OMG this is bad... The book felt way too rushed even as the character developments. Somehow this book didn’t work for me. The sex scenes are very explicite and too much for my taste. For example, I don’t need to read how our “hero” gets a blow job from another woman in his bar while our heroine watches and fleds the room. Then he goes down on the same woman while the author explains all the ways he uses his tongue. Funny part, the hero tells the heroine the next day he didn’t have sex with her. Okay just because you didn’t shove your dick into her, it doesn’t mean you didn’t have “sex” with her. So for our safety gang, you might want to skip this one. Our hero is a manwhore who screws every woman who walks into his bar. He even banged the heroines best friend some time ago. No not my cup of tea. I couldn’t care less if they had their HEA, because somehow there wasn’t a real connection besides sex.

Emory has problems when is comes to letting go, when she hears about a bar where pretty much anything goes she goes there hoping it's just what she needs to let loose.
Alex is the bartenter at Phoenix Rising and when he sees Emory there's something about her that has him puching to get her away as fast as possible. But when he can't get her out of his head he finds her at her flower shop and things quickly get out of control. Which is saying something for a man who has control down to an art. What is it about Emory that has him all in knots? Can he help her let go of the past and can she help him find something he never even knew he was missing?
Emory has problems that she's trying to get over and she does it in her own way. She's strong even while she thinks of herself as weak. Watching her journey throughout the story and learn how to grow makes you feel like you really know her and want to see he succed. Alex for all his self profesed skills is thrown by Embory, but I loved watching him embrace it and not run away from it. See him think he was so strong at first and then learning his shortcomings makes you see how go these two are together and for each other. Loved the story beyond their romance it helps draw you into the world. The secondary characters are all also well thought out and put together and it makes this story even better.

Very good book. There were several issues addressed and, in my opinion, worked through with style. I'm hoping that there are other books about characters mentioned.
