Savant

Matthew Le’Dain is no ordinary boy from birth. Blessed with the brilliance of a SAVANT and the infirmities of High Functioning Autism, he struggles to bloom. To most as a child, he materializes as a middling young boy. You do not notice his slow advancement on the fronts of walking, speech, and social development. When Matthew’s mother realizes he is gifted their parents are finally able to provide the institutionalized help he needs to succeed in life.

Matthew quickly flowers from an impotent adolescent to textbook SAVANT at a Children’s Hospital directed by two, renowned Geneticist Dr. Lawrence Meacham, and Dr. Gottfried Dimment. During his stay at the hospital, Matthew meets a mute SAVANT Marilyn Vanats. Matthew, held back by Asperger’s Syndrome still manages to develop an intellectual relationship with Mare (Marilyn). Matthew graduates from the institution and with his parents connections becomes a successful entertainer. The two Doctors credited with his turnaround leave with Marilyn to New York State to move on to lucrative careers in the pharmaceutical industry.

Matt travels the world astounding crowds with his special talents. He challenges his audience with his photographic memory, abilities to read two pages of a book at one time with each eye independently, and learning new languages in a week. Growing bored with his “Side Show Freak” stardom he has chance to collaborate with Dr. Meacham and Dimment one more time who entice him with Marilyn as a bonus. Marilyn Vanats awakened by illegal stem cell therapy by Dr. Dimment convinces Matthew to collaborate with them against his mothers wishes. Matthew through extensive life experiences begins to develop socially against all odds. He also finds that he is the key to finding a common thread with all autistic patients.

Dr. Dimment and Dr. Meacham through previous lives in Europe see Stem Cell therapy as the future for treating Autism and many other neurological disorders. Matthew is naively pulled into the Doctor's nefarious plot and must fight to save Marilyn and the world from the twisted plan. Matthew develops into an unwilling agent against evil in our time and fights to save humanity.
.
Controversial Stem Cell research is the setting that anchors this book as a relevant topic for today’s’ reader. It is also intended to raise awareness in a fictional sense the opportunities for autistic patients when the proper care and treatment can be provided.

Editors Review Comments: G. Browning, Storyteller Publishing writes: The story progresses very well and is a page turner. I nearly read it through in one sitting.
The book is really remarkable and takes you on an incredible and plausible journey into the realm of the savant. The content was very interesting and engaging.
