A kind of defense of the conduct of Lithuanians during the Holocaust, by bringing forth primary-source accounts of Lithuanians who helped save Jews during that terrible time in history. It's true that Lithuania doesn't have a very good reputation as far as the Holocaust is concerned. There have been accusations of mass collaboration, and it's a fact that something like 95% of Lithuanian Jews perished -- more than in any other country.

I don't know enough about the Holocaust in Lithuania to form any theories as to the extent of their guilt. But this collection was certainly a worthy read for specialists in the subject.
