Fandom: Harry Potter -------------------------------------------------- Harry has defeated Voldemort, but it was a costly victory. Aberforth Dumbledore presents a plan to go back and kill the infant Riddle, but Harry will have to stay there 10 years. Can Harry alter the wizarding world's destiny? WWII and Grindelwald.
This is one of the best fanfictions that I have ever read. Aside from the story, the writing is great! The pacing, the character development, and the world building are top notch. It is on par with professionally written books, and I didn't expect it from a free fanfiction.
The story is good too. I've read many time-travel fanfictions, and many of them make the protagonist a god, and the story would be just like playing a game with god mode cheat. In this one, Harry is god level too, but the antagonists are more powerful too, and there are genuine struggles in this story.
One of the things I loved about this story is that it explains some things in Harry Potter canon universe, like Dumbledore's eccentric behavior, or why he left Harry with the Dursleys. It is like this book makes the Harry Potter books better! :D The only part that I didn't like, was the last paragraph, which indicated that the story is not finished, and I checked the author's profile and s/he started the sequel, but never finished it. This would have been a great fanfiction on its own, it didn't need a sequel in my opinion.
I recommend it to all Harry Potter fanfiction fans. *
I recently came across this gem of a fan fiction. The author does a wonderful job immersing you into the altered time of Harry Potter. He consistently maintains all of the many characters in the book as clearly defined independent entities. If you are a Harry Potter fan you have to read this fan fiction. My hope is that the author behind this pseudonym comes forward and publishes some books he can get paid for. Myself I would be lined up to get them based on this book alone.
