I stumbled across this little-known, short novella recently and discovered it to be hauntingly beautiful & exquisitely written with twists & turns that will leave you breathless. Told in epistolary style through characters' letters, this poignant story explores the beauty, mystery & pain of life with a deep love for the frailties & triumphs of humanity. While going through a box of photographs belonging to her elusive grandfather, the main character Tess suspects a family secret that could explain her grandparents' unusual relationship & shed light on the tumultuous events that shaped her family. As Tess & her cousin Maymie exchange letters in their effort to recover the truth, a mystery unfolds that will pierce the hearts of readers & remind them of the grace & courage of the human spirit. What impressed me most about Debra K. Rodgers' novella is her poetic sensitivity to the nuances of her characters' souls & struggles and her lyrical writing style that often blew me away in its sheer beauty. Why hasn't the whole world heard about this book? Dear Maymie is a true gem in a sea of bloated, overpromoted novels that deserves to be read by anyone who has a heart.

"Dear Maymie" is the novella written by author Debra K. Rodgers. You want to remember both names.

I've read and savored every word of "Dear Maymie" at least ten times. This is a mini review. I could not wait to give other readers at least a small taste of the wonderful flavors that still linger with me days after having finished reading "Dear Maymie."

I've never heard a voice like that of Debra K. Rodgers in any book I've read. I don't believe that any words or rating system exist that can come close to touching and explaining who and what and why "Dear Maymie" is so extraordinary. Maymie stands out from a myriad of "wanna' bes" that glut and clutter today's reading marketplace. Please read "Dear Maymie" if you want to read a work that is one of a kind.

"Dear Maymie" is available on Amazon for Kindle and in REAL book format. Please do NOT read "Dear Maymie" in e-reader/Kindle format. It must be read in REAL book style for you to have the experience that will never let you go and that you won't want to let go of either, ever. I haven't wanted anyone to come close to let alone touch my copy of "Dear Maymie." Neither will you.
