I read some works by Asami Tohjoh (XY and Haginokouji) and this were BL porn, XY simply and rather silly, Haginokouji more interesting (young handsome boy from old noble and rich family in Kyoto is "loved" and then raped by dragon god worshiped in temple, his servant-lover must save him) and with less sex :o) but nothing so much good. But what surprise, this manga IS really good! And not BL (without one thing, hero´s former friend and nowadays enemy was as boy molested by priest and he is still haunted by this memory, hero tries to cure him but he is killed by another assassin). Very good plot and beautiful art.
Hero is very handsome man and magnificent assassin for hire (and florist - he love plants). Clearly inspired by seinen Golgo 13 and Lone wolf and cub (and maybe by Kurama from shonen Yu Yu Hakusho - his beuatiful and subtile body and his love for dangerous plant :o)) This is shojo version assassin´s tale - hero is very beautiful, cool and amazing. I don´t like Golgo 13, the plot is for me silly and hero ugly and unatractive. This is reading for male readers only. :o) I love Lone wolf and cub, hero is handsome (only manly, but still atractive) and plot very interesting, but I sometimes don´t understand hero´s behavior. This hero is perfectly understable for female readers (for me he was). He kills only "the bad guys", he has his own moraly code and he can often to help another characters. When (for women ideal) assassin for hire, also Kaito Yagami from X-kai! :o)
And merry thing - his name is "Kaito Yagami" and he said that he is "Death". This shojo manga is from 1998. Famous shonen manga Death Note from 2003 has hero "Raito Yagami" who also kills "bad guys" and has his own moral code. (And he is very handsome and understable.) Clearly inspirated by Asami Tohjoh´X-kai! :o)
