Where There Is Smoke is a novel covering the operations of a fictitious tobacco company around alleged cigarette smuggling during the 1960’s. The story is instigated by an unscrupulous manager who wants to win promotion and glory at any cost and uses his management position to undermine a decade’s old law and agreements set in place to ensure exactly this type of action doesn’t take place. He manipulates the company and sets up a wholesale operation in the Caribbean.
The tale weaves its way through stories of romance, colonisation, coup d’état, murder, and involvement with a Colombian drug lord and the setting up of a Caribbean cricket league.
Where There Is Smoke is a page turner - on steroids.
