When Brandt is called to a mission in Africa and Rebecca follows a lead regarding the vicious Disciples to Iceland both find way more than they were bargaining for.
Wow: just, wow! A very intense 45 minutes for me. I've become a Carolyn McCray junkie. I've now read 5 short stories & 4 novels in 6 days, & still can't put these books down.
The Betrayed Series is a must for those who like Dan Brown type historical / religious suspense, but with Clive Cussler or Stephen Coonts type action / adventure / military. It is a MUST read!
As always in the series the plot is almost nonexistent and the action plenty. For some reason though, this seems to be more troublesome in this short-story. There´s an introduction for a character I suppose will be important in the next book but other than that, there´s nothing really "big" going on here. The feeling of danger is gone because you know none of the characters will die so its just a few more firefights and last second escapes with almost no story to back it up. I suppose the best thing I can about it is that it was short, really, really short. Not a complete waste of time because, as always, the action is well written and exciting, but still very inconsequential and ultimately pointless.
Great bridge story between Havoc and Shiva! Carolyn McCray certainly knows how to leave a reader hungry for more! I just finished "Havoc" tonight, tore through "Covert" the bridge short story and am now ready to dive into "Shiva" which I'll have to force myself to stop reading because I have to work in the morning!
Still following the series/action and still those thoughts in the back of one's head asking,"What If"? This one questions the sex of the Messiah and has some very serious game changers and plot twists. The action is still intense, romance is there, moral implications are more pronounced, character development hasn't slipped since book one. A very good read.
This bridge story is actually a pretty essential piece of the puzzle in this series and I would highly recommend it if you are taking o the Betrayed series. As with all of the books in this series they are exciting and fast reads with a lot of unique themes.
I really getting into Brandt and his whole bullet proofness. I am anxious to read a full length novel that features Brandt. This is the fourth short story I have read and I crave more. Hopefully, there is a full length novel featuring Brandt somewhere in this boxed set.
This is bridge book in the 30 Pieces of Silver series. It's an excellent book to help find out what is going on with each character while the next book is being prepared. It's not necessary to read, but adds a little insight in what is coming up.
