Unfortunately, the best part of this book is that HOT cover. Whew!! Love that cover.

ABLAZE is a *very* short story about a rich girl and a hot ranch hand stranded in a remote cabin during a snow blizzard. Sadly, we barely get to know anything about these two when the story comes to an abrupt cliffhanger ending, setting up the reader to buy an additional book that will continue this story. (Which, btw, isn't even available for sale at this time. Nor is this book up for sale either, for that matter. The publish date shows it was available last week on the 17th. Odd?)

The characters have potential so an additional book may be a fun option to read, but I would only entertain it if I knew the book doesn't end so quickly and abruptly as this one. I was JUST starting to like Luke, and thinking that just maybe Cheyenne and him had a possible future, then BAM it was over in mid conversation.

For those wanting a bit a steam, the book delivered on that with one moderately hot romp between these two. But like everything else about this story, it was quick and over with before you knew what happened.

There were also a few plot holes that stood out.

Overall, a cute story with potential but falls short with a cliffhanger ending.

3 stars!

I enjoyed this novella a lot. A lot. The only problem is that it was way too short and was over way too soon. I wanted more of Luke and Cheyenne. And that ending? Ugh! When is book two coming out? I need it like yesterday.

Putting the ending side, this was a wonderful teaser though. I say teaser because in this book, we only get a glimpse of Cheyenne and Luke's character. Cheyenne is an okay character for me. I know she's a rich girl whose life was pretty much mapped for her already. She did what was expected of her. One of them was to marry a guy befitting her status in society, in other words, a guy that her daddy approves.

Luke is the mysterious ranch hand who came to work for Cheyenne's family. He came to work for them under such unbelievable circumstances that I don't quite know what to think of it yet. But Luke is definitely mysterious and I felt like there is more to him that he's letting on.

The other guy mentioned in the book was Collin, Cheyenne's almost boyfriend. I don't want him to be a total douche but abandoning your almost girlfriend in the middle of a blizzard without informing anyone was just unacceptable. But I am interested in finding out more about him.

Overall, a good way to start a series. I'll definitely look forward to the second installment. What can I say? I'm hooked. ♥♥

Ablaze was a hot little number! Ablaze is book one in a new series by Morgan Black, called Fireside. For being a very fast read, it got my attention and made me disappointed it was over because I wanted more.

Cheyenne is the daughter of a very rich rancher. She’s made plans to spend the weekend in her family’s cabin with the man her father wants her to marry. To get to the cabin, Cheyenne has to be escorted by new ranch hand, Luke. Cheyenne has had a little thing for Luke ever since he started working on the ranch. Knowing nothing can happen between them Cheyenne has kept her distance. Luke and Cheyenne arrive at the cabin before a strong snow hits but by the time Luke goes to leave the storm has already hit and he’s going to have to stay. This is where things start to heat up!!!! ;)

For being pretty short, I really enjoyed Ablaze. It’s the perfect book to read on those cold winter nights. Now I need to get my hands on Flames!

Ablaze by Morgan Black is a quick, hot read. Being part one in a continuing series it sets the scene and the characters more than giving you a massive amount of story.

Cheyenne is expected to marry Collin, they have grown up together and are friends. The expectation of marriage is through their parent’s antiquated beliefs, more than her own and Collin’s. In an effort to get to know each other better, they arrange an illicit weekend away together in her family cabin. Unfortunately inclement weather leaves Cheyenne stranded on her own, and Collin still at home.

In steps Luke, stable hand at her farm, and what looked like initially being a weekend spent alone, turns into a whole different prospect with someone she has secretly had a crush on for a while.

This was a really quick installment (less than 30 minutes to read), but I would like to read more and see where Cheyenne and Luke’s story takes them.

I received a free copy of this book for my honest review.

I would actually give this book 3.5 stars but I rounded up because I did really enjoy it. This book is billed as a novella but its more of a teaser. You just get a taste of the story and then its over. You get a good introduction to the characters and the storyline and one good sex scene and then it leaves you hanging.

Cheyenne is dutiful daughter of the wealthy ranch owner. She's engaged to the guy her dad has picked out for her but she's got a big crush on Luke who she ends up trapped in the cabin for a weekend. Luke is a nice guy with a mysterious past and is really hot.

This book is a good introduction to the series. I like the characters and their romance is promising and the triangle intriguing. Its hard to say if Cheyenne will choose love or duty before the story ends. The one sex scene is hot but not over the top,(personally I don't mind a few more details), but this makes it feel more of a romance and less of an erotica.

I'm looking forward to seeing where this story leads but I think it could have been better if more of the story was published at one time.

Ablaze is one of this book where you hesitate to read it in the first place because you're not sure if the author will manage to keep you hooked and entertained in only 26 pages or so. It's not an easy task to make the readers attached to the characters in so little time.

Here, with Cheyenne and Luke, it was too short for me to really enjoy their personalities. You only have a glimpse in their life and in their minds. The end was abrupt and I felt a little lost and confused about it. The storyline wasn't really original, I mean, stuck in a cabin with the guy you lust after? I think I would have liked it better if it was more realistic.

But I won't lie to you, there was heat and steam between the two characters, but then it was over because of the 'I'm poor, you're rich and I'm working for your father so we shouldn't have done this' kind of ending. So I guess we'll see if Cheyenne succeed to convince him or not in the next instalment but I don't think I'll read it, though.

A really short novella who fell a little flat for me. An okay read.

Cheyenne's life was pretty much planned out. Marry a fellow rancher's son, staying in the lifestyle she's accustomed to. Collin and Cheyenne are on board with that, but in the meantime, Cheyenne has a crush on one of the ranch hands, Luke. When she gets stranded with him at a cabin on her land, she'll have a hard time keeping her lust at bay. Luke is always prepared for survival, but will he be prepared to be caught with Cheyenne?

While I did like Ablaze, I felt as if I'd barely gotten started reading and it was abruptly over. I understand the concept of a teaser, but Ablaze was really much too short to even be considered that. It definitely has the makings of a good story, but it needs to be much longer. The storyline can hold a reader's interest, but I must say that knowing there were only a few pages, I was actually disappointed before it even began. Cheyenne and Luke are really likable as hero and heroine and I would like to see their story evolve. The "heat" in the story is good and more would be even better. To keep me coming back for more, I'd like to see more in depth, involved stories. Being an avid romance reader, I'll be watching for more from Ms. Black!

A short story (in a series) 1st installmemt.

Ok, so this book is one I was a tad bit excited for. Unfortunately it fell VERY flat for me. Too many unnecessary details for a story this short. All those details made the story a bit boring for me.

This was supposed to be an erotic romance and the romance aspect also fell flat for me. There was nothing there. The characters had absolutely no chemistry. It all felt so forced. Defintely didn't get my highly anticipated butterflies.

The editing is terrible. I can't tell you how much grammar, punctuation, and spelling errors frustrate me. I am in no means the grammar police, but editing this bad should be illegal.

This being said I probably wont be reading anymore from this series.

I really enjoyed this short story. The story was well thought out and believable. I also liked the fact that the sex scene wasn't very detailed and graphic. I only have 2 complaints. It needs to be well edited there were some wrong and some missing words in it. Also it just ends on a cliff-hanger. I am not a fan of cliff-hanger's, but it does make you want to know what happens next.

I have a confession to make: I was a total cover slut when I requested this one on Netgalley. I know; shocking! I blame it on the flu! I was momentarily impaired by flu attack.
Well, seriously. I did like the cover. Its HAWT, which is not why I requested it, but why I did read the blurb.

This is the first of a serial. And I kinda like the idea of serials. It rminds me of Dumas, since it was his way of publishing his books. But this was definitely way too short.
If we talking novella? This should have at least17500words,  for some reason I doubt it has half. We talking not more than 50pgs - at best.
And this is one of my biggest issue actually. It felt rushed.  It barely started, then there was smut, and poof it was over.
I didn't expect this to have a finished storyline. But this was way to quick for me. Considering that this is supposed to add up to a book... If it were a book it would be totally on the borderline of becoming a DNF at the moment.
In such a short time there is little character building that can happen. But seriously I am not sure I care for Cheyenne. She is rather melodramatic and seem really imature.
The writing style was really not my cup or tea. And here lies the true problem. It felt scripted. Sound weird saying it about a book, I know. But this is supposed to be written from Cheyenne's POV, its written in direct narrative, yet she says things like;

"His gray eyes searched my body and his hands curved around my voluptuous breasts. "

who speaks like that about their breasts?!  sorry, no one i know does.

Then we come to the whole romance thing. In my opinion this is not just insta -everything; love, lust, you name it - but there is no chemistry. Now we all know how keen I am on insta-love.. so let's just not go there.

"I had made my decision. My previous innocent crush for Luke had turned into a severe lust that I couldn't control any longer."

Just one example of the odd insta thing thats going on.
But Luke is just sketchy at best and Cheyenne is really needy, I didn't feel any chemistry between them, the smut honestly made me crinch.
Will I read the next installment? well, I might give it a try. Because I do like the cover and I like the idea of the serial. Plus I have hopes that it might get better?
I think this is a fun little serial for serious romance lovers, people who don't mind any of the above mentioned.

Title: Ablaze
Series: Fireside Series Book #1 (novella)
Author: Morgan Black
Rating: D
Review: This book is perfect if you're looking for the a short length erotic novella about the standard rich girl who sleeps with the 'hired help' - in this case one of her father's ranch hands. She's pretty much engaged to an 'appropriate' guy - one her family deems worthy of their breeding and class - and she's been brought up knowing what was expected of her. She's always been attracted to Luke however, but not in an "I can't resist him" kind of way. She never intended to act on her desire, and certainly not enough to defy her family.
The problem with this story for me, first off, is the length. It actually seems more like a chapter or two rather than a novella, and the length did not give me enough time to get invested in these characters, or even get to know them really. What little I learned about them however, I didn't like. When they find themselves trapped in a cabin together - snowed in unexpectedly, Cheyenne decides to take advantage of this one opportunity to pretty much get the desire out of her system. And all I can say, is sex with Luke must be as hot as the cover of this book, because all of sudden Cheyenne does an about face in her attitude. It's wrapped up with a very abrupt cliffhanger that is supposed to get you wound up for the next book.
For me, it seemed a little too standard, a little too pat, a little too cliché....and the whole 'hired help' fantasy left me rolling my eyes and feeling like I was stuck in a time more suited to the 1800's rather than the present day. While I don't mind that type of fantasy, the tone for this one just turned me off completely. I think the potential is there, but the execution just missed the mark.

First, this is a very short story. It is a novella that is Part One in a series by author Morgana Black. When I mention short story, I mean “chapter-like” short story. I can understand it being short for a series or parts, but this could have been one chapter of a novella. With that being said, you can understand the frustration at the speed and abrupt ending the reader is left with.

Short stories need to tell quite a bit in a short amount of time. I understand that. Really, I do. Yet as a reader, I still want parts of my story to be full and give me an experience of connection with each character. I know that is a lot to ask for, but with Ablaze, I couldn’t find myself finding the footing needed to ground myself to the two characters of Luke and Cheyenne — At lease not with this small sample of a story. When the two start to warm each other up during the snow storm, it was rushed and I still didn’t find myself really excited about it. It was rushed and then we get the big regrets from one of the involved people. With little background on the characters, it made the connection hard for me. I am not going to be waiting on pins and needles for the next in the series, but I am still a little curious as to see if the author will bring some background to the characters and see if a spark finally ignites for me.

Hmmm I don't know about this one... I like the overall idea of the story. I like Cheyanne... but the writing leaves a bit to be desired. The flow was off and the character interactions felt forced. The dialogue seemed a bit too contrived as well. Luke's voice sounded way too female, there was too much description. Men are more to the point and a bit more brusque than he was.

The sex scene was sort of weird... the actual sex seemed to take about 10 seconds, there needed to more to the scene. After reading the short paragraph all I could think of was wow minute man! Which I'm sure was not the author's intent. Also, ummm condoms??? How hard is it to have him grab his wallet and roll a condom on? They don't even know each other! I'll be seriously disappointed if this is used as a plot device later ie her being pregnant. The foreplay was better written, as there was more going on. Also, I feel like his rebuff should have happened a bit later. He'd have at lease enjoyed the afterglow before coming down to his senses!

However, it wasn't difficult to read, and I'm sufficiently intrigued that I'd like to read the follow on book.

It is very rare for me to actually really enjoy a novella length book. For some reason I just can never get into them because I feel like the story lines are too rushed. Ablaze by Morgan Black is certainly not like the other novellas out there. If all novella length stories were are great as Ablaze then I would be blowing through these things like crazy!

What makes Ablaze so great is that while it is a short read, I felt like I got so much story out of those 25 pages. I started caring about Cheyenne and Luke and with the cliff hanger ending I am dying to know what happens next!

Yes this book is an erotic romance so there are some parts that are a little steamy and made me blush but it was never to the point where I thought it was too overboard. It fit in perfectly with the story.

I am certainly hooked on this great series and I can't wait to see where Morgan Black takes it next! I give it a 5 out of 5 stars!

Strong ...sexy...independent characters who's chemistry can't be denied. There is so much more to the story but the author has given us very short novellas to tempt our pallette and drawing us back for more. Mission accomplished since I need to know what happens next. I am looking forward to discover the next scene and how these two characters progress.

I knew going into this story that the first episode would be a lot of world building, short and sweet. Frustrating to get a story in shorts but the cover and blurb attracted me so I figured I would try it. There are certain limitations with novella lengths so I tend to be a little more lenient if there are less details, a little rushed, ect, and feel you can still enjoy them with some minor flaws that are hard to avoid. However, this one was a little train wreck-ish to me. I'm going to apologize in advance and say I hope this doesn't come off as cruel. I have no bad feelings towards the book or author, I'm just trying to be honest. Not every reader is going to love every book and that's ok. First, the characters were flat. We meet Cheyenne who is under her parents thumb, not even allowed to choose her own husband, financial freedom but really just a modern day princess in an ivory tower. You hear her story and know you should feel something for her but you just, don't. In fact, I had very little emotion evoked the whole book and really that's the main reason for the low rating. It wasn't throw it in the trash horrible but even the sex was super rushed and didn't increase my pulse a fraction. Luke could have been any man that walked in the door, that's how little he was developed. Yes, there was a brief back story but he still somehow remained faceless. I never felt like there were feelings between them, not even lust. I would have loved the whole forbidden affections angle built up more. This also didn't feel like erotica to me, it felt like NA, the dialogue felt like it was between two people in their late teens and there was nothing erotic about it. Regardless of age or maturity though, lines like " For someone who seemed so stuck up, you're damned good at letting loose." while they're taking their clothes off to have sex... you can keep that I barely know you condom less "member" in your boxers Luke. This is a series that I'm going to stop while I'm ahead and wish the author the best of luck in the future, but this just wasn't my style.

Ablaze is the first part of a short erotic romance serial by Morgan Black. This one originally drew me in because of the super hot cover, but I also thought that the blurb sounded really promising. I am not usually one for novellas or short stories, but this one for seemed different. I have some mixed feelings about this story, but I am really glad that I took a chance on this one. I am looking forward to reading more as this serial progresses, and I can't wait to see what happens.

Looking to get away for the weekend, Cheyenne decides to go to a cabin on her family's land. She is meeting her not quite boyfriend, although she tells her family that she is meeting her friends. To get to the cabin, it is three hours by snowmobile and her family doesn't want her to go by herself. So they send her with a ranch hand Luke to make sure that nothing happens to her. Cheyenne has a bit of a crush on Luke, but is committed to her future with Collin. Once her and Luke reach the cabin, the weather starts to get worse. Cheyenne receives a call from her boyfriend saying that he can't make it. Luke begins to head back to the ranch, but he runs out of gas and can't make it back. So he heads to the cabin to wait out the blizzard. Cheyenne and Luke spend their time getting to know each other and before long they are giving in to their attraction.

I liked both Luke and Cheyenne. Since this one was so short, I feel like we didn't get a chance to get to know the characters that much, but I found them interesting. Cheyenne is basically entering into an arranged marriage with Collin and Luke seems to have a lot of preconceived notions as far as Cheyenne goes. It will be interesting to see how things play out between them. Luke and Cheyenne had a lot of chemistry though. I am looking forward to reading the next part, Flames. I would recommend this one if you are looking for a really quick read that will be continued. It does end on a bit of a cliffhanger, and we are left wondering what will happen next. Overall, I think that this one was a promising start and I am curious to see how this story plays out.

While this is my first experience with Ms. Black I can honestly say that I thoroughly enjoyed this little novella. Fair warning Ablaze does end with a cliffhanger.

Cheyenne and Luke comes from two different worlds it does not stop the heat that is ignited between these two.

Cheyenne decides to plans a weekend getaway, which her dad is lead to believe with some girlfriends. Little does he know that Cheyenne has other plans.

Luke is one of the staffers on Cheyenne's family ranch. After helping Cheyenne get safely to her weekend destination he finds himself in a trouble due to a snow storm.

Things really heat up between these two quickly. Just as I was getting pulled into Ablaze it was over. I was quite surprised that I enjoyed Ablaze as much as I did especially since it was so short. I can't wait for the follow-up for this one I will defiantly be reading.

Ablaze is about 26 pages long, but has a good start to something swoon worthy. I was able to devour this one during  my lunch break. I would defiantly recommended this as a quick read in between novels or whenever.

Hmm...where don't even start. I wanted to like this quickie because it sounded pretty good & the cover is hot. You figure hot cover, hot & steamy book. Nope. That wasn't case here. The 1 sex scene was mediocre at best. I can't take a sex scene seriously when the heroine says something like, 'I felt him shoot his warm seed into my body...' I hate when authors use the word seed instead of cum. If you're only going to have one sex scene, at least make it good. Also, the characters were extremely one dimensional. No substance to them at all but, how can they with a 30 page quickie. I usually don't mind quickies but, this seems like the kind of story that needs maybe a novel to get the reader invested. The length of a novella would even do. After reading the 1st page I knew where this was going. It was very predictable.

Cheyenne is the heroine and she comes from a very wealthy ranching family. Her life has been planned out for her down to who she's going to marry. She tells her dad that she's going up for a girls night at their cabin that's on their property. Only, she's really planning on meeting Colin the guy she's supposedly going to marry. Luke who she has a crush on & is also one of the ranch hands is the one who's going to be taking her to the cabin. Only a major snowstorm is on it's way (see where I'm going with this). Needless to say Luke doesn't make it back to the ranch & Colin doesn't make it to the cabin because of the snowstorm. So, Cheyenne & Luke are now stuck with one another until someone rescues them.

I wouldn't necessarily recommend this quickie. If you do read it I recommend that you wait till the series is over because this does end on a supposed cliffie. It wasn't a major one though & unless there's a wicked major twist somewhere down the line, I can pretty much guess what's going to happen.

Ok. So looking at the title, I was pretty excited to sit in my comfy chair and read a juicy, erotic story. The story is about a girl named Cheyenne and how she is going away for the weekend to a remote cabin in the woods. She is secretly meeting her soon to be fiancé, Collin, that was prearranged for her. (apparently this is normal if you own ranches and have a lot of money.) Cheyenne is driven by snowmobile by one of the ranch hands, Luke.
There is definitely some mystery behind him. Cheyenne and Luke both crush on each other and they get stuck in the cabin due to a snow storm. The story is a novella that leaves you with a cliffhanger. I'm assuming you will find out how their story plays out each time you buy the next one. I wish I could give you more details, but honestly, that was lacking. The story read fast, but almost too fast. I didn't have time to connect with the characters or get invested in the story. The story had some holes in it, jumped around a lot to fill in a back story and they had minimal dialogue with each other. I know, I know, its labeled Erotic, so more sex than story. Having said that, there was only one sex scene and it was alright. I admit fully that I like them juicy and sexy, but the scene ended prematurely (no pun intended)! This came out in 2012 and the next one is out this month. The story was not smooth to me and had pieces missing that I thought should be there to give a little depth. Did I like it - yes. Would I read more - maybe. Overall, if you like quick reads that are like a little sex mini-series you may like it.

I went into reading this knowing that it was the start of a serial Novel ( a serial story will be divided into novelette- or novella-sized sections released at regular intervals, like once a week or once a month. ) So I was prepared for a quick read.

I feel like the author did a good job of helping readers get to know the two main characters in a short amount of time. The backgrounds really interested me- Cheyenne may appear to the world as a bit of a stuck up rich girl who is handed everything, But she is more down to earth than that and has passions of her own that she works hard for. Luke is a bit of a mystery- to both Cheyenne and readers. I find myself wanting to know more about him and what makes him tick!

The Steamy scene was just blushworthy enough but not too over the top- though there were a few cheesy comments and lines throughout the story- and definitely left me wanting to read more about these two together! There are a few editing errors that had me pause for just a moment, but i'm sure the author will fix those after being informed, they were few do it didn't bother me too much.

I am interested in reading the rest of the story for sure! It will be interesting to read a serial Novel as I never have before, done in almost a TV show style where we get one episode at the time and the world and story will grow with each new addition!

This Series will have a new addition on the 18th and 29th of every month and I will be jumping in to see what happens next.

Review: When I read the description of this book I thought, wow this sounded sexy and exciting. After reading it I must change my mind just a bit. Yes it had sexy moments, but after the way it ended and leaves you hanging it way that it did, just really pissed me off. Okay, let's begin where it all starts shall we....Cheyenne is planning a secret getaway with her "fiance'/ betrothed", she has told her father she is meeting up with her friends so he doesn't worry about where she is going. Then we find out a storm is coming and instead of changing her mind like a sensible person she still wants to spend time with him at the risk of everyone else. SELFISH!! After being in the presence of Luke for just the short amount of time in the beginning I was confused, because even though she was dying to spend time with her guy, she is thinking about Luke like crazy and yes that is normal, as he is very sexy sounding lol, however the author could have done it a bit differently for me. Moving on.....Storm....Some interesting story line.....AHhhh my favorite part lol, SEX!!! This sex scene is way to quick for me but it was sexy in it's own way I suppose. It was AFTER the sex that pissed me off. Yes I am going to be getting the next one in the installments, however, I am unsure if I am going to actually enjoy it! The way it left me was with such confusion I just don't know. Overall I would rate the book at a sturdy THREE STARS!!!

After reading this short yet sweet novella, I have to admit that I am hooked on the possibility of learning more about the relationship that's developing between Cheyenne & Luke...

However, I would be lying if I said that this book didn't have a few issues. One of which is the flow of the book, along with the strength of the characters (Luke & Cheyenne) as being fully realized individuals who fall for one another. Also, I felt that after the 65% mark that there was a disconnect in the dialogue concerning Cheyenne and Luke.

I do realize that with a novella being this short, that there's only so much that the author can include for the readers, but still, being the Persnickety reader that I am, I'm always in search of quality reads that will captivate me for 1-4 hours straight...

Although this novella wasn't absolutely perfect, it was a decent start for what may turn out to be a really awesome series...

Other than that, this book was a sweet little romp that'll keep you occupied for an hour.

Giving this one 2.75 stars.

I have to admit that the cover attracted me first up and the blurb sounded good, but this novella just fell short for me. I needed more pages, I needed more chemistry between the characters, and I needed more emotion. Cheyenne felt more real to me than Luke and I felt that as soon as I began to feel connected her it just ended. I thought the sex scene was way too rushed compared to the first 2/3 of the novella and their dialogue just didn't flow for me.

The premise of this story was really good and it had potential to be emotional, but it didn't give me enough to really be invested in the story.

I appreciate that this is billed as an installment, and that you can only fit so much in to 20 or so pages, but if that is the case then it needs to reach out and grab me and entice me to read more. I would much rather have waited and read this as a 100 page novella so I could sink my teeth into it.

Curiosity has me wondering what length of novella the author releases next, and to see if we are given more insights into their thoughts about each other so we can develop a connection with the characters.

It is very rare for me to actually really enjoy a novella length book. For some reason I just can never get into them because I feel like the story lines are too rushed. Ablaze by Morgana Black is certainly not like the other novellas out there. If all novella length stories were are great as Ablaze then I would be blowing through these things like crazy!

What makes Ablaze so great is that while it is a short read, I felt like I got so much story out of those 25 pages. I started caring about Cheyenne and Luke and with the cliff hanger ending I am dieing to know what happens next!

Yes this book is an erotic romance so there are some parts that are a little steamy and made me blush but it was never to the point where I thought it was too overboard. It fit in perfectly with the story.

I am certainly hooked on this great series and I can't wait to see where Morgana Black takes it next! I give it a 5 out of 5 stars!

For a novella this short I half expected it to jump right in, but the beginning is very slow and continues to build just as slowly. However, for a longer book the pace would have been fine.

Cheyenne is basically a ranch princess who accepts the fate of her future and is planning on getting to know the boy she will one day marry, but fate had other plans. She ended up stranded in a cabin with the sexy ranch hand, Luke, who drove her there instead of Collin who ditched her because of the pending storm. With nothing better to do they spend the time getting to know each other, and once they knew as much as they wanted about each other they decided to get to know each other a little more intimately.

But holy hell, I don’t think I have ever wanted to smack a character more than I did Luke! That ending had me yelling profanities at a storybook character.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from this story (well more like one chapter of a story) but I was pleasantly surprised. I was immediately intrigued by Cheyenne and Luke. Cheyenne being the daughter of a wealthy rancher is hoping for a romantic weekend with her sort-of boyfriend Colin. She gets her romantic weekend just not with the person she thought! She gets hot and heavy with ranch hand Luke. Luke is new on the ranch and has been attracted to Cheyenne for quite a while. He believes he is not good enough for her so he leaves her alone. But being stuck at a cabin alone with Cheyenne was not part of his plans. After their passionate night Luke pushes her away. But what happens next is anyone guess…as the next installment isn’t available yet!

For a short read it was pretty good. I am really interested to see how Luke and Cheyenne’s story turns out.

Ablaze was a short novella taken place mostly in a cabin owned by Cheyenne's family. She has told her dad she is meeting some friends for a girls weekend when in reality she is planning on meeting her fiancé for a romantic weekend. She gets trapped by a snowstorm with Luke, a sexy ranch hand at her father's ranch.
That's about as much of a back story as you get. Which I guess is to be expected with a novella but due to the numerous editing errors and plot holes (Luke was supposedly a rugged outdoorsman who packed a changes of clothes with him to bring Cheyenne to the cabin by snowmobile but ran out of gas on his way back?)I couldn't give it anymore than 2 stars.
The sex scene was mediocre and unfortunately the best thing about this book was the cover.

Ablaze is a bite sized morsel that left me wanting to know more about the characters and what would come of them in book two. Obviously this is a rather short story but instead of rushing the reader along until the sex scene, Morgan actually spent most of the time letting us get to know Cheyenne and Luke. Cheyenne has a rather interesting life, being the daughter of a weathy rancher she has had much of her life handed to her and while she knew of the lack of freedom she never had a reason to doubt her happiness.Until she winds up stuck in a blizzard with a ranch hand named Luke. I really liked seeing them slowly get use to each other’s company, before succumbing to alcohol induced passion. I look forward to seeing how Cheyenne deals with her parents and Collin (her somewhat assumed match), and how well her and Luke will keep it a secret.
