The flash fiction stories in this collection, written by six different authors, encompass a variety of narrative approaches. The anthology includes tales ranging from a fictionalized account of American soldiers near the end of WWII, to the memories of an Italian immigrant’s grandson, to a French pastry chef's experience with a specific sort of fallout from 9/11. Each author has deftly demonstrated the range of “takes” possible when writing very short, "bite-sized" fiction focused on a specific theme.
