This book falls into the top 20 best Johntone Clan books. This is a great adventure with the usual excellent Johnstone characters. Even better than usual. A rather complicated plot, dialogue, setting are all very well thought out.
This tale has been told in other Johnstone Clan books. This is the best. The layering of sets of characters and getting them together, apart and together and apart and then adding in more is extremely hard to pull off successfully. especially of such well defined characters. Excellent work by the Ghost Writers.
Bottom ;line: i recommend this book. ten out of ten points.
Preacher aids Vincente Ojeida when five gringo's are about to rape and do more damage to Ojeida's wife and young daughter. From there the foursome becomes friends. As with Preacher, he ambers on to the next adventure that will pit him against the five gringo's and some scum-sucking deserters from the Mexican Army. There is a lot in this adventure but no more am I giving away. You will have to rad about the 7 foot bad guy and how Preacher meets to guys who become lifetime friends.
No doubt the best of Johnstone’s work that I have read thus far. Multiple characters, plot twists and plenty of action as always. Out of his element, Preacher holds steadfast to his principles and learns a little along the way. Don’t miss the authors note at the end; truly profound and refreshing.
I can't get enough of Your writing! And Preacher is a True Treasure! Along with the 1st and, alas, the Last Mountain Man. I plan on reading 'ALL' Your books!!! You are an Awesome writer and, I feel, Friend! Happy Trails an God Bless!!!!!
Preacher does what Preacher always does and saves the day. In this book he’s also charged with finding and saving some lost gold. It’s a fight to the finish from beginning to end.
While it was an excellent read, kind of bummed since the majority of the book was written by the late much beloved William W. Johnstone, and it's the last one in the Preacher series were any of the writing is by him.
Any of his books are excellent, when you get to the ones with J.A. Johnstone seems the continuation of his series by his estate are decent and the newer ones are hit or miss.
Preacher helps out a couple of youth who are helping the church recover a lost treasure. Of course there are others after that same treasure and Preacher must protect the group from the intruders. Preacher in the end safe the day and helps the Padre see the true meaning of Christian works.
