Kind of a pleasant meander with the author and his sometimes quirky choices about what is of interest along the way. Shrimpers, gun shop owners, environmentalists, mostly passionately connected to a landscape that feels apart from the rest of the country. Written in 1993, it already feels like a rumination on a lost world.
