The Celestial River: Creation Tales of the Milky Way

Rate this book
Since humans have existed, anyone who looked up on a clear night could see the Milky Way. They gave the luminous stream vivid names, such as Celestial River, Star-Filled Basket, and Path to the Place of Abundance. With these names came remarkable stories of how the Milky Way was formed.

Folktales and mythogies from around the world, I truly enjoyed the wide ranging cultures represented in this collection. Only seven tales but includes Australian aborigine, Maori, native tribes from Argentina and the Kalahari. Each story is introduced with a one page setting for that story and its culture. My favorite was the Aborigine Tale.
