This is a review for The Fisherman, as I haven't been able to find it on Goodreads. It was my first Thai novel and I really enjoyed it. Seksan has a very tight writing style that remind me in many ways of Hemingway. I loved the themes of poverty and nationality. How two people can be in exactly the same position, job, and economic status, and yet be seen as different. I'd love to read another of his if I can find more English translations.
