Ghost Cats: Human Encounters With Feline Spirits

Rate this book
Not only is it thought that cats have nine lives, but people who have spent a lifetime observing and interacting with cats will tell you that cats possess powers—supernatural, paranormal, or simply feline—that we can only begin to comprehend. In Ghost Cat Stories , the unexplainable and strangely heartwarming tales of cats who have refused to let death part them from their human companions are presented. Whatever explains the often intense feline-human connection, Ghost Cat Stories confirms that these wonderful, whiskered creatures clearly have the ability to touch our hearts long after they have purred their last.

There's the usual ridiculous things like orbs and ectoplasm as well as the use of things like dowsing rods. Some of the stories are just as ridiculous such as a cat knowing how many kittens it was having as well as fur color and telepathically telling a person. One of the stories about a guardian angel cat describes a cat that is obviously not a ghost. It's so hard to take books like this serious with all the ridiculous garbage that's supposedly true.

When we put Louie to sleep, my vet recommended this book. It's a collection of stories, where cat's spirits come back to say goodbye to their owners. It was comforting to read, but it's definitely bitter-sweet. I miss my Louie so much, & I wish he would visit me. There is such an empty feeling now that he's gone, but I know his spirit still exists. I can't wait for him to visit in my dreams.

A comforting book to read, especially if you have lost a beloved pet. While reading the stories, I laughed and I cried, and I reminisced. And I was comforted knowing that my cats survived death. My cats came to me in dreams to say goodbye, but I recently experienced an encounter while I was awake. I had a cat named Chloe that my sister later adopted. When Chloe died of cancer at age 13, I worried if she knew that she had had two moms. Shortly after she died, I had insomnia and was up at night, when I heard a disembodied Meow which couldn't be explained by my own cats. One of my cats was awakened by the Meow and went to explore. I called my sister the next day, and she had also heard a Meow overnight, and she had no remaining cats. I believe it was Chloe saying goodbye to both of her moms, and she put my worries to rest!

Reading this book made me appreciate and hug my cats while they are still here. This also wasnt all ghost stories, but interesting stories of cats that made predictions, and abdandoned ships they lived on before the ships setsail on sank. And this book wasnt scary and creepy, it was heartwarming endings, bringing closure and hope and security that we will one day be reunited with our feline friends someday. This is a book of many short stories from all over the world. There is even a story from a town Annadale MN, a town about a half hour driving distance from where I live where cats presence is felt at an historic bed and breakfast.

Collection of short stories about cat owners whose cats "appear" after they have passed on. Interesting read.

This book is exactly what you think it will be. Stories from people who believe they have experienced the ghosts of their pet cats appear to them after death. There is a bit of cat history and life here and it is a well written quick read. Whether you like it or not certainly depends on your beliefs on death, afterlife, the paranormal, ghosts and if you love cats. I'm interested in all of it so I enjoyed this one.

A great compilation of ghostly cat visits! As a paranormal investigator myself, it is my opinion that most of these encounters were not necessarily ghostly visits but spiritual visits instead. Ghostly visits would continue on a regular basis. The author's beloved Maynard came that one time to let her know he was okay. He offered her the forgiveness she so longed for. If you are a reader of true-account ghost stories, you will enjoy this book which is full of them.

I was looking forward to reading this. I thought it would be uplifting to know our beloved pets stay with us in spirit. I ended up getting depressed reading it. Many of the cats in this book died after being run over by cars. Why can't people keep thjeir cats inside where it is safe? Unless you want to feel bad, I don't recommend this.

I love cats and lost 2 of mine very unexpectedly within months of each other. I was hoping this book would be uplifting and hopeful, but it read more like random people's experiences with "ghost cats" that really was not very convincing. Too many were from children or people who saw an unknown cat once and never again and immediately assumed it was a ghost. I was disappointed.

As a lover of cats and the paranormal

I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
I have many pet ghost stories of my own. None have stayed around more than a year but they do come to say goodbye.

Loved it! My cat recently passed away and I wanted to read about other people's experiences with ghost cats. I hope my siamese Precious' spirit visits me someday.
