I picked up this book by Cassandra Baker Durham at a moment I felt completely knocked down, crushed, and bowed over with discouragement.

This book is written in such a way as to get you past 30 days with words of encouragement--to be fully persuaded. (smile) I personally didn't need 30 days, as I am already fully persuaded. But what I did need in my moment of discouragement was to read her personal testimony that made me feel as if she was sitting right beside me, speaking in a sistah-girl voice, saying in essence, "C'mon, you can do this! Don't give up!" while using scriptural reminders. Each chapter allows you to digest a scriptural thought and enjoy an exercise at the end that will allow you to reflect and meditate on how God has helped you overcome some adversity in your life.

Christians understand that it is mostly in retrospect that we may reflect on how God has been there, holding on to us while walking us through some adversity--some weakness--some challenge. While He does this mostly through his word the bible, He can and often does use others to encourage us as well. You will not be disappointed by picking this book up! I know the words will reach out and hug you to your heart as it did me!

Are you in need of a little encouragement in your life? Do you feel like you want to give up? Fully Persuaded: 30 days of Encouragement in Times of Trouble just might be the book for you. In her debut book, Cassandra Baker-Durham talks a little about her struggles in life that so many of us can relate too. She then goes on to talk about the power of God and how just a simple Bible verse or encouraging word can pull you through. There is nothing like the power of prayer. This is not one of my usual books that I read, but I am glad that I have it on hand during the times when i get discouraged. Congrats to Cassandra on her first book and I look forward to more of her powerful literature in the future.

I was very skeptical about my enjoyment/understanding regarding reading this particular genre of material. This was my first time reading a self-help/autobiographical/devotional piece other than the Bible itself. This particular book is full of emotional events where certain scriptures were utilized for motivational and healing purposes.

I have not finished this book because just as the title implies, it should be read over the course of 30 days. The book can be read in a shorter time period if need be; however, I rather consume this read on a day-by-day basis. This book is full of daily affirmations and scriptures to motivate the receiver into a positive, calm state of mind. The autobiographical portions of this piece illustrates the tragedy and pain that the author faced in her past and overcame through the words and belief of a higher power.

I have always had personal struggles with deciphering and interpreting the stories and scriptures of the Bible, but this author breaks the scriptures down in a way that the message can be received. This author definitely has a gift regarding this genre and she should continue with other motivational and inspiring pieces.

Never once did I doubt this writer, in addition, her first book really inspired and continues to inspire me. Although I have read this book in it's entirety, I continue to read this book on a daily basis. I read this book along with my daily devotion. I also appreciate the way Cassandra made the book very personal for the reader to be able to relate and realize if GOD can do it for her, HE'LL surely do it for me!!!! Thank you Cassandra for putting so much of your personal story and showing the reader exactly how to become FULLY PERSUADED!!!!!!

I Finally Overcame

With daily affirmations, scriptures and words of encouragement, Cassandra Baker Durham’s “Fully Persuaded” put me in an awkward position. I had to face some things that I didn’t want to. Things I hadn’t addressed in years. This book helped me overcome a lot, and I thank God and the author for this book, for allowing me this 30-day journey.

I highly recommend “Fully Persuaded.” It is uplifting and inspiring. I would love to read more from this author.

"Fully Persuaded: 30 Days of Encouragement in Times of Trouble" is a very inspirational booklet penned by talented Author Cassandra Baker Durham. It is obviously a very different genre than the first book, "Summer of Wrath", that I previously read and reviewed but nonetheless, I found the common thread of the author's testimonial. Other than that, it is a refreshing change as this author shares her innermost self, her sorrow and suffering, and most importantly her faith and her joy.

This 30 day devotional is meant to be pondered upon and digested on a daily reflective basis. Author Cassandra Baker Durham encourages her readers to dwell on the events in their lives, whether positive or negative, and realize that God is "the greatest recycler" and will most definitely use these events for His glory. No matter the circumstances of our lives, no matter the experience, no matter if we have made good or bad choices, no matter the heartache or the loss, God loves us and will be there for us each and every step of the way.

This author is genuinely and openly sharing her life experiences with us. She writes of her own valleys, storms, and the problems she has faced in life and encourages us in this 30 day devotional to face ours with a faithful and grateful heart...as she inspires us to let our "light shine" through...all for the glory of God.

This book was encouraging. There were a few grammar/punctuation errors in the e-book. It bothered me a little but not enough to keep me from getting the encouragement from the book that God intended.

I am sure I will pick this up again and read just one of the short encouraging chapters for a day when I am feeling discouraged. I don't want to promise to read it through in one month because I have a lot of devotional/spiritual books I want to read.

Some of the encouraging things from the book, reminders, not new things I didn't know, I posted on sticky notes hanging on my desk. We all need reminders of things we already know. In the hard times Satan likes to try and make us doubt the things about God that we know/knew to be true. He is the Father of Lies you know. God DOES care. God DOES love us.

One quote from the book to share with you...
"Nothing that you are going through is strange to God and he knows how and when to deliver you!"

This little book was a great encouragement. I like the short chapters, perfect for a quick read, an encouragement for our day. Maybe I will try and read a chapter at the end of the day, before bed some nights, so I go to sleep thinking on the things of Christ instead of laying there dwelling on our problems.

This devotional is a gold mine of truths, revelations, and encouragement. I dare you to read it and have the restraint to stick to its one-passage-a-day format. If you are anything like me, you'll find it hard to put down. I know this devotional will be reread by me many times in the future. I'm thankful the author so willingly let God use her!
