The 60 Second EMT

Rate this book
Thoroughly updated, the new second edition incorporates the latest ACLS protocols from the AHA and is compatible with the latest DOT curriculum for EMT-Basic. New chapters have been added on the assessment of drug reactions, hazardous waste emergencies, and the AIDS patient. An invaluable tool to the certified EMS provider and a helpful classroom text for the student.

I am a paramedic intern and was given this book by an instructor to help build on my assessments. This book is full of knowledge and tips. I have often found myself relaying information I have learned from reading it into my assessments and scenarios during my internship program. I plan on creating some cheat sheets if you will based on the chapter summaries.

I highly recommend that everyone in the health care industry read this book no matter what level of training you have.

One of the best EMS educational books on the market. Reads like a novel but educates the EMS professional to enhance their assessment skills to determine if someone is critical on not. Ultimately, can one stay and play or load and go are very critical concepts to know. It is amazing the difference this book will make for both the experienced and novice practitioner.

The 60 second EMT opened my eyes to the power of storytelling in medicine. Lessons and information related to EMS in a fictional setting are, at times, more effective than actual text books. Even decades later, I still remember lessons outlined in this book, especially the chapters about chest pain. The contributing editors were also legends in the EMS world. Unfortunately, this book is no longer in print.
