Fat Vampire #3

All You Can Eat

Rate this book
The story of Reginald -- the world's slowest, weakest, most out-of-shape vampire -- continues in this third installment of the FAT VAMPIRE series…

+++++

Following the infamous "Ring of Fire" incident, the world's vampires are in a state of panic. Having been commanded by their creators to restore a better balance between humans and vampires, panicked bloodsuckers everywhere have begun "restoring" in the best ways they know -- by killing huge numbers of humans and turning the rest.

As more and more vampires go rogue and threaten to wage war, two-thousand-year-old Maurice's power as Deacon comes under fire, as the tens of thousands who hate him begin to rally together. And all the while, the Vampire Nation is falling apart, tumbling into chaos... as a war threatens to break, and as Reginald begins to discover some strange new supervampire abilities...

Will the center hold? Or will chaos overtake the Nation before Reginald even has a chance to eat that pizza he ordered?

I'm still not sure how I got hooked on this crazy little series. Still, I am and have, and so I have already started on the next one. In this particular book, the vampire nation has gone ape-st crazy and are killing and eating everybody in sight. Our intrepid heroes are on the lamb in Europe, and Reginald is depressed about everything - his weight, Maurice's inability to lead, and Nikki's non-stop addictions to blood and sex. Of course, he is really depressed about how the vampires are acting. For some reason, his depression was a downer for me, and so I hope he gets over it. The author seems to want his readers to care about what happens to a kid named Claire, but I'm not really invested in her at all. Not sure why, but that character is just not relevant to me... maybe she will be important later in the series - I hope not.

This series is fun and shallow and like eating potato chips - not sure why I like it, really greasy, but can't stop ingesting it.

Another Great installment in The Fat Vampire Series. This one is about the rising up of a majority of vampires in the U.S. Our humble heroes struggle to bring the rest of the vampires to their senses. This one ends on a cliffhanger. If you want some fun light and quick reading, check out this series. You can get all 6 books bundled together on your favorite digital formate.

So I just blew through all the "Fat Vampire" books in a couple days and they all get "worth the read". This is partly due to the sense of humor employed by the author in the telling but even more so in a pretty good story told well. These are not perfect stories, in particular the MC has a mind-boggling intelligence and yet gets surprised repeatedly. You'd think a highly intelligent being would consider the possibility the bad guys would betray him before it ever happened, let alone by the fifth time it happens, and yet the MC is surprised every time. This is in part due the author painting himself in a corner, by which I mean the MC is given such great mental powers that the author is forced to have his MC surprised to move the author's chosen story forward. However this is also the problem since the author has given the MC such great mental powers it should be impossible to surprise him.

Also, I found the first book the most enjoyable because the MC is dealing with his own immediate problems. Then the MC is put in the position of saving or damning the world. While I can enjoy those stories they only have one possible outcome. Still, the author gets quite inventive in those outcomes so the bottom line is:

While not perfect, these are very enjoyable humous stories that are worth the read.

About the Book: Vampires do not like this new regime, all these rules, especially the new ones that favor humans. Defiance soon turns into an outright mutiny. And as Council fails at its core, opposition rampages the streets. Piles of bloodless ripped apart bodies. Rogue youngling vampires, freshly turned, going insane. Even the Death Squads, vampire military of sorts, is itching to take a stand in the new game…

My Opinion: This book is a stepping stone to the next, nothing more. So if you don’t yet love the characters, it offers little to keep you interested. What was meant as mysterious and weird comes off as dull and uninteresting. Meaning series ended poorly for me, as I currently have no plans to continue.

Can't put it down

Each book builds on the previous one and is even better. These are the best books I've read in a long time. A wonderfully different take on the "perfect" or emo vampire. An excellent balance of humor and action with well-crafted characters. Thank you Johnny Truant for restoring my faith that there are still some gifted authors out there.

Book three

Mistakes: None
Plot: Another really fast read. I feel ripped off by how short these are. Nothing was concluded in this book. It's gadfly filler to move the story along. At this point I think all six books need to be combined into no more than s three book series.
Characters: No real growth in this book.
I rate this 4/10

Consequences.

The vampires were stupid and now they’ve gotten dumber. To them evolution means death and mayhem, leaving Reggie, Maurice and Nikki to find their way through the mess. Lot more violence in this one and idiocy. Here’s hoping Charles gets killed. Fast paced, fun and different.

Couldn't get through it

I enjoyed the first book in this series, the second not as much, but I couldn't even finish the third. I stopped about a third of the way through it, as I completely lost interest. The characters are dully written, as if even they don't want to be in this story. Disappointing

Short and sweet and better than the first two books. Seems to be better written, darker, bloodier, and the stakes feel more down-to-earth and therefore, higher. Also some of Reginald’s new powers are really cool to read about. I said in my review of the second book this would be the book that decides if I continue with the series and I for sure will be.

The problem with most weight gain content I read is that it's mostly for fetish purposes made by someone who obviously does not know that health risks are a thing and just acts like it's their thing to fetishize over and to simp over overweight characters just because of their bodies, these stories do not do that which makes them good.

I enjoyed this book.

I thought this book was better than the last one. This series still makes me smile and laugh all at once. I still recommend this series. I look forward to book 4.

Great Read😬

Hard to put down. Non stop action. I've read all 3 in 2 days, and am now working on 4. Although I have kindle unlimited, I plan to buy the series once it gets combined into one volume.

I love this series as it is very funny. I'd been meaning to read the series for a while and finally got around to it. Very glad I did. The characters are so quirky and come on , fangbook? Cracked me right up. Thank you very cool author. I'm on to book 4.

Not sure what I did not like about this book, maybe because I did not start at the beginning of the series. I felt I was missing information thus the book was hard to follow. I will have to check out the complete series to see if it makes better sense to me.

After a weak follow up, book 3 got back on course. I liked the change of course from book two to three. It got back to its core of solid humor and quick plot shifts. I really liked the expansion of Fangbook. After this book, I am excited to continue on to book 4.

Fat Vampire 3 Review

An increasingly crazy series of events is unfolding through this book and I have a feeling it's just going to get crazier as the story continues. But overall it was pretty amusing and worth the read.

Things are going crazy now. The vampires all communicate on social media (Fangbook) and have basically dismantled the Council. Anarchy reigns, Reginald has a new trick; his mind works so fast that time seems to slow down at times.

What can I say? Another book I picked up with low expectations, because the title made me laugh, which went on to surprise me by having a funny and endearing cast of characters (See also: Clowns vs Spiders.)

This was such a fun read! I love how Reginald is adapting to the vampire world, expanding his powers, and taking control of a dire situation. The council drama adds an extra layer of intrigue. I’m excited to see where the series goes next.

Such a great story. I loved the conflict, even though I saw it coming. I just liked the aspect of the Vampires suddenly revolting against the old ways. An entertaining read.
