This is a short, but intriguing glimpse into Dan McKenzie’s life after his “death.” There’s allusion to something that happened to him that may have been life changing, and we’re introduced to Alecia, who I believe is destined to also have a significant impact to Dan’s life. In the prior books, we have come to dislike and distrust Dan, but the hint here is that there’s hope for a different outcome than one might have expected. Only time will tell. Fair warning, this is a very short episode with no real answers, only hints of possibilities. The story also contains an incident of domestic violence and the manner in which law enforcement regards such that may be triggering for some, but it’s a small part of the story. Also, the matter of how Native Americans have been treated is addressed briefly, which is quite disturbing and rightfully so. Even though brief, I enjoyed this quick tantalizing read that has left me wondering just what exactly is coming next in this intriguing and compelling series.

Dan is dead - or is he? But why is he watching a beautiful woman in the woods? Just who is she? Why is she making a circle of stones and spreading stuff around? Blasted Dan. Just can't get rid of the monster. Now he is getting another woman under his spell. What is going to happen now? Once again a fantastic read.

Alecia is trying to mend the energies in the earth when someone spies on her. She knows he is plagued by evil. When she is attacked by an ex-boyfriend though, the stranger comes to the rescue, only to disappear before the authorities show up, with good reason. Interesting story that seems to "bridge" the series by reinstating a character thought to be gone.

A short but different type story. She has Dan back in the story but he is not discovered as the criminal he is. It a different type of interesting.

Merkaba was a strange book.

I didn"t really get the point of Merkaba. Two characters from the previous two books from the series Walk the Right Road were in this one and everyone else was new. The two characters from the previous had small parts and the book just seemed unnecessary to me.

So....is there another book or something as that was not an epic ending, I thought half the book was missing or something.
The first books were great this was a let down.
