I don't think this author and series is for me. h/H were involved before, they broke up, hero is back. Honestly, the elements in this story didn't work for me and I felt it deserved a WARNING! . I would not have read this, had I known.

I have thoroughly enjoyed each of the books in this series and believe High Seduction is my favorite so far. There is action, suspense and some extremely sensual scenes; all combining to make a wonderful romantic suspense that was hard to put down.

Timothy Dextor is a highly recommended paramedic and has worked all over the world and in some very dangerous situations. Seven years ago he not only worked with Erin but they were in a serious relationship, but something happened and she walked away. Tim has applied for work at Adrenaline for one reason and that is to be with Erin again and this time forever.

Erin Tate is the helicopter pilot for Adrenaline the search and rescue team stationed out of Banff. She has no fear when it comes to flying and seems always in control but she is not as sure of herself with Tim. So they start from the beginning with their relationship, Tim is letting her set the pace and call the shots as he is still uncertain about why she left in such a panic.

As they explore their relationship, taking it one step at a time the team works together on a dangerous mission that tests all of them but the reward is a few days off. Erin and Tim visit Matt, a friend of his and are treated to luxury and some hot sexy nights with a bit of voyeurism. Their time is cut short when they need to get the helicopter back to Banff but little do they know that a side trip as good Samaritans gets them in more danger than any of them could imagine.

This is such a good addition to the story, the adventures are exciting, the pace is fast and the romance is hot with a capital H.

The Adrenaline Search and Rescue series is aptly named. Not only does the romance sizzle, but the action sequences provide plenty of heart pounding suspense. I thoroughly enjoyed this adventure through the Canadian Rockies.

Erin Tate is a helicopter pilot for Lifeline, an elite search and rescue team, and an all-around tough chick. She is somewhat taken aback though when a blast from the past arrives in the form of her ex-boyfriend Timothy Dextor. Tim is Lifeline’s new paramedic and he is ready to set the record straight with Erin about what went down between them years ago.

As Tim becomes a part of the team, Erin’s unease begins to subside and her resolve to keep her distance from him wavers. The attraction between them is high, but they have a lot of baggage to unpack as they navigate difficult rescues and dangerous situations.

Tim and Erin have great chemistry on page. They initially clash, but their attraction to one another is undeniable. They share a bit of kink, both having a fascination with light bondage and domination. And while this plays a role throughout the novel with Erin working through her need to be in control and make her own decisions, the book is not about the mechanics of, or explicit in, BDSM. Tim is respectful of Erin’s wishes always and allows her to set the pace of their relationship. Erin is able to come to her own realizations about what she wants and who she is. Her emotional journey and the evolution of her relationship with Tim grant the story the depth found lacking in most erotic romances.

This one was a bit too kinky for me... BDSM, menage, bondage, voyeurism, etc. I liked the setting, characters, plot and I like lots of steamy sex. Just not an extra male watching and participating. Squicks me out.

High Seduction

This is an adrenaline rush when Erin starts out by getting rid of the weak candidates. She is a crazy good pilot. Now Tim walks back into her life and the sparks fly once again. The missions are thrilling in themselves. The one mission where the plane was split in two was definitely spine tingling. Towards the end it started getting slow until another plane crash is spotted. Unfortunately, this plane held bad guys. Erin and Tim, along with Matt, were able to escape these bad guys the first time to only be confronted by them a second time - this time they were on their own turf so they had the upper advantage. Once the bad guys were neutralized, Tim finally told Erin that he loved her and she said the same. I am happy these two found their happily ever after even though they were separated for 7 years. FANTASTIC job Vivian! I would recommend this book.

Erin has worked hard to become the helicopter pilot for an elite rescue team. She's proud of her team and of her contribution to saving lives. When a spot opens up on the team for a new paramedic she knows having the right fit means a lot to the dynamic of the team, but could her ex-boyfriend Timothy be the right fit? Timothy knows he should never have let Erin get away. They had a lot of passion but neither were quite ready for the intensity of their relationship. Now that they have both grown, personally and professionally, Erin is ready to take some tentative steps in exploring their HEA. Will they be able to combine their work and play to find happiness or will unspoken trouble from their past weigh down their future? Great conclusion to the series, a little kinkier than the earlier reads but that just added to the spice. Great read!

Excellent. This book has everything I could ever want in a book. Sweet, romantic, exciting, adventurous, erotic, seductive, cliffhanging, and HOT are just a few ways to discribe this story. After I finished Devon and Alisha's story, I couldn't help but be truly disappointed and upset with Xavier's accident (but I knew that Vivian Arend would make me understand). Tim was almost worth that accident (although is Xavier where real I'm sure he'd disagree). Erin's struggles and trepidations were real, well explained, and valued. Tim was Hot, being a Dom in the bedroom is an exciting read. Being a partner outside of the bedroom and understanding you partner and their needs, extremely appealing. Loved this story and this series, it is almost disappointing it was "only" a trilogy;)

Unfortunately I found this story rather flat. Erin seemed a more interesting character in the previous books. It seemed we mainly got to hear about her sexual preferences in this story. I would have liked a bit more background on her pilot skills and also see interactions with people other than Tim.

This blurb came from the author’s website.

I am a huge Vivian Arend fan and I fell in love with the members of the Lifeline search-and-rescue when I read the first installment High Risk a year ago. I found each installment moving in a different way and when I finished this latest one I found myself at a loss for words. I walked around for a day or so and all I could think of was “GO! BUY! READ!” and while that might work for a few of you, unfortunately I don’t think my fellow reviewers will let me get away with that for longer than this paragraph. With that impulse out of the way, I started trying to figure out exactly what about this particular story created such an impact, and the word TRUST came to mind. This story was all about trust. You might think the entire series is about trust and you would be correct because the team cannot function without it, but there are different layers of trust. Professional trust is very different from personal trust, which is also different from intimate trust, especially when that trust has been lost in the past. Watching Erin and Tim grow and learn throughout this story was extremely moving.

After the troubling events of the last installment, the Lifeline team was trying to rebuild their sense of unity and replace injured teammates. They were having a hard time replacing their paramedic until a man from Erin’s past showed up intending to get her back. Erin was professional enough to recommend Tim as a member of the team, but she was extremely skittish about starting up any sort of personal relationship with him again. Tim had done some serious growing and thinking during their years apart, and was determined to regain Erin’s trust so they could rekindle their relationship. To him, this meant giving her time and space, paying attention to her cues, but also refusing to be shutout of her life.

Speaking of the different layers of trust, the distinction between professional and personal was very evident from Erin’s first introduction of Tim to the Lifeline team captain. When they were forced to unexpectedly work together, I thought it was good to see that regardless of their personal issues, they were able to work together extremely effectively. To me, that meant both Erin and Tim were adults who had a chance to work things out one way or another. As I continued to read, that ability became more and more important along with demonstrating a growth in maturity since their first relationship.

I loved how Tim gave Erin space and control and allowed her to discover something was missing from their relationship when she overtly controlled the pace. I also liked how Erin decided to take a chance and explore the possibilities. I thought the slow progression was very important to see because it demonstrated the slow growth of trust and allowed me to buy into their second chance. Arend included several key conversations which provided more emphasis on correcting what went wrong the first time, not just avoiding the underlying issues as if time had solved everything. For me, I thought the decision Tim made in his attempt to get over the final hurdle was an incredible gamble. Watching that scene progress and the realizations Erin made during it really sealed the deal for me.

High Seduction was an incredibly moving read. If you haven’t started the series yet, I urge you to do so and if you have, you really need to take some time to read this installment. Arend took two hurt, strong-willed individuals and gave them the maturity and opportunity to work through their past towards a wonderful future. Along the way, each learned valuable lessons about the different layers of trust, how you have to trust yourself, and your partner. Seeing their growth was a wonderful treat. In other words, “GO! BUY! READ!”

I give High Seduction an A+

High Seduction is the third book in the Adrenaline Search & Rescue series. I am going to start off by saying that I love the diversity of the characters in this series! Love. It! Everything from male, female, black, white, gay, and amputee make up the amazing cast of characters of an elite search and rescue team that is the best of the best, all physically and mentally at the top of their game. Marcus Landers, a former ops specialist who lost part of his arm while on an assignment gone wrong runs the elite team at Lifeline while his brother David owns the search-and-rescue school, both headquartered in the town of Banff. The Lifeline team consists of a pilot, climbers, avalanche specialist, winch man, and paramedic who drop in to remote areas and pull people out of deadly situations.

The first book in the series, High Risk, starts off with Marcus which is as good a place to start as any since Lifeline is his team and he runs the operation. I liked the book, but it does not set the tone for the rest of the series. Insert eye roll here at my complaint but there was way too many sex scenes (yes, that's my complaint!) that it really distracted me from the storyline. I will tell you that the quality of writing throughout the series is superb and Vivian Arend is very talented at providing the reader with scorching hot sex scenes but I was looking for more. Let me tell you, she delivers in the second book, High Passion. THIS was what I was looking for! The rescues are heart pounding and dangerous at times and the suspense had me jittery, wanting to flip to the end to know whodunnit and if everyone survives. And the sex, well it is still HOT but balanced perfectly with the rest of the storyline!

I am happy to report that High Seduction carries on the same high level of suspense and thrill and the rescues are still edge of your seat exciting and a little unnerving.

"Hi, my name is Erin, and I'm addicted to a guy who's no good for me. I've stayed clean for nearly seven years."

Erin Tate is the extremely talented pilot who expertly navigates Lifeline's helicopter through the toughest conditions. We don't get much of a glimpse into Erin's personality in the first two books. She is confident and has a bitingly sarcastic sense of humor but keeps her private life separate from the rest of the team. We learn quick in High Seduction that Erin is not afraid to put someone on their ass she deems unworthy or disrespectful. I knew Erin was a girl after my own heart when she is unexpectedly reunited with her ex-boyfriend and she immediately goes for the round house kick. Yep, love this girl! Tim Dextor has arrived in Banff, his sole intention to reclaim the woman who packed her bags and walked out of his life seven years ago. Not one to tread lightly, Tim also decides he wants the coveted paramedic spot on Erin's Lifeline team. You can't help but be charmed by Tim right from the beginning with his self assured attitude, his hint of Irish brogue, and his strong work ethic.

You know there is an event in their past where he overstepped, he apologized for it but she up and left him without a word anyway. It's not hard to connect the dots and figure out that there is a kink factor involved when Erin utters what has to be a safe word and Tim backs off immediately. Everything about Tim exudes dominance and as he seamlessly fits in amongst the rest of the Lifeline crew, he patiently bides his time, handing over control to Erin while he waits for her to let him back in. Again, Vivian Arend delivers the perfect blend of camaraderie, suspense and sex, although this time she has upped her game. Voyeurism and M/F/M have joined her bag of tricks, after all, it is High Seduction.

Trust is a necessity when your job straddles the line of deadly. Trust in your fellow team members to always have your back, even in your personal life. Undeniable trust that your safety and life are in the best capable hands whether you are hanging from a rope on the side of a mountain or staring down the barrel of gun. Erin has no hesitation handing over trust to Tim on a professional level but can she trust that her personal submission will not come at the loss of her independence?

Vivian Arend continues her fast paced romance series, set in the Canadian mountains of Banff, Alberta. High Seduction is the third book in the Adrenaline Search and Rescue series, which will have readers holding their breath and reaching for a cold drink by turns. Filled with all the passion and high stakes rescues that readers can handle, this book hints at darker more primal needs. A helicopter pilot and a paramedic have a past that needs some closure, but circumstances tempt fate and put them in line to start over with a second chance at love.

What I liked:

This is my first book by Vivian Arend and I was really excited to see what she had to offer. I absolutely loved the theme of this novel. The whole Search and Rescue world is fascinating and Arend did a fantastic job of showing the kind of person it takes to work in the field. Her characters were a cut above the normal erotic romance couple. They had depth and passion that was hard to deny in their line of work and their in their private lives. The combination of high adrenaline rescues and over-the-top sexual exploration was amazing. Readers will find themselves in a quandary as to which aspect of the book was the best.

Tim and Erin are not unacquainted. In fact they used to be in a relationship. Erin runs away and ends up with the Adrenaline Search and Rescue team as their helicopter pilot. Now several years late Tim shows up as a candidate for the paramedic opening on the team. But it's clear that he has one mission in mind: win Erin back! Readers don't have to guess at the underlying agendas with this one, it's pretty straight forward and I found that refreshing. Arend doesn't beat around a bush and that writing attitude carries over into all aspects of this book. It's very open and brash in some cases. I found that intriguing and fun.

Erin has created a life for herself here. She is brassy and strong and has all the necessary passion to pull off working in this high risk, high reward career. She comes off as resilient, resourceful and ready... ready for life and ready for love. Tim is a no nonsense kind of guy. In control and on top of his game. He's a darn good paramedic and he knows it. I loved the passion both of these characters exhibited in every aspect of their lives. That's the kind of person it takes to work in that kind of field, and it's the kind of person it takes to make the BDSM world work in their sexual life. These two characters had zeal to spare and Arend does a fantastic job with their characters.

The addition of Tim's friend Matt, also brings out a different side to Tim and Erin's relationship. Adding an element of surprise and suspense to the reading of this novel that had little to do with rescuing. It amped up the sexual side of things and put Erin's trust in Tim to the breaking point. I think readers will find this secondary character very interesting. I for one hope the next book features Matt. After reading about him here, readers will only want more. Arend shows just how important characters other than the main couple are to moving the story forward and giving it new and interesting directions.

What I didn't like:

I thought Erin and Tim had amazing chemistry and I thought the use of a past history between them was a great idea to boost the time it took them to get back together, but I did have a little issue with how quickly Erin was able to put her complete trust in Tim. She left him the first time for a reason. She got scared. He did some things that fractured her trust in him and I thought they needed a little more build up to the ultimate test of their trust in each other. A little too fast, but not an ender for how much I liked the book.

Bottom Line:

My first experience with this author was a very enjoyable one. I look forward to reading her other books. I felt like she did an amazing job with both the search and rescue elements of this story and the sexual elements. It was hard to decide which was written better. Suffice it to say this was a hot one in more ways than one.

I have always thought the general idea of this series is wonderful and refreshing.  We have the search and rescue world, which is not as popular is romance books, and that can give a good boost to the interest of the story.  HIGH SEDUCTION is full of adrenaline of all varieties!  Some I wasn't quite expecting.

Erin has been part of the Lifeline search and rescue crew for a while.  She's a great chopper pilot and loves the new life she's built for herself in Banff.  Except that her past has come to shake things up.  Specifically the man she ran from years ago.  I love second chance at romance stories!

Timothy is a paramedic and the one man Erin had a serious relationship with in college.  They were young, they were both exploring their wants and desires.  Which happen to include BDSM then, and some of it had sent Erin running scared.  Now Tim wants her back and he's willing to do anything he can to get her.

I wasn't expecting the BDSM aspect of this book.  Ms. Arend, as usual, can deliver a pretty hot story.  But even with all the background information on them as a couple before, and the fact they were taking things slow.... It just didn't feel like it developed enough for me to see where they ended up so quickly.  Trust being a major aspect of a BDSM relationship, I was hoping to see more of that developing.

However, I enjoyed the plot a lot with the twists and turns and all the action!  It definitely amped that up from the previous book.  I just couldn't connect with some of the elements in this story as much as I would've liked.  All that aside, this was still a very enjoyable read.  Ms. Arend always delivers top quality writing and entertaining, even though I don't think this is the best by her.

I am, as always, anxious to see where this series will go next and hopefully we will see more of Timothy's friend.

High Seduction, Adrenaline Search & Rescue #3, by Vivian Arend
Grade: B+

“Spider.”

Timothy Dextor has only one regret in his life and that was letting Erin Tate walk out of his life seven years earlier. Tim is determined to win back the woman he loves and his first step is landing a position on the elite search and rescue team she is on. Tim’s plan to win Erin back doesn’t go according to plan and they soon find themse Tim realizes that winning Erin back will be a full time job but he is determined to win this woman back into his life forever.

Erin Tate is shocked when Tim Dextor walks back into her life and declares he wants her back. The more time Erin spends with Tim the more old insecurities come back and start to make cracks in the relationship they’ve rebuilt. No matter what happens Tim refuses to give up but when some crazy events threaten to tear them apart Erin realizes she will do whatever it takes to keep Tim forever.

I loved this book and have been dying to get Erin’s story since she was introduced in the first book. Sometimes I find that I build books up but Tim and Erin were everything I wanted and even some that I didn’t know I wanted. This book is packed with lots of action, adventure and a lot of steamy moments between Erin and Tim that heat up the pages.

I didn’t know what to expect from Tim but he stole my heart from the very first page. I love when characters have a history and these two have some major history. I wasn’t sure what type of man Erin would need but I was so shocked that Tim was so dominant and in control with Erin. This isn’t a BDSM book but it does have some control aspects that I was surprised of but very pleased with how they were done. Erin and Tim are now one of my favorite couples and I loved every page of their story.

This is a great series that deals with romance but also a lot of search and rescue missions. These missions show different sides to the characters and provide a lot of fast paced action that keeps the story highly entertaining and I can never not read these books in one sitting. I think any romance-action-adventure readers would love these books and I highly recommend them.

Earc received to do an honest review (Netgalley)

This was actually a damn good book. I was a little worried since this is my first rodeo with the author but I'm glad I got the chance to read this and I can say I'll be buying more of her books.
High seduction starts out on a high note with the heroine Erin doing so acrobats in the air, and while its hilarious from time prospective, its not from Erin's.

Erin Tate is a take no shit, always in control, eff off kind if woman these days. She is the pilot for the Lifeline Search & Rescue team and from point one you know she is damn good at what she does. But she is definitely missing something in her very closed off, controlled life.

Tim Dexter is looking for a new job and he wants it to be with Lifeline, he has specific reasons, but all roads lead to Erin. Tim is a man who knows what he ants and isn't afraid to take a couple chances at getting it or in this case getting it back. Nothing and no one will stop him from claiming his "kitten" again.

These two have a history and from the sounds of it before its explained you think it was horrible break-up. Along the lines of he cheated on her with her best friend and then tried to act like she didn't find out. This was probably the only thing I didn't like about this book the way the author made it all seem so bad. Now I'm not saying it isn't a good reason to be upset, because it is. What I'm saying is Erin should be blaming herself the entire time, and not Tim.

Despite all if that I enjoyed this book a lot. There was action from page one and it just got better and better the more I read. I couldn't have asked for a better redemption book and the emotions that the author pulled from the characters seem real which is a big thing for me since this is at the end of the day a romance. The slight touches of BDSM and voyeurism that are put into it all are excellent and placed and done perfectly.

I would honestly read this again and. Do recommend it the all who have this book in their sights.

REVIEW:
This was an action packed story with both the romance and the rescues. I love how the SAR team had an easy camaraderie and worked together. They made it fun and pulse pumping all at the same time and the dangerous missions made for a great read. The romance between Tim and Erin progressed nicely and became flaming hot. Especially when Tim’s friend showed up. It is hard to decide which made my pulse pump more, the love scenes or the rescue missions. The writing was smooth and the characters believable. I loved it and can’t wait to read more about the Search and Rescue Squad.

The third book in the Adrenalin Search & Rescue series is an action packed contemporary romance that keeps the reader on their toes.

A chopper pilot used to calling the shots and a paramedic with dark appetites will discover the real meaning of control when an emergency throws them together in ways they hadn’t anticipated. This fast paced plot keeps the adrenalin pumping with lots of action, suspense and romance. The author brings the story live with vivid imagery, details and well orchestrated action scenes that make it easy for the reader to picture the events as they happen. The characters are strong, compelling, easily related to and grab the reader’s attention from the very beginning.

The attraction between Erin and Timothy is undeniably hot and the sex scenes including voyeurism scenes and m/f/m scenes are hot, steamy and scorch the reader with the vibrant intensity of the passion. The reader gets totally caught up by Erin’s turmoil as she tries to work through her insecurities in giving up control and accepting what she needs. Timothy seizes the reader’s attention with his sexy wildcard reputation and his take control attitude that makes females drool with lust.

The author paints the action images of the rescues with such intensity that the reader can almost feel the adrenalin coursing through their bodies as they wait on the edge of their seats to find out what happens. To spice things up even more a rescue turns into a dangerous situation that puts their very lives in danger and them in a situation that they can’t control which gives them both another perspective. They have to somehow escape the situation they also have to save their friend Matt from the bad guys as well.

This is a riveting read that I was totally engrossed in from beginning to end and was I captivated by not only the hero and heroine of this book, but I found the other characters to be intriguing as well. I haven’t read the other books in this series yet, but I will definitely have to change that.

Our Review, by LITERAL ADDICTION's Devilish Diva - Shawnie:
*Copy gifted in exchange for an honest review

Title: High Seduction
Series: Search and Rescue Book #3
Author: Vivian Arend
Genre: Romance
Blurb: LIFELINE: an elite search-and-rescue squad based out of Banff, Alberta. Specializing in high-risk rescue missions, this team goes wherever the job takes them…As the chopper pilot for the elite Lifeline search-and-rescue team, Erin Tate is used to handling power. Calling the shots in the air is one thing—in the bedroom it leaves her cold. What she wants is a man strong enough to strip away her control. Paramedic Timothy Dextor has a wild card reputation, and the dark appetites to prove it. The only thing missing is a woman he can share them with. Landing a position on the Lifeline squad puts his old flame back within reach. He already knows what Erin needs, and this time he’s not letting her go. But when an emergency throws Erin and Timothy together in unanticipated ways, the stakes are raised—on the job and off. Now they’ll both discover the real meaning of control…and the risks that come from falling in love.
Thoughts: This book is obviously going to be good - I mean, it's a Vivian Arend book! With that being said, this one was not a favorite of mine. I liked it, but it just didn't click with me. I liked the whole search and rescue aspect of it, and that was really descriptive and interesting. However, from the beginning we are teased with a 'safe word' and hints about what goes on in one of the clubs 'upstairs', and by the middle of the book we have a little bit of voyeurism going on. Now, while I don't mind reading some erotica or BDSM occasionally, it just didn't work for this book. To me the scenes seemed almost forced - they just didn't flow naturally with the storyline and it's progression. To be honest at times it seemed like I was reading two different books.
Again, it's a Vivian Arend book and that alone makes it not to missed, but not my favorite of hers by far.

I was given a copy of this book to write an honest review for cocktails and books.
HIGH SEDUCTION is an exhilarating, seductive story about two people who have a second chance at love. Tim Dextor and Erin Tate had a relationship, but after a misunderstanding Erin left. Seven years later, Tim applies for a job with Lifeline an elite search and rescue team in Alberta, Canada, where Erin works as a helicopter pilot. Everyone on the team is hired because they are the best in their field. The team goes into remote areas and rescues people at the risk to their own lives. The team members all have to be in perfect condition, skilled in many areas and crave the adrenaline rush. There are few women working in this field. I admired Erin for her independent spirit and her incredible helicopter skills. She has a strong personality, loves what she does and doesn’t take crap from guys who are intimidated by her position. She is confident in every part of her life, except when it comes to Tim. Erin finds herself still attracted to Tim, but is afraid of getting hurt again. Although Erin doesn’t relish the idea of working with Tim, she knows he is the best at what he does and he would be an asset to the group.
Tim is a paramedic and realizes he made a mistake with Erin seven years ago and would like another chance. I liked everything about Tim. He is a confident, alpha male, who always needs to be in control. He wants to try to work things out with Erin and is willing to do whatever it takes to get her back.
Vivian Arend writes a story that is both erotic and filled with adventure and drama. Tim is into a sexual lifestyle that Erin is attracted to but also feels apprehensive about. Tim and Erin have some hot, sexual scenes together. I enjoyed this fast paced story and felt like I was right there with the team when they made their rescues.

An awesome second chance story

This is a story about second chances but also about learning to completely trust your partner whether at your job or in your life in and out of the bedroom. Erin also learns by just because you give up control in the bedroom doesn't mean you are giving up control in all other areas of your life. Erin and Tim have a past history from when they were younger and had a misunderstanding and Erin fled without a word. Now Tim is working to convince her he has changed and that they belong together. Can he convince her they belong together or will he make they same mistakes as before?

For some reason, I just could not stay interested in this book. On the surface it has it all-great romance between a smart strong woman and a yummy alpha male; well written plot; good characters and well-explained motivation, suspense, and very few editing errors. But it takes so long to get where it’s going that the reader loses interest.

Erin is a pilot for a mountain search and rescue team. She is shocked one day to find former boyfriend Tim Dexter is a new member of her team. Like Erin, Tim is an outstanding search and rescue team member, a paramedic who is not afraid to take chances. He’s also a Dom, and someone who scared Erin years before because she was afraid she would lose herself. He’s back to see if he and Erin can make a relationship work.

The book includes bondage, exhibitionism, a temporary ménage relationship, and more. Once the sex scenes are added, the book starts to pick up, but not enough. The combination of the slow approach to their relationship and the excessive details of several rescue operations just made the entire book slow. I put it down and forgot to pick it back up numerous times. This may be the perfect book for a reader who wants this kind of detail, but for me, it was a bit of a disappointment. Usually, a book like this would earn a top rating, but it just dragged a little too much to reach that point.

I received ARC for honest review back in 2014 then reverted the post back to draft in 2015 to update and am now finally getting to it my apologies for the delay.

This review was originally posted March 25, 2014.

This was the best kind of book in that I just couldn't put it down which meant that when 5:15 am rolled around the snooze button was my best friend :). I really loved how Erin creatively dealt with idiots using her chopper. I thought Tim's single-minded tenacity and flexibility in achieving his goal was very romantic.

As with all of Vivian's books all the characters in her books are well thought out and never left behind or forgotten as she focuses on the main characters. You see the thought she put into each chapter and scene and she smoothly transitioned from one to the other.

I only found discrepancy in my copy of this ARC and that was on pg 98 where Alisha says that Anders was going with her when he was actually still on the chopper with Erin so I think the character that was actually with her was Tripp as that is where he is on the next page.

I am looking forward to reading the other books in this series then reading this book again.

The world of search and rescue just got a whole lot hotter with this steamy contemporary romance by Vivian Arend. This is the story of Erin, a helicopter pilot and Tim, a medic. Erin and Tim had a previous relationship in which the strong confidant woman to the outside world showed her submissive side in the bedroom to the dominant Tim. Afraid of giving up control outside of the bedroom she fled the relationship. Tim has come to Banff to join the Lifeline team in hopes of convincing Erin to give their relationship another shot.

I love how the author is able to blend a steamy love story with fast paced action. It was interesting to see the dynamics of Tim and Erin's relationship, how Tim was willing to let Erin rediscover what she loved about being being with him and learning that submitting to him didn't mean losing those parts of her character that she so valued. Tim's love for Erin is evident in the many scenes where he shows her how good they are together and how happy he can make her. The plot contains some suspense, steamy menage scenes, plenty of entertaining dialogue and secondary characters that round out the story. Readers looking for a sexy contemporary romance with a little kink on the side will love this latest offering in the search and rescue series. 5 steamy stars!
