also useful for those new to IFR

An excellent compilation of distilled flying wisdom blended with (variable-quality) humor, wit, dryness, and sometimes stoicism of a veteran pilot who's seen it all. It's good reading for the already instrument rated as well as for those working on their rating. The reader with the rating will appreciate and understand the crystallized wisdom Taylor packs into each rather short section, while the reader working on the rating can use it as a good preview of what flying on instruments is like in the real world, rather than the artificial checkride world.

An absolute must-read for the instrument pilot or instrument flight instructor. Both I and my husband are instrument flight instructors; he has the second edition, I have the third.
