This Dark Guide is determined to make Avery pay for the death of someone she held dear.
Now Avery’s life has gone from seemingly perfect to falling apart. What will be at stake next? Her life? Her love? And who will be there in the end to help her up off the ground?
Even the strongest love can unravel.
Will Avery be able to hold it all together, or will she just let go?

What do you say...when you don't want something to close? This is not a normal read for myself, and I wasn't sure when I started the first in the series (The Many Lives of Avery Snow) if I would appreciate it. I have come to love Avery's story, and grow with the characters that Christy Sloat so well developed. The characters come to life and you can see them being your best friend and hanging out. You can see Ianni struggling, and feel Avery being torn. I don't want to give away to much detail, but this is a true love story, like no other ever told-with some amazing paranormal mix. Some things I never thought possible in life, I now wonder, because of this book. I wonder what would happen if I had to live like Avery, feel that love, watch my best friend walk...and see evil struggle to take over. I have only fallen back in love with reading recently, and these kind of books are why! Thank you Christy for a beautiful series to fall in love with, relate to, challenge, and gasp at. I wouldn't miss your chance at this beautifully written, well detailed, descriptive, adventurous, love-warped, and spellbound journey of Avery discovering her true self, true love, true friendship, and all that comes and goes in life. Beautiful! Truly beautiful. I wouldn't mind watching this as a movie, or two, or three!
I received this book free from the author to pre-read. What an amazing end to a wonder set of books! This books follows where The Many Lives Of Avery Snow and Ianni left off. Avery is with Dallas and Landon has forgotten his past lives with Avery! There is another Dark Guide trying to ruin Avery life for taking the life of her one true love. Who will Avery end up with? What will happen to the Dark Guide? You just have to read the book to find out! Trust me it is well worth it! If you haven't read The Many Lives Of Avery Snow and Ianni yet I suggest reading those first or you will be lost!
I am a huge fan of Christy Sloat.. She is a wonderful addition to the indie community if you ask me. I mean heck she totally enthralled this scaredy cat in a Ya Paranormal The Brown house But this isnt about The Brown House at all.. Though im anxious to go back!
This is about Avery Snow and her unraveling.. Avery what should i do with you!! The Unraveling of Avery Snow is the last book of The Past Lives Series.. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! Although i was sneaky and planted seeds to grow in Christy's brain.. And i PRAY they come to fruition.. You Can read my thoughts on the other 2 books in the series.. The Many Lives of Avery Snow and Ianni.. Upon finishing the unraveling i as filled with so many emotions Pride ( 1.i finished a freaking series!!! 2. Christy for the amazing job she did) Sadness ( I MEAN COME ON I FINISHED A SERIES!!) Joy (for Avery) Confusion (i know this was/is supposed to be the last but as i already stated i see more.. like 3 maybe 4) Rushed ( as good of a job Sloat did i felt it all happened too FAST)
Avery's love life has been rough from the get go.. When we first met Avery she was totally crushing on her favorite bartender and one of my book boyfriends, Dallas.. And as their attraction is finally acknowledged she meets her soul mate.. For the billionth time.. Landon.. Landon happens to be Dallas cousin interesting huh.. At this point if you havent read the first book you may not want to continue..
The triangle keeps you switching sides at first i was Team Dallas.. But then I switched to Team Landon for Avery and Dallas for me :D! They faced and killed Dark Guides and Landons memory was wiped.. Yet the triangle continues.. While Avery and Dallas stay together she STRUGGLES with her feelings..
But I can see why with Dallas opening his own restaurant and blowing off Avery.. I admit I was pretty upset with him and to make matters worse Sarafe, Dedricks mate who vows revenge.. The only happiness is Kerris upcoming wedding..
I cant lie.. There are things that upset me in Avery's world.. But im pretty freaking sure they were intentional That Christy Sloat likes to play with my emotions!!

Thank you Christy Sloat.... It's a perfect ending. Perfect! I almost think you added a lovely bow. I know I am jumping ahead sorry! This book series makes you wonder what your life would be like, if you lived it this way. Amazing!
We start right back up where we left off with book one... Avery and Dallas opening restaurant and Landon... Searching! (Extensive searching, no stone left unturned) Avery is with Dallas but of course, Landon is still here. All of his (Landon's) extensive searching is creating problems, jealousy. How will Avery deal with that? I mean the girl can't help but wonder. I know I would .. Really. What if? Just what if? No matter what poor Avery always seems to be either hurting one or the other. Always hurting herself. I Loved the development of Lanni's character. Human life might not be so bad. (If you have not read Lanni's novella- you must!) Twists and turns a long the way.. Truths discovered and choices made. I love that we get answers..of course I am not given them to you.. Ha! I will tell you if you want to know who is chosen- read it! Does darkness prevail? Read it. What happens to our Avery? Does she make it out in one piece? Yes-you know right - read it! Christy Sloat fabulous. I am a fan, I have enjoyed everything you have put to paper. (Albeit virtual paper for me haha) Thank you and please by all means, know I am fan! Always!
I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review. This is the second amazing book in the Past Lives Series by Christy Sloat. Another job well done for the New Adult genre. I'm still loving the reincarnation theme. I feel like this book has more flashbacks than the first, which lets the reader learn more about Avery's past lives. Much like the first book, the amount of romance is perfect. For the most part, all of the characters are the same just their situations change. The biggest character surprise for me was Landon. He did a comp, eye 180 as far as I am concerned. I now like him better than Dallas. Landon didn't change but Dallas did and I don't like the new Dallas. Ianni was more present in this book, but she totally shocked me in the end. Again Christy Sloat proves that she can write a great book and that she is an awesome author. The story line is still awesome! The characters are still great but fell a little flat for me in this one. It's a romantic book and gets your emotions going. Plus there is some mystery involved. I can't wait to see where it goes after that ending.
I received an e-ARC copy of this book in return of an honest review. I read this book straight through from beginning to end in three hours because I was that addicted to this book. There were a lot of times I felt very sorry for Avery. It's hard when you are to ignore something or someone but yet still have feelings. I absolutely loved this series!! This author has a way with words that will keep you craving more all the way til the end. Even as I write this review, I feel all warm and smiles and very happy with the ending. Thank you, Christy Sloat, for filling me with love and knowing things can always turn out for the best. I give this book with 10*s.
**************MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS!!!! ~~~ DO NOT READ ANYTHING FURTHER UNLESS YOU WANT THE BOOK TO BE SPOILED!!!!!!*****************************************
Wow! Where do I start? I know one thing...The very last line of the book will always stick with me. I could see the visions as she had them. In the very beginning when Gunther was trying to get them all calmed down so he could introduce her new guide, and that he was questioning whether it was the right thing to shave Landon's memories, I wondered then if maybe he knew of a way to reverse it, and did so without saying anything. And when she met her daugher...I cried. Her daughter knew her. And to me it was also like a vision to come. Like seeing her daughter from a lifetime before, opened her up to the idea of kids this lifetime around. When Dallas went to New York with "Sarah" I wondered then if this was the dark guide she had been warned about. I loved that she was able to learn the things she was able to (Avery) about her past lives and why she kept coming back and it didn't come from one of her spirit guides. Sue, Justin's mom played a very vital role in helping her truly see what she was doing here this life time. The fact that she shared similar gifts as her son, also helped to explain why Justin is such a powerful psychic. It's literally in his blood. The guides wanted so desperately to tell her about why she kept coming back, but were not allowed. It had to come from a human, though it couldn't come from Justin. It wouldn't have....I want to say seemed appropriate but thats the wrong word. It just wasn't the right circumstances for it to be him to tell her. It had to come from an outside source. Someone that hadn't been through everything they had together. I am glad she realized she needed her dad back in her life, and that she went through the very painful process of letting her past go. It truly did set her on the path she needed to be. At the very end, when Gunther came down to help save Avery, and Lillith was with him with her newly pure white wings, I had chills. Avery had flown into the sky to take down a dark guide so that two people she truly cared about would have a shot at happiness. When Gunther told Ianni that she would have a soul, I wanted to leap up and do a dance, though I couldn't because I had two sleeping kids on me LOL. I knew that Landon would find a way. And when he came to see her in California, and she realized what being apart had done, she started to find her way back to him...to where she felt she truly belonged. I also wondered, as the book was closing, if there will be more. What will become of Ianni now that she has a soul? Now that she can truly know and love someone with every part of her? I also had to kind of laugh when Gunther made Landon promise this would be the last time they reincarnated, that after this they would stay home.
Before starting this book tonight, I was on the phone with someone trying for an at home job position. We got onto the topic of books. He asked which books I was currently reading. I told him about TUOAS and he asked more about it. I gave him a brief description of the first book, TMLOAS, and he seems truly interested. :)
I know I love these books, and this will also be one I will order in paperback. I will be reading this one many times!
In the second installment of The Past Lives Series The Unraveling of Avery Snow I saw the writer, Christy Sloat, grow as an author. I loved Book One in the series and immediately picked up Book Two. I found myself engrossed the character of Avery. Avery is much more complex in this installment. While Avery has her memories of their past lives together, Landon does not. Avery has a life with Dallas and is trying to move on and put her past behind her but her life is anything but normal. Ianni, now a fallen angel, is living with her. Kerri is planning her wedding and future with Justin. Dallas is opening a new restaurant. Landon is sleeping with every woman in town. Avery has a new Spirit Guide, Amanda. Oh, and did I mention that a Dark Guide, Sarafe, is hell bent on revenge since Avery killed her lover. That’s just the opening chapters of the book! If you were a fan of The Past Lives of Avery Snow this is a definite read for you. Avery grew so much and really changed my perception of her. In Book One, I wanted to slap Avery and yell at her that she should be honored to have one man lover her so much that he came searched for her in every life. What woman doesn’t want a love like that? Book Two made me see her differently. In the Unraveling of Avery Snow, she does just that. Avery has to fall apart to see what kind of person she is and decide what kind of person she truly wants to be. Spoiler Alert - - - (sorry, I don’t know how else to put this part into words) The trip down the HOH trail is her epiphany. Here Avery realizes what it has taken her several lifetimes to figure out. You have to love yourself before you can love anyone else. Avery realizes that she must fix herself, be happy with herself and let go of all the anger and guilt of all her past lives in order to be happy in this one. The symbolism of the waterfall and the cleansing rain of Washington State are evident. We have to let go of the past and move on each day a new, refreshed and better person. I was in tears from Kerri’s wedding till Avery’s walk down the HOH Trail. I felt emotionally exhausted. Had to put the book down and jot notes to myself to make sure I could convey this properly to anyone reading this review. That doesn’t happen often. I read books to escape not to grow as person. This book did both. While I loved this book, I would not be giving an honest review if I did not mention the story line of the Dark Guide, Sarafe. I thought that part of the story would play a more dramatic role. The demise of Sarafe came so swiftly that I finished the book going humph…..I would have liked that scene to be more intense. While Sarafe makes appearance throughout the story, she didn’t seem to play the role I thought she would. I still loved the book and highly recommend it!
I was excited to read The Unraveling of Avery Snow so that I could discover what had become of Avery, Dallas, and Landon. As I began the book, I could see the growth in Christy's writing (not that it was ever bad, I could just see that she was only getting better from an already great starting point!)
The story begins pretty much where the last book ended. Avery and Dallas are happy together (mostly) and getting ready to celebrate the opening of Dallas's new restaurant. Landon seems to be on the search for his partner in this life (and is careful not to miss any possibilities, if you know what I mean). While she is committed to Dallas and is happy in her relationship, she is still drawn to Landon and can't help but be jealous of the many women he seems to be sleeping with.
As the story progresses so does Avery's unraveling. Dallas's job becomes more demanding and their relationship suffers because of it. Avery also becomes aware of a new Dark Guide who is out for vengeance which causes stress and unease for the story's heroine. But with all the stress and drama that unfolds, Avery grows closer to Landon and the same seems to hold true for Landon. Poor Avery! She's stuck again between hurting Dallas or hurting Landon, and all of it added up is only hurting her. She realizes that she needs to focus on her and what makes her happy for awhile before she becomes completely unraveled.
As the story reaches its arc, we (the reader and the characters themselves) discover the truth about some characters and how it effects the outcome. What will the Dark Guide do? Will Dallas and Avery stay together? Will Avery choose to be with Landon instead? Will our heroine even make it through the story alive? The answers are in the book of course, so you'll have to read it for yourself to find out. And I definitely recommend that you read it. It's a relatively quick read and one that the reader can immerse themselves in. Its romantic, its dramatic, its an all and all great story that ties up the series with a pretty little bow.
In this follow up to The Many Lives of Avery Snow, Avery continues to struggle between her desire to make a life with Dallas and and her soul's desire to be with Landon. She loves both men and her heart aches for both of them. To make things more difficult on her, Landon's memories have been altered so that he doesn't remember her in this life or any of the others. He only knows her to be Dallas's girlfriend. So everytime Avery see's Landon, she knows the truth and knows why he walks around looking lost and alone. In fact, everyone (Ianni, Dallas, Kerri, Justin, even her dad) knows why Landon is the way he is.
Not only does Avery have to deal with knowing the truth while Landon does not, but she also faces other challenges in this book. Her relationship with Dallas is strained and she's constantly looking over her shoulder because of a vengeful Dark Guide named Sarafe, hell bent on avenging Dedrick's death. If you read The Many Lives of Avery Snow, you'll remember that Dedrick is the Dark Guide who wanted Landon's soul and was killed by Ianni when she used her Angel Light to destroy him and Benjamin. Now Sarafe has threatened to hurt everyone Avery loves as payment for helping destroy Dedrick.
Along with these challenges Avery faces, she must also deal with her own inner feelings and emotions, deciding that leaving California for somewhere more serene is her only option at this point. I really connected with this book because I saw so much of myself in Avery's situation. For me, this book touched me on a different level and I really embraced that. This sequel is by far my favorite in the series and I really hope the author continues the series, as I would love to see where Avery's life path goes. I give this 5 stars!

The Unraveling of Avery Snow by Christy Sloat is the second book in the past lives series. It continues right after book 1 ends, so you should definitely read book 1 - The Many Lives of Avery Snow - first. Avery and her friends have defeated the demon guides and Landon has had his memory "shaved" so he doesn't remember his past lives with Avery. Avery & Dallas are together and happy. But then things start to go wrong. A female demon guide enters the picture, Avery is torn between her love for Dallas and he love for Landon, and Dallas is busy a starting his own restaurant. Will Avery find true happiness in this life? And will she discover who she's meant to be with? I'm a big fan of this series by Christy Sloat - which surprised me because I don't believe in past lives and reincarnation. But I liked how the author blended religion and past lives and angels together into a unique and understandable concept. The story flows smoothly and has an interesting plot line. There's a lot of excitement and drama and romance. And the characters are amazing. Every character is well-developed and realistic. As I read these books, I became invested in the character's lives and I wanted to know what was going to happen. I highly recommend this book and this series to fans of YA paranormal romances.
As often happens to me with sequels, I didn't quite like this book as much as the first one in the series. Yet, I was compelled to read it, as I needed to know what happened to the characters. I would also recommend anyone else read it, to finish the series and to find out what happens to Avery, et. al. That being said, I didn't put it down until I was done reading it.
Her heart is still torn in two different directions, though she tries to convince herself otherwise. I found myself still upset with her choice in the romance department. I felt sorry for her as she tries to determine who is going to get hurt, because there is no answer that makes everyone happy. I did find myself changing my opinion on what decisions I thought she should make. There are definite pros and cons to both decisions. You may find yourself contemplating the story even after you have finished it.
There are plenty of twists and turns in the plot. You definitely need to read the series in order, to truly appreciate the story.
In the unlikely event that another story appears in this series, I will be sure to pick it up!
I received a complimentary ecopy of this installment in exchange for my honest review.
‘The past lives series’ is quite an interesting concept. Avery and Landon are destined to be together and each time they live their souls find a way to meet. Along the way spirit guides help the pair, but they still tend to encounter problems that try separate them, and encourage them to meet other people.
The Unravelling of Avery Snow is the second book in the series. In this instalment Avery is trying to forge a life without Landon, his memories have been shaved and he doesn’t remember they should be together. Avery begins a relationship with someone else but it is clear to followers of the series that she really should be with Landon.
When I read book one of the series ‘The Many Lives of Avery Snow’ I wasn’t overly impressed, infact I was quite disappointed, the story didn’t pull me in and I found the writing erratic, with unnatural dialogue and flat characters. This part is much better, the writing is tighter and the plot has more depth. Though some areas are still lacking, the overall execution of the plot makes for a much more comfortable read in the second book.
I was given this wonderful book by it's author but I am going to give you an honest review about it. Warning, It WILL contain spoilers... First, I thought that giving Avery a new Spirit Guide was good especially when her old one was human now and living with her. I thought that the whole Dark Guide hurting people to avenge the one she loves thing was a bit twilightish. In the book series,"Twilight" up until the end of,"Eclipse" Victoria avenged James her Vampire lover that got killed by the Cullens because he was hurting Bella. I did think that Avery and Dad bonding time was great for them because she didn't get to know him growing up so that breakfast with the two was perfect. Avery going off on her own to Washington I thought was the best move for her after Dallas broke up with her. I thought the whole Ianni and Dallas hook up was a bit iffy though.. I mean Avery was right.. you just don't do that.. but I was okay with it by the end of the book. The ending of the book was just perfect.. Landon proposing to Avery 3 weeks out from giving birth to their son. Overall, It was a great book that I'll re-read someday.
So as I begin this next extension in the series my mind is finally beginning to discover the answers to my impending questions of my belief in reincarnation and love that can outlast those lifetimes in much the sane way that Avery does. In The Unraveling of Avery Snow she must first take a journey of self discovery to find her true heart and soul. She must take a leap of faith and do the impossible Leaving everything and everyone she loves, not knowing how it all will end or what waits for her on the other side. Will life ever work the way Avery wants it to or will it end in tragedy and heartache. Does ultimate sacrifice count for anything besides paying the price with your life? There are few who hold those answers and even fewer who can tell them to you . I will not tell you what the future holds for Avery but, I can honestly say that I loved reading this series and was deeply heart broken when it all came to an end. I hope to be reading more from author Christy Sloat in the near future.
I just finished reading The Unraveling of Avery Snow. It's 3:30 AM and my heart is so warm and happy. I'm a huge AS fan already but the way the story moved and the progression of events leading to the ultimate ending is breathtaking. I am sad to see Avery go but I know that this is not the last we've heard of Christy Sloat. The story pulls you in and really puts you in Avery's shoes. You can see hear and smell everything that is going on around Avery. You can feel the love she has for her friends. Avery's a complicated woman just being, loving Dallas but feeling Landon's pull on her as her soulmate. It tears you apart as her whole world unravels around her, but then is re formed and new and beautiful. As far as happy endings go. I love the ending that was brought to Avery, Ianni, Kerri, Dallas, and of course Landon. Even Lillith has her own ending. It's a beautiful book beautifully written and completely understood from the heart of the amazing author.
I read The Unraveling of Avery Snow by Christy Sloat. I recommend this book if you have read the first book in the series. As things continue from the first book to the second, Avery and Dallas are still together, Landon has had his memory shaved. He does not remember his past lives with Avery or really who she is other than Dallas's girlfriend. A new Spirit Guide has been assigned to Avery because Ianni lost her angel status and became human when she helped her defeat Dedrick and Benjamin, the Dark Guides. Avery is helping Ianni fit in to the human world by letting her live with her. Dallas begins his restaurant and forgets Valentine's Day with Avery. Avery's life and lives start to unravel and reveal things about her. I very much enjoyed this book! The creativeness of the events in the story are great and I loved it!
Fate can be Fatal! We've all come to love Avery and her pals throughout the Past Lives series, and The Unraveling brings us to an epic conclusion. Avery's not safe and without the protection of Ianni, she may never be. She strives for happiness and peace in her life, but her soul whispers to her heart the things her mind does not want to hear. Why can't she be content with Dallas? Why can't they have their happily ever after? Because the memory of Landon lurks in her subconscious leaving her longing for more. With dark guides still in pursuit of her infinity soul, Avery must make a decision that will leave someone heart broken. Does she have the strength to find her own happiness or does this lifetime end too soon?

The Unraveling of Avery Snow by Christy Sloat is the second entertaining read in the Past Lives Series. The story unfolds with the same cast of characters who we journey with and get to know better on a much deeper level.
The development of the characters, and at times the way the author pushes her characters in ways I did not expect, ensured that this second instalment was a thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining read.
The author's style, which I love, was ever present in this book, and helped to create a lovely new adult read. Fabulous level of romance and a hint of mystery, will keep fans very happy.
Christy Sloat The Unraveling of Avery Snow The Past Lives #2
I loved reading the first book, The Many Lives of Avery Snow, and couldn't wait to see where things were going to lead in this one. I've never been able to decide if I'm team Landon or team Dallas, and in this book it gets even more confusing for Avery. Some parts were predictable, but that didn't take anything away from the enjoyment, and there were plenty more twists and turns throughout the whole story to keep me gripped. A thoroughly entertaining read that left me thinking about past lives and the possibilities (though I'm not sure I would want to remember).
I received an e-copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.
This is the last book in the Avery series and my favorite. Just when Avery thought she could settle down and get things back to normal, she was sadly mistaken. She is being pursued by a vengeful dark guide, who is holding nothing back to make sure Avery pays. Avery's wants nothing more than to spend some time with her boyfriend but he seems too busy these days to pay her any attention. This forces Avery into a weekend getaway with the "other man" where romantic feelings are rekindled. Does Avery defeat the dark Guide, does she finally choose between Dallas or Landon or does she decide to be alone? All these questions and more will be revealed when you read this enthralling book. This book was wonderfully written and I can't wait to read the next series that Chritsy creates.
The Unraveling Of Avery Snow was a fitting ending to The Past Lives Series. In the face of constant danger and ruthless threats, Avery chose not to cower behind her Watcher, but instead, she comes into her own as a woman. She makes the tough choices in order to protect the ones she loves. Amidst heartbreak and pain, Avery unravels, only to reveal a stronger, more vibrant woman she never let shine. Sloat hit the nail on the head with this story; although I'm not a huge fan of happy endings (they happen much too often), some stories require them, and some characters deserve them. This story displays just that.
First of all, let me state that I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
The Unraveling of Avery Snow is the sequel to The Many Lives of Avery Snow, and I have to say this book was just as entertaining as the first!
Avery's challenges are brought forth in vivid detail. She has to choose between her past love from her past lives, and the man she is dating. The intricacy of the plot will keep you spell bound, and Avery's inner battle begins, along with an external one that keeps her in a constant battle for love.
I definitely recommend both books in this series!!
While I really, really, REALLY like the first book in the series The Many Lives of Avery Snow, I had a hard time saying I loved it. I have no such qualms with The Unraveling Of Avery Snow...I LOVED THIS BOOK!!! We get a chance to get to know the characters a little more, especially Avery. We start to realize why she makes the decisions she does. She definitely comes into her own. And of course, a happy ending. Most definitely was the perfect ending to an awesome series. I was super sad to see it end, but I loved the way Christy wrapped things up. Sorry no spoilers here. You have to go read it to see who Avery ends up with. It still had a good bit of action and suspense in this one. Also had quite a few shocking moments in it. You will not be able to put it down until you finish reading it. Michelle Jetton
