'Norms' like 15-year-old Wynn Jameson don't stand a chance against the super-clone 'Doppels' that dominate competitive Irish dance in 2112 Chicago. But when Wynn rescues a Doppel scheduled for termination, she discovers new hope and new friends--as well as the truth behind a 30-year-old mystery...and the powerful people who will do anything to cover it up.
I thought this book would be right up my alley- Irish dance + dystopia + Rod Vock- what could be better? Quite honestly, I found it much weaker than the Kaylee O'Shay books and Rod Vick's other books. It was a good quick read, but his writing is much better in his other books. I thought the story moved too fast and was too disturbing in some parts- and I got through the graphic images in The Hunger Games and To Kill A Mockingbird much easier, I'm not squeamish. if you are an Irish dancer or read Kaylee O'Shay, I recommend this; it's a nice story, but not his best work. I found the excerpt at the end for his next book, The Haunted Island Feis, to be much more interesting. Maybe he'll make a comeback with that one.
