This is the story of a young Dane who goes to America for a year to help with his medical studies.

On the plus side, this is written from the male perspective which makes a nice change. There are no 'bad guys' in it who are trying to enslave everybody or end the world.

On the negative though, I have to say that there was no 'hook' for me. The story didn't really grab me and the characters were all pretty one-dimensional. The 'other' family are the ones that had the most character but the doctor's family, including Christian from Denmark, did absolutely nothing for me.

A pleasing enough story but just not right for me.

Great story and characters.

This book set has editing errors that detract from the story. It seems to be a language issue with some words being in the wrong order.

Change

Who would even believe that you could become an animal only at night? That you would never grow old? Is it a gift or a curse? READ and choose for yourself.

If you're expecting the classic POV from the usual urban fantasy heroine with huge aggressiveness problems you're going to be deluded.

I liked this book. For a change the hot male is the narrator. For a change the story doesn't revolve around a huge catastrophe where the world is gonna end and only the heroine can save the day.
And for a change (I havent' found this since anne rice), since we're talking about almost immortals, the story happens during several years of time.

There's no hero here, if not the one that lives everyday life searching for love. There's just normal people trying to live their life.
There's no evil lord ready to destroy the world with his army of the darkness.

How refreshing!

It had a feeling of one of those books written in the sixties about long separation between true loves.

Good work to the author for the courage of telling a fantasy story in such a different way, so distant from the "usual" storyline.
