The novel is basically is all about an investigation by the famous detective, the one and only Sudhir Kohli. A murder takes place at the starting of the book ( I won't name of whom because it would spoil your interest for a few pages.).
🚬🚬
At the start of the investigation, one would think why anyone except 1 man would like to kill such a clean man. What would be the reason? But eventually, till the last, the reader would have a whole lot of people with their own reasons to commit a murder. At one point the reader would think that everyone is lying and everyone altogether has murdered the deceased.
🚬🚬
Coming towards the character of Sudhir Kohli, who is the center of the novel, one would be so much in love with him that would like to meet him once. Not like some conventional novel where the detective is depicted as a clean and sophisticated man, Sudhir Kohli is the one who is best at his job and also never loses a chance for his fun.

Coming towards my take on the novel, I would like to say that if you like reading crime and suspense, go for it. It will truly make you glued to itself till the end. If you are not so much offended by some grammatical errors or so, certainly pick this book to read as this is a translation of his Hindi novel.

This novel is one of the pulpiest of pulp fiction, with garish characters, kitschy dialogues and an uncomplicated plot, meant to provide some escapist fun. It is very entertaining, provided one does not mind a big dose of male chauvinism. I read it knowing what to expect and I wasn't disappointed. But the biggest problem I had is with the editing of this translated version, or I should say non-editing. If the publisher of this book is reading my review, by any chance, I would like to offer my editing services at a very very low price. Please, get the book edited by someone who knows at least basic english before publishing it...

A classic 'whodunit' plot that keeps you engaged, though it’s not overly complicated.

Story : 4 stars
Exaggerated dialogues and the unnecessary focus on objectification : 1 star

While the story had potential, the execution didn’t quite work for me. It’s worth a read if you enjoy classic pulp fiction.

Surender Mohan Pathak is being considered as the legend in Hindi crime fiction. This book is translation of his novel Akhiri Maksad. As I have read this book in both languages, I feel the same magic.

It is being said that everyone has his or her double somewhere in the world but main lead of this novel finds it in the same city so what were it consequences, find it for yourself. Read it and enjoy..

Good plot, and well etched out characters, but the translation from Hindi is pretty poor. Several phrases from Hindi have been translated verbatim into English and don't make sense at all. Would've been a pleasure to read this book with a better quality of translation.
