Dead Eyed Dad

Rate this book
A series of brutal murders in Manchester lead DS Zak Banks to conclude that a copycat is loose in the city, mimicking the crimes of one of Britain's most notorious serial killers, Joseph Michael Lee.

Anna Marshall, daughter of Joseph Michael Lee, has done her best to keep her heritage a secret but the past catches up with her when the police ask her to visit her dad in prison. They suspect he knows who is behind the copycat murders but he will only talk to his daughter. Anna is horrified at the prospect of confronting the man who tried to make her his last victim because she is the only one who faced the dead eyed monster inside him and survived.

Anna finds herself dragged into a cat and mouse game with her manipulative father who has a hidden agenda, one that revolves around his beloved daughter. Her efforts to help the police take Anna straight back into the hell she never thought she'd have to face again, one that will prove once and for all whether her dad is just plain evil or if there is something rotten in the blood.

Author of over seventy books so far. Living on the beautiful west coast of Scotland with my husband, twin daughters and a cat called Mavis, although I am originally from Lancashire in the north of England.

My tastes in all things are eclectic, which extends to my writing. Although I primarily write crime books - especially gangland thrillers - I also write gothic historical romance and fantasy. I publish on Amazon Kindle and some of my novels are available in paperback too. I also have a traditional publishing contract with Boldwood Books.

When I'm not writing - which isn't very often - I enjoy reading Daphne Du Maurier, Edgar Allan Poe, Shirley Jackson, MR James and the Brontes, among many others. I also enjoy swimming, walking and spending time with my family.

Tense read

For me I found this book better than the last one, the plot was easier to follow. It kept me on the edge of my seat and I enjoyed it. Going to buy the next one right now. Can't say better than that.

Really good but wouldn't expect anything from this author. On the edge of your seat and just when you think you know what happens next there's another twist

A bit slow to start with, with lots of names to get to grips with, but fantastic plot with twists and turns all the way. A fantastic read

Only realised after I had read it that it was the second in a series perhaps if I had read the first, which I will do I may have enjoyed it more. Still an average read.
